nanu ko‘yamātmā kathaṁ cāvāpyat iti cet, abhihitametat punarapyabhidhīyate . ātmā hi tāvaccaitanyasāmānyavyāptānantadharmādhiṣṭhātrekaṁ dravyamanantadharmavyāpakānantanayavyāpyekaśrut- jñānalakṣaṇapramāṇapūrvakasvānubhavapramīyamāṇatvāt . tattu dravyanayen paṭamātravaccinmātram 1 . paryāyanayen tantumātravaddarśanajñānādimātram 2 . astitvanayenāyomayaguṇakārmukāntarālavarti- saṁhitāvasthalakṣyonmukhaviśikhavat svadravyakṣetrakālabhāvairastitvavat 3 . nāstitvanayenānayomayā- guṇakārmukāntarālavartyasaṁhitāvasthālakṣyonmukhaprākta naviśikhavat paradravyakṣetrakālabhāvairnāsti-
atrāh śiṣyaḥ — paramātmadravyaṁ yadyapi pūrvaṁ bahudhā vyākhyātam, tathāpi saṁkṣepeṇ punarapi kathyatāmiti . bhagavānāh — kevalajñānādyanantaguṇānāmādhārabhūtaṁ yattadātmadravyaṁ bhaṇyate . tasya ca nayaiḥ
[ab ṭīkākār śrī amr̥tacandrācāryadev pariśiṣṭarūpase kuch kahate haiṁ : — ]
‘yah ātmā kaun hai (-kaisā hai) aur kaise prāpta kiyā jātā hai’ aisā praśna kiyā jāy to isakā uttar (pahale hī) kahā jā cukā hai aur (yahān̐) punaḥ kahate haiṁ : —
pratham to, ātmā vāstavameṁ caitanyasāmānyase vyāpta ananta dharmoṁkā adhiṣṭhātā (svāmī) ek dravya hai, kyoṁki ananta dharmoṁmeṁ vyāpta honevāle jo ananta nay haiṁ unameṁ vyāpta honevālā jo ek śrutajñānasvarūp pramāṇ hai, us pramāṇapūrvak svānubhavase (vah ātmadravya) pramey hotā hai (-jñāt hotā hai) .
vah ātmadravya dravyanayase, paṭamātrakī bhān̐ti, cinmātra hai (arthāt ātmā dravyanayase caitanyamātra hai, jaise vastra vastramātra hai tadanusār .) 1.
ātmadravya paryāyanayase, taṁtumātrakī bhān̐ti, darśanajñānādimātra hai (arthāt ātmā paryāyanayase darśanajñānacāritrādimātra hai, jaise vastra taṁtumātra hai .) 2.
ātmadravya astitvanayase svadravya – kṣetra – kāl – bhāvase astitvavālā hai; — lohamay, ḍorī aur dhanuṣake madhyameṁ sthit, saṁdhānadaśāmeṁ rahe hue aur lakṣyonmukh bāṇakī bhān̐ti . (jaise koī bāṇ svadravyase lohamay hai, svakṣetrase ḍorī aur dhanuṣake madhyameṁ sthit hai, svakālase saṁdhān – daśāmeṁ hai, arthāt dhanuṣ par carḥākar kheṁcī huī daśāmeṁ hai, aur svabhāvase lakṣyonmukh hai arthāt niśānakī or hai, usīprakār ātmā astitvanayase svacatuṣṭayase astitvavālā hai .) 3.
ātmadravya nāstitvanayase paradravya – kṣetra – kāl – bhāvase nāstitvavālā hai; — alohamay, ḍorī aur dhanuṣake madhyameṁ nahīṁ sthit, saṁdhānadaśāmeṁ na rahe hue aur alakṣyonmukh aise pahaleke bāṇakī bhān̐ti . (jaise pahalekā bāṇ anya bāṇake dravyakī apekṣāse alohamay hai, anya bāṇake kṣetrakī apekṣāse ḍorī aur dhanuṣake madhyameṁ sthit nahīṁ hai, anya bāṇake kālakī apekṣāse saṁdhānadaśāmeṁ nahīṁ rahā huā aur anya bāṇake bhāvakī apekṣāse alakṣyonmukh hai,
