tathA is ahinsAkA ekAnta pakaDakar pratimA, chaityAlay, pUjanAdi kriyAkA utthApan
karate hain; so unhInke shAstrommen pratimA AdikA nirUpaN hai, use Agrahase lop karate hain.
bhagavatI sUtramen RuddhidhArI munikA nirUpaN hai vahAn merugiri Adimen jAkar ‘‘tattha cheyayAin vandaI’’
aisA pATh hai. isakA artha yah hai ki — vahAn chaityonkI vandanA karate hain. aur chaitya nAm
pratimAkA prasiddha hai. tathA ve haThase kahate hain — chaitya shabdake gnAnAdik anek artha hote
hain, isaliye anya artha hai, pratimAkA artha nahIn hai. isase pUchhate hain — merugiri nandIshvar dvIpamen
jA-jAkar vahAn chaitya vandanA kI, so vahAn gnAnAdikakI vandanA karanekA artha kaise sambhav hai?
gnAnAdikakI vandanA to sarvatra sambhav hai. jo vandanAyogya chaitya vahAn sambhav ho aur sarvatra
sambhav na ho vahAn use vandanA karanekA visheSh sambhav hai aur aisA sambhavit artha pratimA
hI hai; aur chaitya shabdakA mukhya artha pratimA hI hai, so prasiddha hai. isI artha dvArA chaityAlay
nAm sambhav hai; use haTh karake kisaliye lupta karen?
tathA nandIshvar dvIpAdikamen jAkar devAdik pUjanAdi kriyA karate hain, usakA vyAkhyAn
unake jahAn-tahAn pAyA jAtA hai. tathA lokamen jahAn-tahAn akRutrim pratimAkA nirUpaN hai.
so vah rachanA anAdi hai, vah rachanA bhog – kutUhalAdike artha to hai nahIn. aur indrAdikonke
sthAnommen niShprayojan rachanA sambhav nahIn hai. isaliye indrAdik use dekhakar kyA karate hain?
yA to apane mandirommen niShprayojan rachanA dekhakar usase udAsIn hote honge, vahAn dukhI hote
honge, parantu yah sambhav nahIn hai. yA achchhI rachanA dekhakar viShayonkA poShaN karate honge,
parantu arahantakI mUrti dvArA samyagdRuShTi apanA viShay poShaN karen yah bhI sambhav nahIn hai.
isaliye vahAn unakI bhakti Adi hI karate hain, yahI sambhav hai.
unake sUryAbhadevakA vyAkhyAn hai; vahAn pratimAjIko pUjanekA visheSh varNan kiyA hai.
use gopaneke artha kahate hain — devonkA aisA hI kartavya hai. so sach hai, parantu kartavyakA to
phal hotA hai; vahAn dharma hotA hai yA pAp hotA hai? yadi dharma hotA hai to anyatra pAp hotA
thA yahAn dharma huA; ise auronke sadRush kaise kahen? yah to yogya kArya huA. aur pAp hotA
hai to vahAn ‘‘NamotthuNan’’ kA pATh paDhA; so pApake ThikAne aisA pATh kisaliye paDhA?
tathA ek vichAr yahAn yah AyA ki — ‘‘NamotthuNan’’ ke pAThamen to arahantakI bhakti
hai; so pratimAjIke Age jAkar yah pATh paDhA, isaliye pratimAjIke Age jo arahantabhaktikI
kriyA hai vah karanA yukta huI.
