shlokārthaḥ — [नमः समयसाराय] ‘samay’ arthāt jīv nāmano padārtha, temān sār — je dravyakarma, bhāvakarma, nokarma rahit shuddha ātmā, tene māro namaskār ho. te kevo chhe? [भावाय] shuddha sattāsvarūp vastu chhe. ā visheṣhaṇapadathī sarvathā abhāvavādī nāstikono mat khaṇḍit thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? [चित्स्वभावाय] jeno svabhāv chetanāguṇarūp chhe. ā visheṣhaṇathī guṇ-guṇīno sarvathā bhed mānanār naiyāyikono niṣhedh thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? visheṣhaṇathī, sarvagnano abhāv mānanār mīmānsak ādinun nirākaraṇ thayun. ā prakāranān visheṣhaṇo (guṇo)thī shuddha ātmāne ja iṣhṭadev siddha karī tene namaskār karyo chhe.
bhāvārthaḥ — ahīn maṅgaḷ arthe shuddha ātmāne namaskār karyo chhe. koī em prashna kare ke koī iṣhṭadevanun nām laī namaskār kem na karyo? tenun samādhānaḥ — vāstavikapaṇe iṣhṭadevanun sāmānya svarūp sarvakarmarahit, sarvagna, vītarāg, shuddha ātmā ja chhe tethī ā adhyātmagranthamān samayasār kahevāthī iṣhṭadev āvī gayā. tathā ek ja nām levāmān anyamatavādīo matapakṣhano vivād kare chhe te sarvanun nirākaraṇ, samayasāranān visheṣhaṇo varṇavīne, karyun. vaḷī anyavādīo potānā iṣhṭadevanun nām le chhe temān iṣhṭa shabdano artha ghaṭato nathī, bādhāo āve chhe; ane syādvādī jainone to sarvagna vītarāg shuddha ātmā ja iṣhṭa chhe. pachhī bhale te iṣhṭadevane paramātmā kaho, paramajyoti kaho, parameshvar, parabrahma, shiv, nirañjan, niṣhkalaṅk, akṣhay, avyay, shuddha, buddha, avināshī, anupam, achchhedya, abhedya, paramapuruṣh, nirābādh, siddha, satyātmā, chidānand, sarvagna, vītarāg, arhat, jin, āpta, bhagavān, samayasār ityādi hajāro nāmothī kaho; te sarva nāmo kathañchit satyārtha chhe. sarvathā ekāntavādīone bhinna nāmomān virodh chhe, syādvādīne kāī virodh nathī. māṭe artha yathārtha samajavo joīe.

shlokārthaḥ — [अनेकान्तमयी मूर्तिः] jemān anek ant (dharma) chhe evun je gnān tathā vachan te-may mūrti [नित्यम् एव] sadāy [प्रकाशताम्] prakāsharūp ho. kevī chhe te mūrti? [अनन्तधर्मणः प्रत्यगात्मनः तत्त्वं] je anant dharmavāḷo chhe ane je paradravyothī ne paradravyanā guṇaparyāyothī bhinna tathā paradravyanā nimittathī thatā potānā vikārothī kathañchit bhinna ekākār chhe evā ātmānā tattvane, arthāt asādhāraṇ — sajātīy vijātīy dravyothī vilakṣhaṇ — nijasvarūpane, [पश्यन्ती] te mūrti avalokan kare chhe — dekhe chhe.
bhāvārthaḥ — ahīn sarasvatīnī mūrtine āshīrvachanarūp namaskār karyo chhe. laukikamān je

sarasvatīnī mūrti prasiddha chhe te yathārtha nathī tethī ahīn tenun yathārtha varṇan karyun chhe. je samyaggnān chhe te ja sarasvatīnī satyārtha mūrti chhe. temān paṇ sampūrṇa gnān to kevaḷagnān chhe ke jemān sarva padārtho pratyakṣha bhāse chhe. te anant dharmo sahit ātmatattvane pratyakṣha dekhe chhe tethī te sarasvatīnī mūrti chhe. tadanusār je shrutagnān chhe te ātmatattvane parokṣha dekhe chhe tethī te paṇ sarasvatīnī mūrti chhe. vaḷī dravyashrut vachanarūp chhe te paṇ tenī mūrti chhe, kāraṇ ke vachano dvārā anek dharmavāḷā ātmāne te batāve chhe. ā rīte sarva padārthonān tattvane jaṇāvanārī gnānarūp tathā vachanarūp anekāntamayī sarasvatīnī mūrti chhe; tethī sarasvatīnān nām ‘vāṇī, bhāratī, shāradā, vāgdevī’ ityādi ghaṇān kahevāmān āve chhe. ā sarasvatīnī mūrti anant dharmone ‘syāt’padathī ek dharmīmān avirodhapaṇe sādhe chhe tethī te satyārtha chhe. keṭalāk anyavādīo sarasvatīnī mūrtine bījī rīte sthāpe chhe paṇ te padārthane satyārtha kahenārī nathī.
koī prashna kare ke ātmāne anant dharmavāḷo kahyo chhe to temān anant dharmo kayā kayā chhe? teno uttaraḥ — vastumān satpaṇun, vastupaṇun, prameyapaṇun, pradeshapaṇun, chetanapaṇun, achetanapaṇun, mūrtikapaṇun, amūrtikapaṇun ityādi (dharma) to guṇ chhe; ane te guṇonun traṇe kāḷe samay-samayavartī pariṇaman thavun te paryāy chhe — je anant chhe. vaḷī vastumān ekapaṇun, anekapaṇun, nityapaṇun, anityapaṇun, bhedapaṇun, abhedapaṇun, shuddhapaṇun, ashuddhapaṇun ādi anek dharma chhe. te sāmānyarūp dharmo to vachanagochar chhe paṇ bījā visheṣharūp dharmo jeo vachanano viṣhay nathī evā paṇ anant dharmo chhe — je gnānagamya chhe. ātmā paṇ vastu chhe tethī temān paṇ potānā anant dharmo chhe.
ātmānā anant dharmomān chetanapaṇun asādhāraṇ dharma chhe, bījān achetan dravyomān nathī. sajātīy jīvadravyo anant chhe temanāmāy joke chetanapaṇun chhe topaṇ saunun chetanapaṇun nij svarūpe judun judun kahyun chhe kāraṇ ke darek dravyane pradeshabhed hovāthī koīnun koīmān bhaḷatun nathī. ā chetanapaṇun potānā anant dharmomān vyāpak chhe tethī tene ātmānun tattva kahyun chhe. tene ā sarasvatīnī mūrti dekhe chhe ane dekhāḍe chhe. e rīte enāthī sarva prāṇīonun kalyāṇ thāy chhe māṭe ‘sadā prakāsharūp raho’ evun āshīrvādarūp vachan tene kahyun chhe. 2.

anubhūtinī arthāt anubhavanarūp pariṇatinī [परमविशुद्धिः] param vishuddhi (samasta rāgādi vibhāvapariṇati rahit utkr̥uṣhṭa nirmaḷatā) [भवतु] thāo. kevī chhe te pariṇati? [परपरिणतिहेतोः मोहनाम्नः अनुभावात्] parapariṇatinun kāraṇ je moh nāmanun karma tenā anubhāv(-udayarūp vipāk)ne līdhe [अविरतम् अनुभाव्य-व्याप्ति-कल्माषितायाः] je anubhāvya(rāgādi pariṇāmo)nī vyāpti chhe tenāthī nirantar kalmāṣhit (melī) chhe. ane hun kevo chhun? [शुद्धचिन्मात्रमूर्तेः] dravyadraṣhṭithī shuddha chaitanyamātra mūrti chhun.
bhāvārthaḥ — āchārya kahe chhe ke shuddhadravyārthik nayanī draṣhṭie to hun shuddha chaitanyamātra mūrti chhun. parantu mārī pariṇati mohakarmanā udayanun nimitta pāmīne melī chhe — rāgādisvarūp thaī rahī chhe. tethī shuddha ātmānī kathanīrūp je ā samayasār granth chhe tenī ṭīkā karavānun phaḷ e chāhun chhun ke mārī pariṇati rāgādi rahit thaī shuddha thāo, mārā shuddha svarūpanī prāpti thāo. bījun kāī paṇ — khyāti, lābh, pūjādik — chāhato nathī. ā prakāre āchārye ṭīkā karavānī pratignāgarbhit enā phaḷanī prārthanā karī. 3.

अथ प्रथमत एव स्वभावभावभूततया ध्रुवत्वमवलम्बमानामनादिभावान्तरपरपरिवृत्ति- विश्रान्तिवशेनाचलत्वमुपगतामखिलोपमानविलक्षणाद्भुतमाहात्म्यत्वेनाविद्यमानौपम्यामपवर्गसंज्ञिकां गतिमापन्नान् भगवतः सर्वसिद्धान् सिद्धत्वेन साध्यस्यात्मनः प्रतिच्छन्दस्थानीयान् भावद्रव्यस्तवाभ्यां स्वात्मनि परात्मनि च निधायानादिनिधनश्रुतप्रकाशितत्वेन निखिलार्थसार्थसाक्षात्कारिकेवलिप्रणीत- त्वेन श्रुतकेवलिभिः स्वयमनुभवद्भिरभिहितत्वेन च प्रमाणतामुपगतस्यास्य समयप्रकाशक स्य प्राभृता- ह्वयस्यार्हत्प्रवचनावयवस्य स्वपरयोरनादिमोहप्रहाणाय भाववाचा द्रव्यवाचा च परिभाषणमुपक्रम्यते ।
ṭīkāḥ — ahīn (sanskr̥it ṭīkāmān) ‘अथ’ shabda maṅgaḷanā arthane sūchave chhe. granthanā ādimān sarva siddhone bhāv-dravya stutithī potānā ātmāmān tathā paranā ātmāmān sthāpīne ā samay nāmanā prābhr̥utanun bhāvavachan ane dravyavachanathī paribhāṣhaṇ sharū karīe chhīe — em shrī kundakundāchārya kahe chhe. e siddha bhagavanto, siddhapaṇāne līdhe, sādhya je ātmā tenā pratichchhandanā sthāne chhe, — jemanā svarūpanun sansārī bhavya jīvo chintavan karīne, te samān potānā svarūpane dhyāīne, temanā jevā thaī jāy chhe ane chāre gatiothī vilakṣhaṇ je pañchamagati mokṣha tene pāme chhe. kevī chhe te pañchamagati? svabhāvabhāvarūp chhe tethī dhruvapaṇāne avalambe chhe. chāre gatio paranimittathī thatī hovāthī dhruv nathī, vināshik chhe; ‘dhruv’ visheṣhaṇathī pañchamagatimān e vināshikatāno vyavachchhed thayo. vaḷī te gati kevī chhe? anādi kāḷathī anya (par) bhāvanā nimittathī thatun je paramān bhramaṇ tenī vishrānti (abhāv) vash achalapaṇāne pāmī chhe. ā visheṣhaṇathī, chāre gatione paranimittathī je bhramaṇ thāy chhe teno pañchamagatimān vyavachchhed thayo. vaḷī te kevī chhe? jagatamān je samasta upamāyogya padārtho chhe temanāthī vilakṣhaṇ adbhut māhātmya hovāthī tene koīnī upamā maḷī shakatī nathī. ā visheṣhaṇathī, chāre gatiomān je paraspar kathañchit samānapaṇun maḷī āve chhe teno pañchamagatimān vyavachchhed thayo. vaḷī te kevī chhe? apavarga tenun nām chhe. dharma, artha ane kām — e trivarga kahevāy chhe; mokṣhagati ā vargamān nahi hovāthī tene apavarga kahī. — āvī pañchamagatine siddhabhagavanto pāmyā chhe. temane potānā tathā paranā ātmāmān sthāpīne, samayano (sarva padārthono athavā jīvapadārthano) prakāshak evo je prābhr̥ut nāmano arhatpravachanano avayav (ansh) tenun, anādi kāḷathī utpanna thayel mārā ane paranā mohanā nāsh māṭe, hun paribhāṣhaṇ karun chhun. kevo chhe te arhatpravachanano avayav? anādinidhan paramāgam shabdabrahmathī prakāshit hovāthī, sarva padārthonā samūhane sākṣhāt karanār kevaḷībhagavān sarvagnathī praṇīt hovāthī ane kevaḷīonā nikaṭavartī sākṣhāt sāmbhaḷanār tem ja pote anubhav karanār evā shrutakevaḷī gaṇadharadevoe kahel hovāthī pramāṇatāne pāmyo chhe. anyavādīonān āgamanī jem chhadmastha (alpagnānī)nī kalpanā mātra nathī ke jethī apramāṇ hoy.

bhāvārthaḥ — gāthāsūtramān āchārye ‘वक्ष्यामि’ kahyun chhe teno artha ṭīkākāre ‘वच् परिभाषणे’ dhātuthī ‘paribhāṣhaṇ’ karyo chhe. teno āshay ā pramāṇe sūchit thāy chheḥ chaud pūrvamān gnānapravād nāmanā pāñchamā pūrvamān bār ‘vastu’ adhikār chhe; temān paṇ ek ekanā vīsh vīsh ‘prābhr̥ut’ adhikār chhe. temān dashamā vastumān samay nāmanun je prābhr̥ut chhe tenān mūḷ sūtronā shabdonun gnān to pahelān moṭā āchāryone hatun ane tenā arthanun gnān āchāryonī paripāṭī anusār shrī kundakundāchāryane paṇ hatun. temaṇe samayaprābhr̥utanun paribhāṣhaṇ karyun — paribhāṣhāsūtra bāndhyun. sūtranī dash jātio kahevāmān āvī chhe temān ek ‘paribhāṣhā’ jāti paṇ chhe. adhikārane je yathāsthānamān artha dvārā sūchave te paribhāṣhā kahevāy chhe. shrī kundakundāchārya samayaprābhr̥utanun paribhāṣhaṇ kare chhe eṭale ke samayaprābhr̥utanā arthane ja yathāsthānamān jaṇāvanārun paribhāṣhāsūtra rache chhe.
āchārye maṅgaḷ arthe siddhone namaskār karyo chhe. sansārīne shuddha ātmā sādhya chhe ane siddha sākṣhāt shuddhātmā chhe tethī temane namaskār karavo uchit chhe. koī iṣhṭadevanun nām laī namaskār kem na karyo tenī charchā ṭīkākāranā maṅgaḷ par karelī chhe te ahīn paṇ jāṇavī. siddhone ‘sarva’ evun visheṣhaṇ āpyun chhe; tethī te siddho anant chhe evo abhiprāy batāvyo ane ‘shuddha ātmā ek ja chhe’ evun kahenār anyamatīono vyavachchhed karyo. shrutakevaḷī shabdanā arthamān, (1) shrut arthāt anādinidhan pravāharūp āgam ane kevaḷī arthāt sarvagnadev kahyā, tem ja (2) shrut-apekṣhāe kevaḷī samān evā gaṇadharadevādi vishiṣhṭa shrutagnānadharo kahyā; temanāthī samayaprābhr̥utanī utpatti kahī chhe. e rīte granthanī pramāṇatā batāvī ane potānī buddhithī kalpit kahevāno niṣhedh karyo; anyavādī chhadmastha (alpagnānī) potānī buddhithī padārthanun svarūp game te prakāre kahī vivād kare chhe tenun asatyārthapaṇun batāvyun.
ā granthanān abhidhey, sambandh, prayojan to pragaṭ ja chhe. shuddha ātmānun svarūp te abhidhey chhe. tenā vāchak ā granthamān shabdo chhe temano ane shuddha ātmāno vāchyavāchakarūp sambandh te sambandh chhe. shuddhātmānā svarūpanī prāpti thavī te prayojan chhe.
pratham gāthāmān samayanun prābhr̥ut kahevānī pratignā karī. tyān e ākāṅkṣhā thāy ke samay eṭale shun? tethī have pahelān samayane ja kahe chheḥ —

gāthārthaḥ — he bhavya! [जीवः] je jīv [चरित्रदर्शनज्ञानस्थितः] darshan-gnān-chāritramān sthit thaī rahyo chhe [तं] tene [हि] nishchayathī [स्वसमयं] svasamay [जानीहि] jāṇ; [च] ane je jīv [पुद्गलकर्मप्रदेशस्थितं] pudgalakarmanā pradeshomān sthit thayel chhe [तं] tene [परसमयं] parasamay [जानीहि] jāṇ.
ṭīkāḥ — ‘samay’ shabdano artha ā pramāṇe chheḥ ‘सम्’ to upasarga chhe, teno artha ‘ekapaṇun’ evo chhe; ane ‘अय् गतौ’ dhātu chhe eno gaman artha paṇ chhe ane gnān artha paṇ chhe; tethī ekasāthe ja (yugapad) jāṇavun tathā pariṇaman karavun e be kriyāo je ekatvapūrvak kare te samay chhe. ā jīv nāmano padārtha ekatvapūrvak ek ja vakhate pariṇame paṇ chhe ane jāṇe paṇ chhe tethī te samay chhe. ā jīv-padārtha kevo chhe? sadāy pariṇāmasvarūp svabhāvamān rahelo hovāthī, utpād-vyay-dhrauvyanī ekatārūp anubhūti jenun lakṣhaṇ chhe evī sattāthī sahit chhe. ā visheṣhaṇathī, jīvanī sattā nahi mānanār nāstikavādīono mat khaṇḍit thayo tathā puruṣhane (jīvane) apariṇāmī mānanār sāṅkhyavādīono vyavachchhed, pariṇamanasvabhāv kahevāthī, thayo. naiyāyiko ane vaisheṣhiko sattāne nitya ja māne chhe ane bauddho sattāne kṣhaṇik ja māne chhe; temanun nirākaraṇ, sattāne utpād-vyay-dhrauvyarūp kahevāthī thayun. vaḷī jīv kevo chhe? chaitanyasvarūpapaṇāthī nitya-udyotarūp nirmaḷ spaṣhṭa darshanagnān-jyotisvarūp chhe (kāraṇ ke chaitanyanun pariṇaman darshanagnānasvarūp chhe). ā visheṣhaṇathī, chaitanyane gnānākārasvarūp nahi mānanār sāṅkhyamatīonun nirākaraṇ thayun. vaḷī te kevo chhe? anant dharmomān rahelun je ek dharmīpaṇun tene līdhe jene dravyapaṇun pragaṭ chhe (kāraṇ ke anant dharmonī ekatā te dravyapaṇun chhe). ā visheṣhaṇathī, vastune dharmothī rahit mānanār bauddhamatīno niṣhedh thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? kramarūp ane akramarūp pravartatā anek bhāvo jeno svabhāv hovāthī jeṇe guṇaparyāyo aṅgīkār karyā chhe. (paryāy kramavartī hoy chhe ane guṇ sahavartī hoy chhe; sahavartīne akramavartī paṇ kahe chhe.) ā visheṣhaṇathī, puruṣhane nirguṇ mānanār sāṅkhyamatīono nirās thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? potānā ane paradravyonā ākārone prakāshavānun sāmarthya hovāthī jeṇe samasta rūpane prakāshanārun ekarūpapaṇun

सद्भावाच्चाकाशधर्माधर्मकालपुद्गलेभ्यो भिन्नोऽत्यन्तमनन्तद्रव्यसङ्करेऽपि स्वरूपादप्रच्यवनाट्टङ्कोत्कीर्ण- चित्स्वभावो जीवो नाम पदार्थः स समयः, समयत एकत्वेन युगपज्जानाति गच्छति चेति निरुक्तेः ।
अयं खलु यदा सकलभावस्वभावभासनसमर्थविद्यासमुत्पादकविवेक ज्योतिरुद्गमना-
त्समस्तपरद्रव्यात्प्रच्युत्य दृशिज्ञप्तिस्वभावनियतवृत्तिरूपात्मतत्त्वैकत्वगतत्वेन वर्तते तदा दर्शनज्ञान- चारित्रस्थितत्वात्स्वमेकत्वेन युगपज्जानन् गच्छंश्च स्वसमय इति, यदा त्वनाद्यविद्याकन्दलीमूल- कन्दायमानमोहानुवृत्तितन्त्रतया दृशिज्ञप्तिस्वभावनियतवृत्तिरूपादात्मतत्त्वात्प्रच्युत्य परद्रव्यप्रत्यय- मोहरागद्वेषादिभावैकत्वगतत्वेन वर्तते तदा पुद्गलकर्मप्रदेशस्थितत्वात्परमेकत्वेन युगपज्जानन् गच्छंश्च परसमय इति प्रतीयते । एवं किल समयस्य द्वैविध्यमुद्धावति ।
prāpta karyun chhe (arthāt jemān anek vastuonā ākār pratibhāse chhe evā ek gnānanā ākārarūp te chhe). ā visheṣhaṇathī, gnān potāne ja jāṇe chhe, parane nathī jāṇatun em ekākār ja mānanārano, tathā potāne nathī jāṇatun paṇ parane jāṇe chhe em anekākār ja mānanārano, vyavachchhed thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? anya dravyonā je vishiṣhṭa guṇo — avagāhan-gati-sthiti- vartanāhetupaṇun ane rūpīpaṇun — temanā abhāvane līdhe ane asādhāraṇ chaitanyarūpatā-svabhāvanā sadbhāvane līdhe ākāsh, dharma, adharma, kāḷ ane pudgal — e pāñch dravyothī je bhinna chhe. ā visheṣhaṇathī, ek brahmavastune ja mānanārano vyavachchhed thayo. vaḷī te kevo chhe? anant anyadravyo sāthe atyant ekakṣhetrāvagāharūp hovā chhatān paṇ potānā svarūpathī nahi chhūṭavāthī je ṭaṅkotkīrṇa chaitanyasvabhāvarūp chhe. ā visheṣhaṇathī vastusvabhāvano niyam batāvyo. — āvo jīv nāmano padārtha samay chhe.
jyāre ā (jīv), sarva padārthonā svabhāvane prakāshavāmān samartha evā kevaḷagnānane utpanna karanārī bhedagnānajyotino uday thavāthī, sarva paradravyothī chhūṭī darshanagnānasvabhāvamān niyat vr̥uttirūp (astitvarūp) ātmatattva sāthe ekatvagatapaṇe varte chhe tyāre darshan-gnān- chāritramān sthit hovāthī yugapad svane ekatvapūrvak jāṇato tathā sva-rūpe ekatvapūrvak pariṇamato evo te ‘svasamay’ em pratītarūp karavāmān āve chhe; paṇ jyāre te, anādi avidyārūpī je keḷ tenā mūḷanī gāṇṭh jevo je (puṣhṭa thayelo) moh tenā uday anusār pravr̥uttinā ādhīnapaṇāthī, darshanagnānasvabhāvamān niyat vr̥uttirūp ātmatattvathī chhūṭī paradravyanā nimittathī utpanna moharāgadveṣhādi bhāvo sāthe ekatvagatapaṇe (ekapaṇun mānīne) varte chhe tyāre pudgalakarmanā pradeshomān sthit hovāthī yugapad parane ekatvapūrvak jāṇato tathā pararūpe ekatvapūrvak pariṇamato evo te ‘parasamay’ em pratītarūp karavāmān āve chhe. ā rīte jīv nāmanā padārthane svasamay ane parasamay — evun dvividhapaṇun pragaṭ thāy chhe.
