yathāgnirindhanamastīndhanamagnirastyagnerindhanamastīndhanasyāgnirasti, agnerindhanaṁ pūrvamāsīdi- ndhanasyāgniḥ pūrvamāsīt, agnerindhanaṁ punarbhaviṣyatīndhanasyāgniḥ punarbhaviṣyatītīndhan evā- sadbhūtāgnivikalpatvenāpratibuddhaḥ kaścillakṣyet, tathāhametadasmyetadahamasti mamaitadastyetasyāhamasmi, mamaitatpūrvamāsīdetasyāhaṁ pūrvamāsaṁ, mamaitatpunarbhaviṣyatyetasyāhaṁ punarbhaviṣyāmīti paradravya evāsadbhūtātmavikalpatvenāpratibuddho lakṣyetātmā . nāgniriṁdhanamasti nendhanamagnirastyagni- ragnirastīndhanamindhanamasti nāgnerindhanamasti nendhanasyāgnirastyagneragnirastīndhanasyendhanamasti, nāgnerindhanaṁ pūrvamāsīnnendhanasyāgniḥ pūrvamāsīdagneragniḥ pūrvamāsīdindhanasyendhanaṁ pūrvamāsīt, nāgnerindhanaṁ punarbhaviṣyati nendhanasyāgniḥ punarbhaviṣyatyagneragniḥ punarbhaviṣyatīndhanasyendhanaṁ punarbhaviṣyatīti kasyacidagnāvev sadbhūtāgnivikalpavannāhametadasmi naitadahamastya- hamahamasmyetadetadasti, na mamaitadasti naitasyāhamasmi mamāhamasmyetasyaitadasti, na hoūn̐gā, — [etat tu asadbhūtam ] aisā jhūṭhā [ātmavikalpaṁ ] ātmavikalpa [karoti ] karatā hai vah [sammūḍhaḥ ] mūḍh hai, mohī hai, ajñānī hai; [tu ] aur jo puruṣ [bhūtārthaṁ ] paramārtha vastusvarūpako [jānan ] jānatā huā [tam ] vaisā jhūṭhā vikalpa [na karoti ] nahīṁ karatā vah [asammūḍhaḥ ] mūḍh nahīṁ, jñānī hai .
ṭīkā : — (dr̥ṣṭāntase samajhāte haiṁḥ) jaise koī puruṣ īṁdhan aur agniko milā huā dekhakar aisā jhūṭhā vikalpa kare ki ‘‘agni hai so īṁdhan hai aur īṁdhan hai so agni hai; agnikā īṁdhan hai, īṁdhanakī agni hai; agnikā īṁdhan pahale thā, īṁdhanakī agni pahale thī; agnikā īṁdhan bhaviṣyameṁ hogā, īṁdhanakī agni bhaviṣyameṁ hogī;’’ — aisā īṁdhanameṁ hī agnikā vikalpa karatā hai vah jhūṭhā hai, usase apratibuddha (ajñānī) koī pahicānā jātā hai, isīprakār koī ātmā paradravyameṁ hī asatyārtha ātmavikalpa (ātmākā vikalpa) kare ki ‘‘maiṁ yah paradravya hūn̐, yah paradravya mujhasvarūp hai; yah merā paradravya hai, is paradravyakā maiṁ hūn̐; merā yah pahale thā, maiṁ isakā pahale thā; merā yah bhaviṣyameṁ hogā; maiṁ isakā bhaviṣyameṁ hoūn̐gā’’; — aise jhūṭhe vikalpoṁse apratibuddha (ajñānī) pahicānā jātā hai .
aur, ‘‘agni hai vah īndhan nahīṁ hai, īṁdhan hai vah agni nahīṁ hai, — agni hai vah agni hī hai, īṁdhan hai vah īṁdhan hī hai; agnikā īṁdhan nahīṁ, īṁdhanakī agni nahīṁ, — agnikī hī agni hai, īṁdhanakā īṁdhan hai; agnikā īṁdhan pahale nahīṁ thā, īṁdhanakī agni pahale nahīṁ thī, — agnikī agni pahale thī īṁdhanakā īṁdhan pahale thā; agnikā īṁdhan bhaviṣyameṁ nahīṁ hogā, īṁdhanakī agni bhaviṣyameṁ nahīṁ hogī, — agnikī agni hī bhaviṣyameṁ hogī, īṁdhanakā īṁdhan hī bhaviṣyameṁ hogā’’;
