bodhapāhuḍ][137 hai. parakr̥utanilayanivās arthāt jisamen dūsare kā banāyā nilay jo vāstikā ādi usamen nivās hotā hai, jisamen apane ko kr̥ut, kārit, anumodanā, man, vachan, kāy dvārā doṣh na lagā ho aisī dūsare kī banāī huī vāstikā ādi men rahanā hotā hai––aisī pravajyā kahī hai. bhāvārthaḥ––anyamatī kaī log bāhya men vastrādik rakhate hain, kaī ayudh rakhate hain, kaī sukhake liye āsan chalāchal rakhate hain, kaī upāshray ādi rahane kā nivās banā kar usamen rahate hain aur apane ko dīkṣhā sahit mānate hain, unake bheṣh mātra hai, jain dīkṣhā to jaisī kahī vaisī hī hai.. 51.. āge phir kahate hainḥ––
mayarāyadosarahiyā pavvajjā erisā bhaṇiyā.. 52..

arthaḥ––kaisī hai pravajyā? upashamakṣhamadamayuktā arthāt upasham to mohakarmake udayakā
abhāvarūp shāntapariṇām aur kṣhamā arthāt krodhakā abhāvarūp uttamakṣhamā tathā dam arthāt
indriyoṅko viṣhayon men nahīn pravartānā–––in bhāvonse yukta hai, sharīr sanskār varjitā arthāt
snānādi dvārā sharīr ko sajānā isase rahit hai, jisamen rūkṣha arthāt tel ādikā mardan
sharīrake nahīn hai. mad, rāg, dveṣh rahit hai, isaprakār pravajyā kahī hai.

arthaḥ––kaisī hai pravajyā?––––ki jisake mūrḥabhāv, agnānabhāv viparīt huā hai arthāt
dūr huā hai. anyamatī ātmā kā svarūp sarvathā ekāntase anekaprakār bhinna–bhinna kahakar vād
karate hain, unake ātmā ke svarūp men mūrḥabhāv hai. jain muniyoṅke anekāntase siddha kiyā huā
yathārtha gnān hai isaliye mūrḥabhāv nahīn hai. jisamen āṭh karma aur mithyātvādi praṇaṣhṭa ho gaye hain,
jainadīkṣhāmen atattvārthashraddhānarūp mithyātvakā abhāv hai, isaliye samyaktva nāmak guṇ dvārā
vishuddha hain, nirmal hain, samyaktvasahit dīkṣhā men doṣh nahīn rahatā; isaprakār pravajyā kahīn hai..

bhāvanti bhavvapurisā kammakkhayakāraṇe bhaṇiyā.. 54..
bhāvayanti bhavyapuruṣhāḥ karmakṣhayakāraṇe bhaṇitā.. 54..
arthaḥ––pravajyā jinamārga men chhah sanhananavāle jīvake honā kahā hai, nirganrantha svarūp hai,
sab parigrahase rahit yathājātasvarūp hai. isakī bhavyapuruṣh hī bhāvanā karate haĩn. isaprakārakī
pravajyā karmake kṣhayakā kāraṇ kahī hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––vajrar̥uṣhabhanārāch ādi chhah sharīrake sanhanan kahen hain, unamen sab men hī dīkṣhā
nahīn hai ki dr̥urḥ sanhanan vajrar̥uṣhabh ādi hain unamen hī dīkṣhā ho aur asansr̥upāṭik sanhananamen na
ho, isaprakār nirgrantharūp dīkṣhā to asamprāptāsr̥upāṭikā
samyaktvaguṇathī shuddha chhe, –dīkṣhā kahī āvī jine. 53.

arthāt antaraṅg parigrah aur us tilake tuṣhamātra bāhya parigrahakā saṅgrah nahīn hai is prakār kī
pravajyā jisaprakār sarvagnadev ne kahī hai usīprakār hai, anyaprakār pravajyā nahīn hai aisā niyam
jānanā chāhiye. shvetāmbar ādi kahate hain ki apavādamārga men vastrādikakā saṅgrah sādhu ko kahā
hai vah sarvagnake sūtra men to nahīn kahā hai. unhonne kalpit sūtra banāye hain unamen kahā hai vah
kāladoṣh hai.. 55..

shilāyān kāṣhṭhe bhūmitale sarvāṇi ārohati sarvatra.. 56..

arthaḥ––jis pravajyā men pashu–tiryañch, mahilā (strī), ṣhaṇḍh (napunsak), inakā saṅg tathā
shāstra – jinavachanoṅkā paṭhan–pāṭhan aur dhyān arthāt dharma – shukla dhyān inase yukta rahate
haĩn. isaprakār pravajyā jinadevane kahī hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––jinadīkṣhā lekar kusaṅgati kare, vikathādik kare aur pramādī rahe to dīkṣhā
mārga hai, anya sansāramārga haĩn.. 57..

arthaḥ––jinadev ne pravajyā isaprakār kahī hai ki–––tap arthāt bāhya – abhyantar bārah
prakār ke tap tathā vrat arthāt pān̐ch mahāvrat aur guṇ arthāt inake bhedarūp uttaraguṇonse shuddha
hai. ‘sanyam’ arthāt indriy – manakā nirodh, chhahakāyake jīvoṅkī rakṣhā, ‘samyaktva’ arthāt
tattvārthashraddhānalakṣhaṇ nishchay–vyavahārarūp samyagdarshan tathā inake ‘guṇ’ arthāt mūlaguṇon se
shuddhā, atichār rahit nirmal hai aur jo pravajyā ke guṇ kahe unase shuddha hai, bheṣhamātra hī nahīn
hai; isaprakār shuddha pravajyā kahī jātī hai. in guṇoṅke binā pravajyā shuddha nahīn hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––tap vrat samyaktva in sahit aur jinamen inake mūlaguṇ tathā atichāroṅkā
vah dīkṣhā shuddha nahīn hai.. 58..
āge pravajyā ke kathan kā saṅkoch karet hainḥ–––
2 sanskr̥it saṭīk prati men ‘āyatan’ isakī san0 ‘ātmatva’ isaprakār hai.
chhe guṇavishuddha, –sunirmaḷā dīkṣhā kahī āvī jine. 58.

arthaḥ––isaprakār pūrvokta prakār se āyatan arthāt dīkṣhā kā sthān jo nirgranth muni usake guṇ jitane hain unase pajjatā arthāt paripūrṇa anya bhī jo bahutase guṇ dīkṣhāmen hone chāhiye ve guṇ jisamen hon isaprakār kī pravajyā jinamārga men prasiddha hai. usīprakār saṅkṣhepase kahī hai. kaisā hai jinamārga? jisamen samyaktva vishuddha hai, jisamen atīchār rahit samyaktva pāyā jātā hai aur nirgrantharūp hai arthāt jisamen bāhya antaraṅg –parigrah nahīn hai. bhāvārthaḥ––isaprakār pūrvokta pravajyā nirmal samyaktvasahit nirgrantharūp jinamārgamen kahī hai. anya naiyāyik, vaisheṣhik, sāṅkhya, vedānta, mīmānsak, pātañjali aur bauddha ādik matamen nahīn hai. kāladoṣhase bhraṣhṭa ho gaye aur jain kahalāte hain isaprakārake shvetāmbarādikommen bhī nahīn hai.. 59.. isaprakār pravajyāke svarūpakā varṇan kiyā. āge bodhapāhuḍako saṅkochate hue āchārya kahate hainḥ–––
bhavvajaṇabohaṇatthan chhakkāy hiyaṅkaran uttan.. 60..
bhavyajan bodhanārthan ṣhaṭkāyahitaṅkaran uktam.. 60..
arthaḥ––jisamen antaraṅg bhāvarūp artha shuddha hai aur aisā hī rūpastha arthāt bāhyasvarūp
mokṣhamārga jaisā jinamārgamen jinadevane kahā hai vaisā chhahakāyake jīvoṅkā hit karane vālā mārga
bhavyajīvoṅke sambodhanake liye kahā hai. isaprakār āchārya ne apanā abhiprāy prakaṭ kiyā hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––is bodhapāhuḍ men āyatan ādi se lekar pravajyāparyanta gyārah sthal kahe.
rūp – chhahakāyake jīvoṅkā hit karane vālā hai, jisamen ekendriy ādi asainī paryanta jīvoṅkī
rakṣhākā adhikār hai, sainī pañchendriy jīvon kī rakṣhā bhī karātā hai

bodhapāhuḍ][143 aur mokṣhamārgakā upadesh karake sansārakā duḥkh meṭakar mokṣhako prāpta karātā hai, isaprakārakā mārga (–upāy) bhavyajīvon ke sambodhaneke liye kahā hai. jagat ke prāṇī anādi se lagākar mithyāmārgamen pravartanakar sansāramen bhramaṇ karate hain, isaliye duḥkh dūr karane ke liye āyatan ādi gyārah sthān dharmake ṭhikānekā āshray lete hain; agnānī jīv is sthān par anyathā svarūp sthāpit karake unase sukh lenā chāhate hain, kintu yathārtha ke binā sukh kahān̐? isaliye āchārya dayālu hokar jaise sarvagnane kahe vaise hī āyatan ādikā svarūp saṅkṣhepase yathārtha kahā hai? isako bān̐chon, parḥo, dhāraṇ karo aur isakī shraddhā karo. isake anusār tadrūp pravr̥utti karo. isaprakār karane se vartamānameh sukhī raho aur āgāmī sansāraduḥkh se chhūṭ kar paramānandasvarūp mokṣhako prāpta karo. isaprakār āchārya kā kahane kā abhiprāy hai. yahān̐ koī pūchhe ––is bodhapāhuḍ men vyavahāradharma kī pravr̥uttike gyārah sthān kahe. inakā vishaleṣhaṇ kiyā ki–––ye chhahakāyake jīvon ke hit karane vāle haĩn. kintu anyamatī inako anyathā sthāpit kar pravr̥utta karate hain ve hinsā rūp hain aur jīvoṅke hit karane vāle nahīn haĩn. ye gyārah hī sthān sanyamī muni aur arahanta, siddha ko hī kahen haĩn. ye to chhah kāyake jīvoṅke hit karane vāle hī hain isaliye pūjya haĩn. yah to satya hai, aur jahān̐ rahate hain isaprakār ākāsh ke pradesharūp kṣhetra tathā parvatakī guphā, vanādik tathā akr̥utrim chaityālay ye svayamev banen hue hain, unako bhī prayojan aur nimitta vichār kar upachāramātra se chhahakāy ke jīvon ke hit karane vāle kahen to virodh nahīn hain, kyoṅki ye pradesh jaṛ hain, ye buddhipūrvak kisī kā bhalā burā nahīn karate hain tathā jaṛ ko sukh–duḥkh ādi phalakā anubhav nahīn hai, isaliye ye bhī vyavahār se pūjya hain, kyoṅki arahantādik jahān̐ rahate hain ve kṣhetra–nivās ādik prashasta hain, isaliye un arahantādike āshray se ye kṣhetrādik bhī pūjya hain; parantu prashna –gr̥uhastha jinamandir banāve, vastikā, pratimā banāve aur pratiṣhṭhā pūjā kare usamen to chhahakāyake jīvoṅkī virādhanā hotī hai, yah upadesh aur pravr̥utti kī bāhulyatā kaise hai?
isakā samādhān isaprakār hai ki–––gr̥uhastha arahanta, siddha, muniyoṅkā upāsak hai; ye jahān̐ sākṣhāt hon vahān̐ to unakī vandanā, pūjan karatā hī hai. jahān̐ ye sākṣhāt na hon vahān̐ parokṣha saṅkalpa kar vandanā – pūjan karatā hai tathā unake rahanekā kṣhetra tathā ye mukta hue kṣhetra men tathā akr̥utrim chaityālay men unakā saṅkalpa kar vandanā va pūjan karatā hai. isamen anurāgavisheṣh sūchit hotā hai; phir unakī mudrā, pratimā tadākār banāve aur usako mandir banākar pratiṣhṭhā kar sthāpit kare tathā nitya pūjan kare isamen atyanta anurāg sūchit hotā hai, us anurāgase vishiṣhṭa puṇyabandha hotā hai aur us mandiramen chhahakāyake jīvoṅke hitakī rakṣhākā upadesh hotā hai tathā nirantar sunane vāle aur dhāraṇ karane vāle ahinsā dharma kī shraddhā dr̥urḥ hotī hai, tathā unakī tadākār pratimā

144] [aṣhṭapāhuḍ dekhane vāle ke shānt bhāv hote hain, dhyānakī mudrākā svarūp jānā jātā hai aur vītarāgadharmase anurāg visheṣh honese puṇyabandha hotā hai, isaliye inako bhī chhahakāyake jīvoṅkā hit karanevāle upachārase kahate haĩn. jinamandir vastikā pratimā banāne men tathā pūjā–pratiṣhṭhā karane men ārambha hotā hai, usamen kuchh hinsā bhī hotī hai. aisā ārambha to gr̥uhasthakā kārya hai, isamen gr̥uhasthako alpa pāp kahā, puṇya bahut kahā hai, kyoṅki gr̥uhasthake padamen nyāyakārya karake nyāyapūrvak dhan upārjan karanā, rahaneke liye makān banavānā, vivāhādik karanā aur balapūrval ārambha kar ahārādik svayam banānā tathā khānā ityādik yadyapi hinsā hotī hai to bhī gr̥uhasthako isakā mahāpāp nahīn kahā jātā hai. gr̥uhasthake to mahāpāp mithyātvakā sevan karanā, anyāy, chorī ādimen dhan upārjan karanā, tras jīvoṅko mārakar māns khānā aur parastrī–sevan karanā ye mahāpāp haĩn. gr̥uhasthāchār chhoṛakar muni ho jāve tab gr̥uhasthake nyāyakārya bhī anyāy hī haĩn. munike bhī āhār ādikī pravr̥uttimen kuchh hinsā hotī hai usase muni ko hinsak nahīn kahā jātā hai, vaise hī gr̥uhasthake nyāyapūrvak apane padake yogya ārambhake kāryommen alpa pāp hī kahā jātā hai, isaliye jinamandir, vastikā aur pūjā–pratiṣhṭhā ke kāryommen ārambhakā alpa pāp hai; mokṣhamārga men pravartane vālonse ati anurāg hotā hai aur unakī prabhāvanā karate hain, unako āhāradānādik dete hain aur unakā vaiyāvr̥utyādi karate haĩn. ye samyaktvake aṅg hain aur mahān pūṇya ke kāraṇ hain, isaliye gr̥uhasthako sadā hī karanā yogya hai. aur gr̥uhastha hokar ye kārya na kare to gnāt hotā hai ki isake dharma anurāg viṣhesh nahīn hai.
prashnaḥ–––gr̥uhasthako jisake binā chale nahīn isaprakār ke kārya to karanā hī paṛe aur dharmapaddhati men ārambhakā kārya karake pāp kyon milāve, sāmāyik, pratikramaṇ, prauṣhadh ādi karake puṇya upajāve. usako kahate hain–––yadi tum isaprakār kaho to tumhāre pariṇām to is jāti ke hain nahīn, keval bāhyakriyā mātra men hī puṇya samajhate ho. bāhya men bahu ārambhī parigrahī kā man, sāmāyik, pratikramaṇ ādi nirārambh kāryon men visheṣharūpase lagatā nahīn hai yah anubhavagamya hai, tumhāre apane bhāvoṅkā anubhav nahīn hai; keval bāhya sāmāyikādi nirārambh kāryoṅkā bheṣh dhāraṇ kar baiṭho to kuchh vishiṣhṭa puṇya nahīn hai, sharīrādik bāhya vastu to jaṛ hain, keval jaṛ kī kriyākā phal to ātmā ko milatā nahīn hai. apane bhāv jitane ansh men bāhyakriyā men lagen utane ansh men shubhāshubh phal apane ko lagatā hai; isaprakār vishiṣhṭa puṇya to bhāvoṅke anusār hai.

ārambhī – parigrahī ke bhāv to pūjā, pratiṣhṭhādik baḍẹ arambh men hī visheṣh anurāg sahit lagate haĩn. jo gr̥uhasthāchār ke baṛe arambha se virakta hogā so use tyāgakar apanā pad barḥāvegā, jab gr̥uhasthāchār ke baṛe ārambh chhoṛegā tab usī tarah dharmapravr̥uttike baḍẹ ārambha pad ke anusār ghaṭāvegā. muni hogā tab ārambha kyon karegā? ataḥ tab to sarvathā ārambha nahīn karegā, isaliye mithyādr̥uṣhṭi bāhyabuddhi jo bāhya kāryamātra hī ko puṇya – pāp mokṣhamārga samajhate hain unakā upadesh sun kar apane ko agnānī nahīn honā chāhiye. puṇya – pāpake bandhamen shubhāshubh hī pradhān hain aur puṇya–pāparahit mokṣhamārga hai, usamen samyagdarshanādikarūp ātmapariṇām pradhān hai. [heyabuddhi sahit] dharmānurāg mokṣhamārga kā sahakārī hai aur (ānshik vītarāg bhāv sahit) dharmānurāg ke tīvra – mandake bhed bahut hain, isaliye apane bhāvoṅko yathārtha pahichānakar apanī padavī, sāmarthya pahichān – samajhakar shraddhān–gnān aur usamen pravr̥utti karanā; apanā bhalā – burā apane bhāvon ke ādhīn hai, bāhya paradravya to nimitta mātra hai, upādān kāraṇ ho to nimitta bhī sahakārī ho aur upādān na ho to nimitta kuchh bhī nahīn karatā hai, isaprakār is bodhapāhuḍ kā āshay jānanā chāhiye. isako achchhī tarah samajhakar āyatanādik jaise kahe vaise aur inakā vyavahār bhī bāhya vaisī hī tathā chaityagr̥uh, pratimā, jinabimb, jinamudrā ādi dhātu – pāṣhāṇādikakā bhī vyavahār vaisā hī jānakar shraddhān aur pravr̥utti karanī. anyamati anek prakār svarūp bigāṛ kar pravr̥utti karate hain unakī buddhi kalpit jānakar upāsanā nahīn karanī. is dravyavyavahār kā prarūpaṇ pravajyā ke sthal men ādi se dūsarī gāthā men bimb1 chaityālayatrik aur jinabhavan ye bhī muniyoṅke dhyān karane yogya hain isaprakār kahā hai so gr̥uhastha jab isakī pravr̥utti karate hain yah ye muniyoṅke dhyān karane yogya hote hain; isaliye jo jinamandir, pratimā, pūjā, pratiṣhṭhā ādik ke sarvathā niṣhedh karane vāle vah sarvathā ekāntīkī tarah mithyādr̥uṣhṭi hain, unakī saṅgati nahīn karanā. [mūlāchār pr̥u0 492 a0 10 gāthā 96 men kahā hai ki ‘‘ shraddhā bhraṣhṭoṅke samparkakī apekṣhā (gr̥uh men) pravech karanā achchhā hai kyoṅki vivāh men mithyātva nahīn hogā, parantu aise gaṇ to sarva doṣhoṅke ākar hain usamen mithyātvādi doṣh utpanna hote hain ataḥ inase alag rahanā hī achchhā hai’’ aisā upadesh hai] –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 1 gāthā 2 men bimbakī jagah ‘vach’ aisā pāṭh hai.

arthaḥ––shabdake vikār se utpanna hue isaprakār akṣhararūp pariṇām se bhāṣhā sūtron men
bhadrabāhunāmak pañcham shrutakevalī ne jānā aur apane shiṣhya vishākhāchāyar ādi ko kahā. vah
unhonne jānā vahī artharūp vishākhāchārya kī paramparā se chalā āyā. vahī artha āchārya kahate
hain, hamane kahā hai, vah hamārī buddhi se kalpit karake nahīn kahā gayā hai, isaprakār abhiprāy hai

arthaḥ––bhadrabāhu nām āchārya jayavant hoven, kaise hain? jinako bārah aṅgoṅkā visheṣh gnān
hain, jinako chaudah pūrvoṅkā vipul vistār hai isīliye shrutagnānī haĩn. pūrva bhāvagnān sahit
akṣharātmak shrutagnān unake thā, ‘gamak guru’ hain, jo sūtra ke artha ko prāpta kar usī prakār
vākyārtha kare usako ‘gamak’ kahate hain, unake bhī guruon men pradhān hain, bhagavān hain–––––
surāsuron se pūjya hain, ve jayavant homvẽn. isaprakār kahane men unako stutirūp namaskār sūchit hai.
‘jayati’ dhātu sarvotkr̥uṣhṭa artha men hai vah sarvotkr̥uṣhṭa kahen se hī namaskār ātā hai.
bhāvārthaḥ–––bhadrabāhusvāmī pañcham shrutakevalī hue. unakī paramparā se shāstrakā artha
stutirūp namaskār kiyā hai. isaprakār bodhapāhuḍ samāpta kiyā hai.. 62..

isaprakār maṅgalapūrvak pratignā karake shrī kundakundāchāryakr̥ut bhāvapāhuḍakī gāthābaddha deshabhāṣhā vachanikā likhate haĩn. pratham āchārya namaskārarūp maṅgal karake grantha karane kī pratignā kā sūtra kahate hainḥ––––
vochchhāmi bhāvapāhuḍamayasese sañjade sirasā.. 1..
vakṣhyāmi bhāyaprābhr̥utamavasheṣhān sanyatān shirasā.. 1..
arthaḥ–––āchārya kahate hain ki main bhāvapāhuḍ nāmak granthako kahūn̐gā. pahile kyā karake?
jinavarendra arthāt tīrthaṅkar paramadev tathā siddha arthāt aṣhṭakarmakā nāsh karake siddhapad ko
prāpta hue aur avasheṣh sanyat arthāt āchārya, upādhyāy aur sarvasādhu isaprakār pañchaparameṣhṭhī ko
mastak se vandanā karake kahūn̐gā. kaise hain pañchaparameṣhṭhī? nar arthāt manuṣhya, sur arthāt
svagaravāsīdev, bhavanendra arthāt pātālavāsī dev, –inake indroṅke dvārā vandane yogya haĩn.

bhāvārthaḥ––āchārya ‘bhāvapāhuḍ’ grantha banāte hain; vah bhāvapradhān pañchaparameṣhṭhī hain, unako ādi men namaskār yukta hai, kyoṅki jinavarendra to isaprakār hain–––jin arthāt guṇ shreṇī nirjarā yukta isaprakār ke avirat samyagdr̥uṣhṭi ādiko men var arthāt shreṣhṭha aise gaṇadharādikommen indra tīrthaṅkar paramadev hain, vah guṇashreṇī nirjarā shuddhabhāv se hī hotī hai. ve tīrthaṅkarabhāvake phalako prāpta hue, ghātikarmakā nāsh kar kevalagnānako prāpta kiyā, usīprakār sarva karmoṅkā nāsh kar, paramashuddhabhāvako prāpta kar siddha hue, āchārya, upādhyāy shuddhabhāvake ekadeshako prāpta kar pūrṇatāko svayam sādhate hain tathā anyako shuddhabhāvakī dīkṣhā–shikṣhā dete hain, isīprakār sādhu hain ve bhī shuddhabhāvako svayam sādhate hain aur shuddhabhāvakī mahimā se tīnalokake prāṇiyon dvārā pūjane yogya vandane yogya hain, isaliye ‘bhāvaprābhr̥ut’ ke ādimen inako namaskār yukta hai. mastak dvārā namaskār karanemen sab aṅg ā gaye, kyoṅki mastak sab aṅgon men uttam hai. svayam namaskār kiyā tab apane bhāvapūrvak hī huā, tab ‘man–vachan–kāy’ tīnon hī ā gaye, isaprakār jānanā chāhiye .. 1.. āge kahate hain ki liṅg dravya–bhāvake bhed se do prakār kā hai, inamen bhāvaliṅg paramārtha haiḥ––
bhāvo kāraṇ bhūdo guṇadosāṇan jiṇā 1benti.. 2..
bhāvo kāraṇabhūtaḥ guṇadoṣhāṇān jinā 2bruvanti.. 2..
arthaḥ––bhāv pratham liṅg hai, isaliye he bhavya! tū dravyaliṅg hai usako paramārtharūp mat
jān, kyoṅki guṇ aur doṣhoṅkā kāraṇabhūt bhāv hī hai, isaprakār jin bhagavān kahate haĩn.

bhāvārthaḥ––guṇ jo svarga–mokṣhakā honā aur doṣh arthāt narakādik sansār kā honā inakā kāraṇ bhagavānane bhāvoṅko hī kahā hai, kyoṅki kāraṇ kāryake pahile hotā hai. yahān̐ muni – shrāvakale dravyaliṅgake pahile bhāvaliṅg arthāt samyagdarshanādi nirmalabhāv ho to sachchā muni – shrāvak hotā hai, isaliye bhāvaliṅg hī pradhān hai vahī paramārtha hai, isaliye dravyaliṅgako paramārtha na jānanā, isaprakār upadesh kiyā hai. yahān̐ koī pūchhe–––bhāvasvarūp kyā hai? isakā samādhān–––bhāvakā svarūp to āchārya āge kaheṅge to bhī yahān̐ bhī kuchh kahate hain–––is lok men chhah dravya hain, inamen jīv pudgalakā vartan prakaṭ dekhane men ātā hai–––jīv chetanāsvarūp hai aur pudgal sparsha, ras, gandh aur varṇarūp jaṛ hai. inakī avasthā se avasthāntararūp honā aise pariṇām ko ‘bhāv’ kahate haĩn. jīv kā svabhāv – pariṇāmarūp bhāv to darshan–gnān hai aur pudgal karmake nimitta se gnān men moh–rāg–dveṣh honā ‘vibhāv bhāv’ haĩn. pudgal ke sparsha se sparshāntar, rasase rasāntar ityādi guṇonse guṇāntar honā ‘svabhāvabhāv’ hai aur paramāṇuse skandh honā tathā skandhase anya skandh honā aur jīvake bhāvake nimitta se karmarūp honā ye ‘vibhāvabhāv’ haĩn. isaprakār inake paraspar nimitta–naimittik bhāv hote haĩn. pudgal to jaṛ hai, isake naimittik bhāv se kuchh sukh–duḥkh ādi nahīn hain aur jīv chetan hai, isake nimitta se bhāv hote hain ataḥ jīv ko svabhāv bhāvarūp rahanekā aur naimittik bhāvarūp na pravartane kā upadesh hai. jīvake pudgal karmake sanyog se dehādik dravyakā sambandha hai, –––is bāhyarūp ko dravya kahate hain, aur ‘bhāv’ se dravya kī pravr̥utti hotī hai, isaprakār dravya kī pravr̥utti hotī hai. isaprakār dravya – bhāv kā svarūp jānakar svabhāv men pravarte vibhāv men na pravarte usake paramānanda sukh hotā hai; aur vibhāv rāg – dveṣh – moharūp pravarte, usake sansār sambandhī duḥkh hotā hai.
dravyarūp pudgal kā vibhāv hai, is sambandhī jīv ko duḥkh–sukh nahīn hotā ataḥ bhāv hī pradhān hai, aisā na ho to kevalī bhagavān ko bhī sānsārik sukh–duḥkh kī prāpti ho parantu aisā nahīn hai. isaprakār jīv ke gnān–darshan to svabhāv hai aur rāg–dveṣh– moh ye svabhāv vibhāv hain aur pudgal ke sparshādik tathā skandhādik svabhāv vibhāv haĩn. unamen jīv kā hit– ahit bhāv pradhān hai, pudgaladravya sambandhī pradhān nahīn hai. yah to sāmānyarūp se svabhāv kā svarūp hai aur isī kā visheṣh samyagdarshan – gnān –chāritra to jīvakā svabhāv bhāv hai, isamen samyagdarshan bhāv pradhān hai. isake binā sab bāhya kriyā mithyādarshan – gnān –chāritra hain ye vibhāv hain aur sansār ke kāraṇ hain, isaprakār jānanā chāhiye.. 2..

āge kahate hain ka bāhyadravya nimittamātra hai isakā ‘abhāv’ jīvake bhāv kī vishuddhatākā nimitta jān bāhyadravya kā tyāg karate hainḥ––

bāhyatyāgaḥ viphalaḥ abhyantaragranthayuktastha.. 3..
arthaḥ––bāhya parigrah tyāg bhāvoṅkī vishuddhike liye kiyā jātā hai, parantu abhyantar
parigrah jo rāgāgik hain, unase yukta bāhya parigrah kā tyāg niṣhphal hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––antaraṅg bhāv binā bāhya tyāgādikakī pravr̥utti niṣhphal hai, yah prasiddha hai..
āge kahate hain ki karoṛon bhavommen tap kare to bhī bhāv binā siddhi nahīn haiḥ––
jammantarāi bahuso lambiyahattho galiyavattho.. 4..
janmāntarāṇi bahushaḥ lambitahastaḥ galitavastraḥ.. 4..
arthaḥ––yadi kaī janmāntaron tak koṛākoṛi saṅkhyā kāl tak hāth lambe laṭakākar,
vastrādikakā tyāg karake tapashcharaṇ kare, to bhī bhāvarahit ko siddhi nahīn hotī hai.
chhe viphaḷ bāhir–tyāg āntar–granthathī sanyuktane. 3.
chho koṭikoṭi bhavo viṣhe nirvastra lambitakar rahī,

bhāvārthaḥ––bhāv men mithyādarshan, mithyāgnān, mithyāchāritrarūp vibhāv rahit samyagdarshan – gnān –chāritrarūp svabhāv men pravr̥utti na ho, to koṛākoṛi bhav tak kāyotsargapūrvak nagnamudrā dhāraṇakar tapashcharaṇ kare to bhī muktikī prāpti nahīn hotī hai, isaprakār bhāvommen samyagdarshan – gnān – chāritrarūp bhāv pradhān hai, aur inamen bhī samyagdarshan pradhān hai, kyoṅki isake binā gnān – chāritra mithyā kahe hain, isaprakār jānanā chāhiye.. 4.. āge is hī artha ko dr̥urḥ karate hainḥ––
bāhiraganthachchāo bhāvavihūṇassa kin kuṇai.. 5..
bāhyagranthatyāgaḥ bhāvavihīnasya kin karoti.. 5..
arthaḥ––yadi muni ban kar pariṇām ashuddha hote hue bāhya parigrah ko chhoṛe to bāhya
parigrah kā tyāg us bhāvarahit muniko kyā kare? arthāt kuchh bhī lābh nahīn karatā hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––jo bāhya parigrah ko chhoṛakar muni ban jāve aur pariṇām parigraharūp ashuddha
samyagdarshanādi bhāv binā karmanirjarārūp kārya nahīn hotā haĩn.. 5..
pahalī gāthā se isamen yah visheṣhatā hai ki yadi munipad bhī leve aur pariṇām ujjaval

arthaḥ––he shivapurī ke pathik! pratham bhāvako jān, bhāv rahit liṅgase tujhe kyā
prayojan hai? shivapurīkā panth jinabhagavantonne prayatna sādhya kahā hai.
bhāvārthaḥ––mokṣhamārga jinavar devane samyagdarshan – gnān –chāritra ātmabhāv svarūp
dravyamātra liṅg se kyā sādhya hai? isaprakār upadesh hai.. 6..
āge kahate hain ki dravyaliṅg ādi tune bahut dhāraṇ kiye, parantu usase kuchh bhī siddhi
gahiujjhiyāin vahuso bāhiraṇiggantharūvāin.. 7..
gr̥uhītojjhitāni bahushaḥ bāhyanirgranth rūpāṇi.. 7..
arthaḥ––he satpuruṣh! anādikāl se lagākar is ananta sansār men tune bhāvarahit
nirgarantha rūp bahut bār grahaṇ kiye aur chhoḍẹ.
he pathik! shivanagarī taṇo path yatnaprāpya kahyo jine. 6.
satpuruṣh! kāḷ anādithī niḥsīm ā sansāramān,

bhāvārthaḥ––bhāv jo nishchay samyagdarshan – gnān –chāritra unake binā bāhya nirgrantharūp dravyaliṅg sansār men anantakālase lagākar bahut bār dhāraṇ kiye aur chhoḍẹ to bhī kuchh siddhi na huī. chāron gatiyommen bhramaṇ hī karatā rahā.. 7.. vahī kahate hainḥ––
patto si tivvadukkhan bhāvahi jiṇabhāvaṇā jīvaḥ.. 8..
prāpto‘si tīvraduḥkhan bhāvay jinabhāvanā jīvaḥ.. 8..
arthaḥ––he jīv! tūne bhīṣhaṇ (bhayaṅkar) narakagati tathā tiryañchagatimen aur kudev,
isase tere sansār kā bhramaṇ miṭegā.
bhāvārthaḥ––ātmākī bhāvanā binā chār gatike duḥkh anādi kālase sansāramen prāpta kiye,
kar, isase sansārake bhramaṇ se rahit mokṣhako prāpta karegā, yah upadesh hai.. 8..
āge chār gatike duḥkhoṅko visheṣharūp se kahate hain, pahile narakagati ke duḥkhoṅko kahate
bhuttāī suirakālan duḥkaravāin ṇirantaran sahiyan.. 9..
ten jīv,! tīvra duḥkho sahyān; tun bhāv re! jinabhāvanā. 8.
bhīṣhaṇ sutīvra asahya duḥkho sapta narakāvāsamān

arthaḥ––he jīv! tune sāt narakabhūmiyoṅke narak–āvās bilommen dāruṇ arthāt tīvra
tathā bhayānak aur asahanīy arthāt sahe na jāven isaprakārake duḥkhoṅko bahut dīrgha kālatak
nirantar hī bhoge aur sahe.
bhāvārthaḥ––narak kī pr̥ithvī sāt hai, unamen bil bahut hain, unamen das hajār varṣhonse
duḥkh yah jīv anantakālase sahatā āyā hai.. 9..
āge tiryañch gati ke duḥkhoṅko kahate hainḥ––
patto si bhāvarahio tiriyagaīe chiran kālan.. 10..
arthaḥ––he jīv! tune tiryañch gati men khanan, uttāpan, jvalan, vedan, vyuchchhedan,
nirodhan ityādi duḥkh samyagdarshan ādi bhāvarahit hokar bahut kālaparyant prāpta kiye.
bhāvārthaḥ––is jīvane samyagdarshanādi bhāv kiye binā tiryañch gati men chirakāl tak duḥkh
ityādi dvārā duḥkh pāye, agnikāy men jalānā, bujhānā ādi dvārā duḥkh pāye, pavanakāy men
bhāre se halakā chalanā, phaṭanā ādi dvārā duḥkh pāye, vanaspatikāy men phāṛanā, chhedanā, rān̐dhanā
ādi dvārā duḥkh pāye, vikalatray men dūsare se rukanā, alpa āyuse maranā ityādi dvārā duḥkh
pāye,
2 mudrit sanskr̥it pratimen ‘svahit’ aisā pāṭh hai. ‘sahiy’ isakī chhāyā mẽn.
3 mudrit sanskr̥it pratimen ‘veyaṇ’ isakī sanskr̥it ‘vyañjan’ hai.
