uttaraḥtyān dayādikano anshamātra to āvyo! māṭe e lakṣhaṇone ativyāptipaṇun
hoy chhe, tethī enāthī sāchī parīkṣhā thāy nahi.
to kevī rīte thāy? jainadharmamān to samyagdarshangnānchāritrane mokṣhamārga kahyo chhe,
tyān satyadevādik vā jīvādikanun shraddhān karavāthī samyagdarshan thāy chhe, tene yathārtha jāṇatān
samyaggnān thāy chhe, tathā kharekharā rāgādik maṭatān samyakchāritra thāy chhe. have tenā svarūpanun
jevun jainamatamān nirūpaṇ karyun chhe, tevun koīpaṇ ṭhekāṇe nirūpaṇ karyun nathī, tathā jain vinā
anyamatīo evān kāryo karī shakatā nathī. māṭe e ja jainamatanun sāchun lakṣhaṇ chhe. e lakṣhaṇane
oḷakhīne je parīkṣhā kare chhe te ja shraddhānī chhe, paṇ e vinā anya prakārathī je parīkṣhā kare
chhe, te mithyādraṣhṭi ja rahe chhe.
vaḷī keṭalāk saṅgativaḍe jainadharma dhāre chhe, keṭalāk mahān puruṣhane jainadharmamān pravartatā
dekhī pote paṇ temān pravarte chhe, tathā koī dekhādekhī jainadharmanī shuddhaashuddha kriyāomān pravarte
chhe,ityādi anek prakāranā jīvo pote to vichārapūrvak jainadharmanān rahasyane pichhāṇatā nathī,
ane jainanām dharāve chhe, te sarva mithyādraṣhṭi ja jāṇavā.
hā, eṭalun kharun kejainamatamān pāpapravr̥utti visheṣh thaī shakatī nathī ane puṇyanān
nimitta ghaṇān chhe, tathā sāchā mokṣhamārganān kāraṇ paṇ tyān banyān rahe chhe; tethī je kuḷādikathī
paṇ jainī chhe teo bījāo karatān to bhalā ja chhe.
sānsārik prayojan arthe dhārmadhāārak vyavahārābhāsī
je jīv ājīvikā arthe, moṭāī māṭe, vā koī viṣhaykaṣhāyasambandhī prayojan vichārī
kapaṭathī jain thāy chhe te to pāpī ja chhe; kāraṇ keati tīvrakaṣhāy thatān ja evī buddhi thāy
chhe; temanun sulajhavun paṇ kaṭhaṇ chhe. jainadharma to sansāranāshanā arthe sevavāmān āve chhe, je e
vaḍe sānsārik prayojan sādhavā ichchhe chhe te moṭo anyāy kare chhe, māṭe te to mithyādraṣhṭi
ja chhe.
prashnaḥhinsādikavaḍe je kāryo karīe, te kāryo dharmasādhanavaḍe siddha karīe
to temān būrun shun thayun? ethī to banne prayojan sadhāy chhe?
uttaraḥpāpakārya ane dharmakāryanun ekasādhan karatān to pāp ja thāy. jem koī
dharmanā sādhanarūp chaityālay banāvī, tene ja strīsevanādi pāponun paṇ sādhan kare; to tethī
pāp ja thāy. hinsādik karī bhogādikanā arthe judun mandir banāve to banāvo, parantu
chaityālayamān bhogādik karavā yogya nathī; tem pūjā
shāstrādik ke je dharmanān sādhanarūp kāryo

uttaraḥteo pote kāī ājīvikādinun prayojan vichārī dharma sādhatā nathī, parantu
temane dharmātmā jāṇī keṭalāk svayam bhojanupakārādik kare chhe to temān kāī doṣh nathī; paṇ
je pote ja bhojanādikanun prayojan vichārī dharma sādhe chhe, te to pāpī ja chhe. je vairāgyavān
thaī munipaṇun aṅgīkār kare chhe, tene bhojanādinun prayojan hotun nathī, koī svayam bhojanādik
āpe to sharīranī sthiti arthe le, nahi to samatā rākhe chhe
saṅklesharūp thatā nathī, vaḷī teo
potānā hit arthe dharma sādhe chhe, tathā potāne jeno tyāg nathī evo upakār karāve chhe, paṇ
upakār karāvavāno abhiprāy nathī. koī sādharmī svayam upakār kare to kare, tathā na kare to
tethī potāne kāī saṅklesh thato nathī. have e pramāṇe to yogya chhe, paṇ jo pote ja ājīvikādinun
prayojan vichārī bāhyadharmasādhan kare ane koī bhojanādik upakār na kare to saṅklesh kare, yāchanā
kare, upāy kare vā dharmasādhanamān shithil thaī jāy, to tene pāpī ja jāṇavo.
e pramāṇe sānsārik prayojan arthe je dharma sādhe chhe te pāpī paṇ chhe ane mithyādraṣhṭi
to chhe ja.
e pramāṇe jainamatavāḷā paṇ mithyādraṣhṭi jāṇavā.
vyavahārābhāsī dhārmadhāārakonī sāmānya pravr̥utti
have temane dharmanun sādhan kevun hoy chhe te ahīn visheṣh darshāvīe chhīeḥ
je jīvo kuḷapravr̥uttivaḍe vā dekhādekhī lobhādikanā abhiprāyapūrvak dharma sādhan kare chhe,
temane to dharmadraṣhṭi ja nathī, kāraṇ ke teo jo bhakti kare chhe to chitta to kyāy chhe, draṣhṭi
pharyā kare chhe, tathā mukhethī pāṭhādik vā namaskārādik kare chhe, parantu te ṭhīk nathī. temane ‘‘hun
koṇ chhun , konī stuti karun chhun, shun prayojan arthe stuti karun chhun, tathā ā pāṭhano sho artha
chhe?’’ e ādinun kāī bhān nathī.
kadāchit kudevādikanī paṇ sevā karavā lāgī jāy chhe, tyān sudevgurushāstrādimān
ane kudevgurushāstrādimān visheṣhatānī pichhāṇ nathī.
vaḷī te dān āpe chhe to pātraapātranā vichārarahit jem potānī prashansā thāy tem
āpe chhe.

vratādik dhāre chhe to bāhyakriyā upar ja draṣhṭi chhe; temān paṇ koī sāchī kriyā kare
chhe to koī jūṭhī kare chhe, paṇ antaraṅg rāgādikabhāv thāy chhe teno to vichār ja nathī; athavā
bāhya sādhan paṇ rāgādik poṣhavā kare chhe.
vaḷī pūjāprabhāvanādi kārya kare chhe to tyān lokamān potānī jem moṭāī thāy vā
viṣhayakaṣhāy poṣhāy tem e kāryo kare chhe, tathā ghaṇān hinsādik upajāve chhe.
paṇ e kāryo to potānā vā anya jīvonā pariṇām sudhāravā māṭe kahyān chhe, vaḷī
tyān kiñchit hinsādik paṇ thāy chhe, parantu tyān thoḍo aparādh thāy ane ghaṇo guṇ thāy te
kārya karavun kahyun chhe; have pariṇāmonī to oḷakhāṇ nathī ke
ahīn aparādh keṭalo thāy chhe,
ane guṇ keṭalo thāy chhe, e pramāṇe naphātoṭānun ke vidhiavidhinun gnān nathī.
vaḷī shāstrābhyās kare chhe to tyān paddhatirūp pravarte chhe, jo vāñche chhe to bījāone
sambhaḷāvī de chhe, bhaṇe chhe to pote bhaṇī jāy chhe tathā sāmbhaḷe chhe to kahe chhe te sāmbhaḷī
le chhe; paṇ shāstrābhyāsanun je prayojan chhe, tene pote antaraṅgamān avadhārato nathī. ityādik
dharmakāryonā marmane pichhāṇato nathī.
koī to kuḷamān jem vaḍīlo pravarte tem amāre paṇ karavun, athavā bījāo kare chhe
tem amāre paṇ karavun, vā ā pramāṇe karavāthī amārā lobhādikanī siddhi thashe. ityādi
vichārapūrvak abhūtārthadharmane sādhe chhe.
vaḷī keṭalāk jīvo evā hoy chhe kejemane kanīk to kuḷādirūp buddhi chhe tathā kanīk
dharmabuddhi paṇ chhe, tethī teo kanīk pūrvokta prakāre paṇ dharmanun sādhan kare chhe, tathā kanīk
āgamamān kahyun chhe te pramāṇe paṇ potānā pariṇāmone sudhāre chhe; e pramāṇe temanāmān mishrapaṇun
hoy chhe.
dhārmabuddhithī dhārmadhāārak vyavahārābhāsī
vaḷī keṭalāk dharmabuddhithī dharma sādhe chhe parantu nishchayadharmane jāṇatā nathī, tethī teo
abhūtārtharūp dharmane sādhe chhe, arthāt mātra vyavahārasamyagdarshangnānchāritrane mokṣhamārga jāṇī
tenun sādhan kare chhe.

shāstramān devgurudharmanī pratīti karavāthī samyaktva hovun kahyun chhe, evī āgnā mānī

bhinna oḷakhato nathī. jem koī asamānajātīy manuṣhyādi paryāyomān bhinnatā na
jāṇī mithyādraṣhṭine dhāraṇ kare chhe tem ā paṇ asamānajātīy arahantaparyāyamān jīv
pudgalanān visheṣhaṇone bhinna na jāṇī mithyādraṣhṭipaṇun dhāraṇ kare chhe.
vaḷī je bāhya visheṣhaṇo chhe tene to jāṇī tenāthī arahantadevanun mahānapaṇun visheṣh māne
chhe, ane je jīvanān visheṣhaṇo chhe tene yathāvat na jāṇatān e vaḍe arahantadevanun mahānapaṇun
āgnānusār māne chhe athavā anyathā māne chhe.
jo jīvanān yathāvat visheṣhaṇo jāṇe to
mithyādraṣhṭi rahe nahi.
vaḷī te arahantone svargamokṣhadātā, dīnadayāḷ, adhamoddhārak ane patitpāvan māne
chhe, te to jem anyamatīo kartutvabuddhithī īshvarane māne chhe, tem ā paṇ arahantane māne chhe,
paṇ em nathī jāṇato ke
phaḷ to potānā pariṇāmonun lāge chhe. tene arahant to nimittamātra
chhe, tethī upachārathī e visheṣhaṇo sambhave chhe.
potānā pariṇām shuddha thayā vinā arahant paṇ svarga mokṣhādi dātā nathī. vaḷī
arahantādikanā nāmādikathī shvānādike svarga prāpta karyun tyān te nāmādino ja atishay māne chhe,
paṇ pariṇām vinā nām levāvāḷāne paṇ svargaprāpti na thāy to sāmbhaḷavāvāḷāne to kyāthī
thāy? nām sāmbhaḷavānā nimittathī e shvānādikane je mandakaṣhāyarūp bhāv thayā, tenun phaḷ tene
svargaprāpti thaī chhe, upachārathī tyān nāmanī mukhyatā karī chhe.
vaḷī arahantādinā nāmpūjanādikathī aniṣhṭa sāmagrīno nāsh tathā iṣhṭa sāmagrīnī
prāpti thavī mānī, rogādi maṭāḍavā vā dhanādinī prāpti arthe tenun nām le chhe vā pūjanādi
kare chhe. paṇ iṣhṭa
aniṣhṭanā kāraṇ to pūrvakarmano uday chhe, arahant to kartā nathī,
arahantādikanī bhaktirūp shubhopayog pariṇāmothī pūrva pāpanun saṅkramaṇādi thaī jāy chhe, māṭe

tyān aniṣhṭa nāsh ane iṣhṭa prāptinā kāraṇamān upachārathī arahantādinī bhakti kahīe chhīe;
paṇ je jīv pahelānthī ja sānsārik prayojan sahit bhakti kare chhe tene to pāpano ja
abhiprāy rahyo kāṅkṣhā, vichikitsārūp bhāv thatān e vaḍe pūrva pāpanun saṅkramaṇādi kevī rīte
thāy? tethī tenun kārya siddha thayun nahi.
vaḷī keṭalāk jīv bhaktine mokṣhanun kāraṇ jāṇī temān ati anurāgī thaī pravarte chhe,
paṇ te to jem anyamatī bhaktithī mukti māne chhe tevun ānun paṇ shraddhān thayun; parantu bhakti
to rāgarūp chhe ane rāgathī bandh chhe māṭe te mokṣhanun kāraṇ nathī. rāgano uday āvatān
jo bhakti na kare to pāpānurāg thāy eṭalā māṭe ashubharāg chhoḍavā arthe gnānī bhaktimān
pravarte chhe ane mokṣhamārgamān bāhya nimittamātra paṇ jāṇe chhe, parantu tyān ja upādeyapaṇun mānī
santuṣhṭa thato nathī paṇ shuddhopayogano udyamī rahe chhe.
te ja shrī pañchāstikāyanī (gāthā 136nī) vyākhyāmān paṇ kahyun chhe ke अयं हि स्थूल-
लक्ष्यतया केवलभक्ति प्राधान्यस्योअज्ञानिनो भवति। उपरितनभूमिकायालब्धास्पदस्यास्थानरागनिषेधार्थं
तीव्ररागज्वरविनोदार्थं वा कदाचिज्ज्ञानिनोऽपि भवतीति।
arthaḥā bhakti, kevaḷabhakti ja chhe pradhān jene evā agnānī jīvone ja hoy
chhe, tathā tīvra rāgajvar maṭāḍavā arthe vā kusthānanā rāgano niṣhedh karavāne arthe kadāchit
gnānīne paṇ hoy chhe.
prashnaḥjo em chhe, to gnānī karatān agnānīne bhaktinī visheṣhatā thatī hashe?
uttaraḥyathārthapaṇānī apekṣhāe to gnānīne sāchī bhakti chhe, agnānīne nahi; tathā
rāgabhāvanī apekṣhāe agnānīne shraddhānamān paṇ bhaktine muktinun kāraṇ jāṇavāthī ati
anurāg chhe; gnānīnā shraddhānamān tene shubhabandhanun kāraṇ jāṇavāthī tevo anurāg nathī. bāhyamān
kadāchit gnānīne ghaṇo anurāg hoy chhe, kadāchit agnānīne paṇ hoy chhe
em jāṇavun.

have tene gurubhakti kevī hoy chhe te kahīe chhīeḥ
keṭalāk jīv āgnānusārī chhe teo to ‘ā jainanā sādhu chhe, amārā guru chhe, māṭe
temanī bhakti karavī’em vichārī temanī bhakti kare chhe; tathā keṭalāk jīv parīkṣhā paṇ kare
chhe to tyān ‘‘ā muni dayā pāḷe chhe, shīl pāḷe chhe, dhanādi rākhatā nathī, upavāsādi tap
kare chhe, kṣhudhādipariṣhah sahan kare chhe, koīthī krodhādi karatā nathī, upadesh āpī bījāone
dharmamān lagāve chhe,’’

ja na jāṇe to tene sāchī bhakti kevī rīte hoy? mātra puṇyabandhanā kāraṇabhūt shubhakriyārūp
guṇone oḷakhī tenī sevāthī potānun bhalun thavun jāṇī tenāmān anurāgī thaī bhakti kare chhe.

shāstrabhakitanun anyathāpaṇun
have shāstrabhaktinun svarūp kahīe chhīeḥ
keṭalāk jīv to ā kevaḷī bhagavānanī vāṇī chhe māṭe kevaḷīnā pūjyapaṇāthī ā paṇ
pūjya chheem jāṇī bhakti kare chhe, tathā keṭalāk ā pramāṇe parīkṣhā kare keā shāstromān
vairāgyatā, dayā, kṣhamā, shīl, santoṣhādikanun nirūpaṇ chhe māṭe te utkr̥uṣhṭa chhe, em jāṇī tenī
bhakti kare chhe, paṇ evān kathan to anya shāstra
vedāntādikamān paṇ hoy chhe.
vaḷī ā shāstromān trilokādinun gambhīr nirūpaṇ chhe māṭe utkr̥uṣhṭatā jāṇī bhakti kare
chhe; parantu ahīn anumānādikano to pravesh nathī tethī satya-asatyano nirṇay karīne mahimā
kevī rīte jāṇe? māṭe e pramāṇe to sāchī parīkṣhā thāy nahi. ahīn to
anekāntarūp sāchā
jīvāditattvonun nirūpaṇ chhe tathā sācho ratnatrayarūp mokṣhamārga darshāvyo chhe tethī
jainashāstronī utkr̥uṣhṭatā chhe tene oḷakhato nathī, kemake jo e oḷakhāṇ thaī jāy
to te mithyādraṣhṭi rahe nahi.

e pramāṇe tene dev-guru-shāstranī pratīti thaī chhe tethī te potāne vyavahārasamyaktva thayun

nirṇay karīne mānato nathī; tethī tene chaturapaṇun thatun nathī; tem koī jīv, samyaktvī thavā
arthe shāstra dvārā jīvādi tattvonun svarūp shīkhī le chhe, parantu tenā svarūpane oḷakhato nathī,
ane svarūp oḷakhāṇ sivāy anya tattvone anya tattvarūp mānī le chhe, athavā satya paṇ
māne chhe to tyān nirṇay karīne mānato nathī, tethī tene samyaktva thatun nathī. vaḷī jem koī
saṅgīt shāstrādi bhaṇyo hoy vā na bhaṇyo hoy paṇ jo te svarādinā svarūpane oḷakhe chhe
to te chatur ja chhe; tem koī shāstra bhaṇyo hoy vā na bhaṇyo hoy, paṇ jo te jīvādinā
svarūpane oḷakhe chhe to te samyagdraṣhṭi ja chhe. jem hiraṇ svar-rāgādinān nām jāṇatun nathī
paṇ tenā svarūpane oḷakhe chhe, tem alpabuddhi, jīvādikanān nām jāṇato nathī paṇ tenā
svarūpane oḷakhe chhe ke ‘‘ ā hun chhun, ā par chhe, ā bhāv būrā chhe, ā bhalā chhe,’’ e
pramāṇe svarūpane oḷakhe tenun nām bhāvabhāsan chhe.
1shivabhūtimuni jīvādikanān nām jāṇatā
nahotā ane 1‘तुषमाषभिन्न’ (bhāvapāhuḍ gā. 53) em raṭavā lāgyā. have e siddhāntano
shabda nahoto parantu svaparanā bhāvarūp dhyān karyun tethī teo kevaḷagnānī thayā; ane agiār
aṅganoe pāṭhī jīvādi tattvonā visheṣh bhedo jāṇe chhe, parantu bhāv bhāsato nathī tethī te
mithyādraṣhṭi ja rahe chhe.

ajīvanā pudgalādibhedone tathā tenā varṇādibhedone jāṇe chhe, parantu adhyātmashāstromān bhed-
vignānanā kāraṇabhūt vā vītarāgadashā thavāne kāraṇabhūt jevun nirūpaṇ karyun chhe tevun jāṇato nathī.

parantu svane sva-rūp jāṇī parano ansh paṇ potānāmān na meḷavavo tathā potāno
ansh paṇ paramān na meḷavavoevun sāchun shraddhān karato nathī. jem anya mithyādraṣhṭi,
nirdhār vinā paryāyabuddhithī jāṇapaṇāmān vā varṇādimān ahambuddhi dhāre chhe, tem ā paṇ
ātmāshrit gnānādimān tathā sharīrāshrit upadesh-upavāsādi kriyāomān potāpaṇun māne chhe.
vaḷī koī vakhat shāstrānusār sāchī vāt paṇ banāve parantu tyān antaraṅg nirdhārarūp
shraddhān nathī, tethī jem krephī manuṣhya mātāne mātā paṇ kahe topaṇ te shāṇo nathī, tem āne
paṇ samyagdraṣhṭi kahetā nathī.
vaḷī jem koī bījānī ja vāto karato hoy tem ā ātmānun kathan kare chhe, parantu
‘ā ātmā hun chhun’evo bhāv bhāsato nathī.
vaḷī jem koī bījāne bījāthī bhinna batāvato hoy tem ātmā ane sharīranī
bhinnatā prarūpe chhe; parantu hun e sharīrādithī bhinna chhunevo bhāv bhāsato nathī.
vaḷī paryāyamān jīv-pudgalanā paraspar nimittathī anek kriyāo thāy chhe te sarvane
be dravyonā meḷāpathī nīpajī māne chhe paṇ ā jīvanī kriyā chhe tenun pudgal nimitta chhe tathā
ā pudgalanī kriyā chhe tenun jīv nimitta chhe
em bhinna-bhinna bhāv bhāsato nathī. ityādi
bhāv bhāsyā vinā tene jīv-ajīvano sācho shraddhānī kahī shakāy nahi. kāraṇ ke jīv-ajīv
jāṇavānun prayojan to e ja hatun te thayun nahi.
āuāvatattvanā shraddhānanī ayathārthatā
vaḷī āsravatattvamānje hinsādirūp pāpāsrav chhe tene hey jāṇe chhe, tathā ahinsādi-
rūp puṇyāsrav chhe tene upādey māne chhe, have e banne karmabandhanān ja kāraṇ chhe, temān upādeyapaṇun
mānavun e ja mithyādraṣhṭi chhe. shrī samayasāranā bandhādhikāramān paṇ e ja kahyun chhe ke?
1sarvajīvone jīvan-maraṇ, sukh-duḥkh potapotānā karmanā nimittathī thāy chhe. jyān
anya jīv anya jīvanā e kāryono kartā thāy, e ja mithyāadhyavasāy bandhanun kāraṇ chhe.
tyān anya jīvane jīvāḍavāno vā sukhī karavāno adhyavasāy thāy te to puṇyabandhanun kāraṇ
chhe, tathā māravāno vā duḥkhī karavāno adhyavasāy thāy te pāpabandhanun kāraṇ chhe.

e pramāṇe ahinsānī māphak satyādik to puṇyabandhanān kāraṇ chhe tathā hinsānī māphak
asatyādik pāpabandhanā kāraṇ chhe; e sarva mithyāadhyavasāy chhe te tyājya chhe, māṭe hinsādinī
māphak ahinsādikane paṇ bandhanān kāraṇ jāṇī heyarūp ja mānavān.
hinsāmān māravānī buddhi thāy paṇ tenā āyupūrṇa thayā vinā te mare nahi ane potānī
dveṣhapariṇatithī pote ja pāp bāndhe chhe; tathā ahinsāmān rakṣhā karavānī buddhi thāy paṇ tenā
āyuavasheṣh vinā te jīve nahi, ā potānī prashastarāgapariṇatithī pote ja puṇya bāndhe chhe
e pramāṇe e banne hey chhe, jyān vītarāg thaī draṣhṭā-gnātārūp pravarte tyān nirbandh chhe, te
upādey chhe.
have evī dashā na thāy tyān sudhī prashastarāgarūp pravarto, parantu shraddhān to evun rākho
keā paṇ bandhanun kāraṇ chhehey chhe; jo shraddhānamān tene mokṣhamārga jāṇe to
mithyādraṣhṭi ja thāy chhe.
vaḷī mithyātva, avirati, kaṣhāy ane yoge āsravanā bhed chhe, tene bāhyarūpathī
to māne paṇ antaraṅgamān e bhāvonī jātine oḷakhe nahi.
tyān anya devādikanā sevanarūp gr̥uhītamithyātvane to mithyātva jāṇe, paṇ anādi
agr̥uhītamithyātva chhe tene na oḷakhe.
bāhya tras-sthāvaranī hinsāne vā indriy-mananā viṣhayomān pravr̥uttine avirati māne,
paṇ hinsāmān pramādapariṇati mūḷ chhe tathā viṣhayasevanamān abhilāṣhā mūḷ chhe tene avaloke nahi.
bāhya krodhādi karavo tene kaṣhāy jāṇe, paṇ abhiprāyamān je rāg-dveṣh rahelā chhe tene
oḷakhato nathī.
tathā bāhyacheṣhṭā thāy tene yog jāṇe, paṇ shaktibhūt yogone na jāṇe.
e pramāṇe te āsravonun svarūp anyathā jāṇe chhe.
vaḷī rāg-dveṣh-moharūp je āsravabhāv chhe, teno to nāsh karavānī chintā nathī, ane
bāhyakriyā vā bāhyanimitta maṭāḍavāno upāy rākhe chhe, paṇ e maṭavāthī kāī āsrav maṭatā
nathī. kāraṇ ke dravyaliṅgī muni anyadevādikanī sevā karatā nathī, hinsā vā viṣhayomān pravartatā
nathī, krodhādi karatā nathī, tathā man-vachan-kāyāne roke chhe, topaṇ tene mithyātvādi chāre āsrav
hoy chhe; bījun e kāryo teo kapaṭavaḍe paṇ karatā nathī, jo kapaṭathī kare to te graiveyak sudhī
kevī rīte pahoñche?
māṭe antaraṅg abhiprāyamān mithyātvādirūp rāgādibhāv chhe te ja
āsrav chhe. tene oḷakhato nathī tethī tene āsravatattvanun paṇ sāchun shraddhān nathī.

bandhātattvanun anyathārup
vaḷī bandhatattvamān je ashubhabhāvothī narakādirūp pāpabandh thāy tene to būro jāṇe ane
shubhabhāvavaḍe devādirūp puṇyabandh thāy tene bhalo jāṇe; paṇ e pramāṇe duḥkh-sāmagrīmān dveṣh
ane sukhasāmagrīmān rāg to badhā jīvone hoy chhe, tethī tene paṇ rāg-dveṣh karavānun shraddhān
thayun. jevo ā paryāyasambandhī sukhaduḥkhasāmagrīmān rāg-dveṣh karavo thayo, tevo ja bhāvī
paryāyasambandhī sukhaduḥkhasāmagrīmān rāg-dveṣh karavo thayo.
vaḷī shubhāshubhabhāvovaḍe puṇya-pāpanān visheṣho to aghātikarmomān thāy chhe, paṇ
aghātikarmo ātmaguṇanān ghātak nathī. bījun shubhāshubhabhāvomān ghātikarmono to nirantar bandh thāy
chhe, je sarva pāparūp ja chhe anee e ja ātmaguṇano ghātak chhe; māṭe ashuddha (shubhāshubh)
bhāvovaḍe karmabandh thāy chhe temān bhalo-būro jāṇavo e ja mithyāshraddhān chhe.
evā shraddhānathī bandhatattvanun paṇ tene satyashraddhān nathī.
samvaratattvanun anyathārup
vaḷī samvaratattvamān-ahinsādirūp shubhāsravabhāvane samvar māne chhe, parantu ek ja kāraṇathī
puṇyabandh paṇ mānīe tathā samvar paṇ mānīe em bane nahi.
prashnaḥmunine ek kāḷamān ek bhāv thāy chhe, tyān temane bandh paṇ thāy
chhe, tathā samvar-nirjarā paṇ thāy chhe, te kevī rīte?
uttaraḥe bhāv mishrarūp chhe, kanīk vītarāg thayā chhe tathā kanīk sarāg rahel chhe.
je ansh vītarāg thayo te vaḍe to samvar chhe, tathā je ansh sarāg rahyo te vaḍe bandh chhe;
have (mishra evā) ek bhāvathī to be kārya bane chhe, paṇ ek prashastarāgathī ja puṇyāsrav
paṇ mānavo tathā samvar-nirjarā paṇ mānavī e bhram chhe. mishrabhāvamān paṇ ā sarāgatā chhe,
ā virāgatā chhe
evī oḷakhāṇ samyagdraṣhṭine ja hoy chhe, tethī te avasheṣh sarāgabhāvane
heyarūp shraddhe chhe. mithyādraṣhṭine evī oḷakhāṇ nathī, tethī te sarāgabhāvamān samvaranā bhramathī
prashastarāgarūp kāryone upādey shraddhe chhe.
vaḷī siddhāntamān gupti, samiti, dharma, anuprekṣhā, parīṣhahajay tathā chāritrate vaḍe samvar
thāy chhe em kahyun chhe, tenun paṇ te yathārtha shraddhān karato nathī.

guptiḥman-vachan-kāyānī bāhya cheṣhṭā maṭāḍe, pāpachintavan na kare, maun dhāre,

nānāprakāranā vikalpo thāy chhe, ane vachan-kāyānī cheṣhṭā pote rokī rākhe chhe paṇ e to

kāyānī cheṣhṭā thāy nahi e ja sāchī gupti chhe.
samitiḥvaḷī parajīvonī rakṣhā arthe yatnāchār pravr̥utti tene samiti māne chhe, paṇ
hinsānā pariṇāmothī to pāp thāy chhe tathā rakṣhānā pariṇāmothī samvar kahesho to puṇyabandhanun
kāraṇ koṇ ṭharashe? eṣhaṇā samitimān doṣh ṭāḷe chhe tyān rakṣhānun prayojan nathī, māṭe rakṣhāne
arthe ja samiti nathī.
to samiti kevī rīte hoy chhe?munione kiñchit rāg thatān gamanādikriyā thāy chhe,
tyān te kriyāomān ati āsaktatānā abhāvathī pramādarūp pravr̥utti thatī nathī, tathā bījā
jīvone duḥkhī karī potānun gamanādi prayojan sādhatā nathī tethī svayamev ja dayā paḷāy chhe;
e pramāṇe sāchī samiti chhe.
dharmaḥvaḷī bandhādikanā bhayathī vā svarga-mokṣhanī ichchhāthī krodhādi karato nathī, paṇ
tyān krodhādi karavāno abhiprāy to gayo nathī; jem koī rājādikanā bhayathī vā mahantapaṇānā
lobhathī parastrī sevato nathī to tene tyāgī kahī shakāy nahi, te ja pramāṇe ā krodhādino
tyāgī nathī. to kevī rīte tyāgī hoy? padārtha iṣhṭa-aniṣhṭa bhāsatān krodhādik thāy chhe, jyāre
tattvagnānanā abhyāsathī koī iṣhṭa-aniṣhṭa na bhāse tyāre svayamev ja krodhādik ūpajatā nathī,
tyāre sācho dharma thāy chhe.
anuprekṣhāḥvaḷī anityādi chintavanathī sharīrādikane būrān jāṇī, hitakārī na jāṇī,
tenāthī udās thavun tenun nām te anuprekṣhā kahe chhe; paṇ e to jem koī mitra hato tyāre
tenāthī rāg hato ane pāchhaḷathī tenā avaguṇ joī te udāsīn thayo; tem sharīrādikathī
rāg hato paṇ pāchhaḷathī tenā anityatvādi avaguṇ dekhī ā udāsīn thayo, parantu evī
udāsīnatā to dveṣharūp chhe; jyān jevo potāno vā sharīrādino svabhāv chhe tevo oḷakhī bhram
chhoḍī, tene bhalān jāṇī rāg na karavo tathā būrān jāṇī dveṣh na karavo
evī sāchī udāsīnatā
arthe yathārtha anityatvādikanun chintavan karavun e ja sāchī anuprekṣhā chhe.
parīṣhahajayaḥvaḷī kṣhudhādik lāgatān tenā nāshano upāy na karavo, tene te
pariṣhahasahanatā kahe chhe. have upāy to na karyo ane antaraṅgamān kṣhudhādi aniṣhṭasāmagrī maḷatān
duḥkhī thayo tathā rati ādinun kāraṇ maḷatān sukhī thayo, e to duḥkh-sukharūp pariṇām chhe,
ane e ja ārta-raudradhyān chhe, evā bhāvothī samvar kevī rīte thāy? duḥkhanān kāraṇo maḷatān
duḥkhī na thāy tathā sukhanān kāraṇo maḷatān sukhī na thāy paṇ gneyarūpathī teno jāṇavāvāḷo
ja rahe, e ja sācho pariṣhahajay chhe.

chāritraḥvaḷī hinsādi sāvadya (pāpakārī) yoganā tyāgane chāritra māne chhe, tyān
mahāvratādirūp shubhayogane upādeyapaṇāthī grāhya māne chhe, paṇ tattvārthasūtramān āsravapadārthanun
nirūpaṇ karatān mahāvrataṇuvratane paṇ āsravarūp kahyān chhe to e upādey kevī
rīte hoy? tathā āsrav to bandhano sādhak chhe ane chāritra mokṣhanun sādhak chhe, tethī
mahāvratādirūp āsravabhāvone chāritrapaṇun sambhavatun nathī; sarva kaṣhāyarahit je

je chāritramohanā deshaghāti sparddhakonā udayathī mahāmand prashastarāg thāy chhe te to
chāritrano maḷ chhe, ene nahi chhūṭato jāṇīne teno tyāg karatā nathī ane sāvadhayogano ja
tyāg kare chhe; parantu jem koī puruṣh kandamūḷādi ghaṇā doṣhavāḷī haritakāyano tyāg kare chhe
tathā keṭalāk haritakāyonun bhakṣhaṇ kare chhe paṇ tene dharma mānato nathī, tem muni hinsādi
tīvrakaṣhāyarūp bhāvono tyāg kare chhe tathā keṭalāk mandakaṣhāyarūp mahāvratādinun pālan kare chhe
parantu tene mokṣhamārga mānatā nathī.
prashnaḥjo e pramāṇe chhe to chāritranā ter bhedomān mahāvratādik kem kahyān chhe?
uttaraḥtyān tene vyavahārachāritra kahyun chhe, ane vyavahār nām upachāranun chhe. e
mahāvratādi thatān ja vītarāgachāritra thāy chheevo sambandh jāṇī e mahāvratādikamān chāritrano
upachār karyo chhe; nishchayathī niṣhkaṣhāyabhāv chhe te ja sāchun chāritra chhe.
e pramāṇe samvaranā kāraṇone anyathā jāṇato hovāthī samvaratattvano paṇ e sācho
shraddhānī thato nathī.
nirjarātattvanān shraddhānanī ayathārthatā
vaḷī te anashanādi tapathī nirjarā māne chhe, paṇ kevaḷ bāhyatap ja karavāthī to nirjarā
thāy nahi. bāhyatap to shuddhopayog vadhāravā arthe karavāmān āve chhe, shuddhopayog nirjarānun
kāraṇ chhe tethī upachārathī tapane paṇ nirjarānun kāraṇ kahyun chhe. jo bāhyaduḥkh sahan karavun
e ja nirjarānun kāraṇ hoy to tiryañchādik paṇ bhūkh
tarasādi sahan kare chhe.
prashnaḥe to parādhīnapaṇe sahe chhe, svādhīnapaṇe dharmabuddhipūrvak upavāsādirūp
tap kare tene nirjarā thāy chhe.
uttaraḥdharmabuddhithī bāhya upavāsādik to kare, paṇ tyān upayog to ashubh,
shubh vā shuddha jem pariṇame tem pariṇamo. jo ghaṇā upavāsādi karatān ghaṇī nirjarā thāy
tathā thoḍā karatān thoḍī thāy evo niyam ṭhare tyāre to nirjarānun mukhya kāraṇ upavāsādik

ja ṭhare, paṇ em to bane nahi, kāraṇpariṇām duṣhṭa thatān upavāsādi karatān paṇ nirjarā
thavī kem sambhave?
vaḷī ahīn jo em kahesho ke‘jevo ashubhshubhshuddharūp upayog pariṇame te
anusār bandhnirjarā chhe.’ to upavāsādi tap nirjarānun mukhya kāraṇ kyān rahyun? tyān to
ashubhshubh pariṇām bandhanā kāraṇ ṭharyān, tathā shuddha pariṇām nirjarānun kāraṇ ṭharyo.
prashnaḥto tattvārthasūtramān ‘तपसा निर्जरा च’ (a. 9 sū. 3) em shāmāṭe kahyun chhe?
uttaraḥshāstramān ‘इच्छानिरोधस्तपः’ em kahyun chhe arthāt ichchhāne rokavī tenun nām tap
chhe. shubhashubh ichchhā maṭatān upayog shuddha thāy chhe tyān nirjarā thāy chhe tethī tapavaḍe nirjarā
kahī chhe.
prashnaḥāhārādirūp ashubhanī ichchhā to dūr thatān ja tap thāy parantu
upavāsādi vā prāyashchittādi shubhakārya chhe tenī ichchhā to rahe?
uttaraḥgnānīpuruṣhone upavāsādinī ichchhā nathī, ek shuddhopayoganī ichchhā chhe, have
upavāsādi karatān shuddhopayog vadhe chhe tethī teo upavāsādik kare chhe, paṇ jo upavāsādithī
sharīranī vā pariṇāmonī shithilatāne kāraṇe shuddhopayog shithil thato jāṇe to teo
āhārādik grahaṇ kare chhe. jo upavāsādithī ja siddhi thāy to shrī ajitanāthādi trevīs
tīrthaṅkaro dīkṣhā laī be upavās ja kem dhāraṇ kare? temanī to shakti paṇ ghaṇī hatī, parantu
jevā pariṇām thayā tevān bāhyasādhanavaḍe ek vītarāg shuddhopayogano abhyās karyo.
prashnaḥjo em chhe to anashanādikane tapasañgnā kevī rīte kahī?
uttaraḥene bāhyatap kahyān chhe. bāhyano artha e chhe ke--bahār bījāone dekhāy
ke‘ā tapasvī chhe,’ paṇ pote to jevo antaraṅgapariṇām thashe tevun ja phaḷ pāmashe. kāraṇ
ke-pariṇām vinānī sharīranī kriyā phaḷadātā nathī.
prashnaḥshāstramān to akāmanirjarā kahī chhe, tyān ichchhā vinā bhūkh-tr̥uṣhādi
sahan karatān nirjarā thāy chhe to upavāsādivaḍe kaṣhṭa sahatān nirjarā kem na thāy?
uttaraḥakāmanirjarāmān paṇ bāhyanimitta to ichchhārahit bhūkh-tr̥uṣhā sahan karavī e
thayun chhe tathā tyān jo mandakaṣhāyarūp bhāv hoy to pāpanī nirjarā thāydevādi puṇyano bandh
thāy; parantu jo tīvrakaṣhāy thatān paṇ kaṣhṭa sahan karatān puṇyabandh thāy to sarva tiryañchādik dev
ja thāy, paṇ em bane nahi, e ja pramāṇe ichchhā karī upavāsādi karatān tyān bhūkh-tr̥uṣhādi
kaṣhṭa sahan karīe chhīe te bāhyanimitta chhe paṇ tyān jevā pariṇām hoy tevun phaḷ pāme chhe.

jem annane prāṇ kahyo chhe tem. e pramāṇe bāhyasādhan thatān antaraṅgatapanī vr̥uddhi thāy chhe

arthātjyān kaṣhāy, viṣhay ane āhārano tyāg karavāmān āve chhe tene upavās
jāṇavo; bākīnāne shrīguru lāṅghaṇ kahe chhe.
ahīn koī kahe kejo em chhe to ame upavāsādi nahi karīe?
tene kahīe chhīeupadesh to ūñche chaḍhavā arthe āpavāmān āve chhe, paṇ tun ūlaṭo
nīcho paḍee to tyān ame shun karīe? jo tun mānādikathī upavāsādik kare chhe to kar vā na kar,
paṇ tethī kāī siddhi nathī, paṇ jo dharmabuddhithī āhārādikano anurāg chhoḍe chhe to jeṭalo
rāg chhūṭyoe teṭalo ja chhūṭyoe, parantu tene ja tap jāṇī tenāthī nirjarā mānī santuṣhṭa na thā!
paṇ antaraṅgatapomān prāyashchitta, vinay, vaiyāvr̥utya, svādhyāy, tyāg ane dhyānarūp
kriyāmān bāhya pravartan chhe te to bāhyatapavat ja jāṇavun. jevī anashanādi bāhyakriyā chhe tevī
e paṇ bāhyakriyā chhe. tethī prāyashchittādi bāhyasādhan paṇ antaraṅgatap nathī; parantu
evun
bāhyapravartan thatān je antaraṅg pariṇāmonī shuddhatā thāy chhe tenun nām antaraṅgatap
jāṇavun.
tyān paṇ eṭalun visheṣh chhe ke ghaṇī shuddhatā thatān shuddhopayogarūp pariṇati thāy chhe; tyān
to nirjarā ja chhe, bandh thato nathī. ane thoḍī shuddhatā thatān shubhopayogano paṇ ansh rahe chhe,
tethī
jeṭalī shuddhatā thaī tenāthī to nirjarā chhe tathā jeṭalo shubhabhāv chhe tenāthī
bandh chhe ane evo mishrabhāv jyān yugapat hoy chhe tyān bandh vā nirjarā banne hoy chhe.
prashnaḥshubhabhāvothī pāpanī nirjarā ane puṇyano bandh thāy chhe parantu
shuddhabhāvothī bannenī nirjarā thāy chheem kem na kaho?
uttaraḥmokṣhamārgamān sthitinun to ghaṭavun badhī ja prakr̥itionun thāy chhe, tyān puṇya-
pāpanī visheṣhatā chhe ja nahi, tathā anubhāganun ghaṭavun puṇyaprakr̥itiomān shuddhopayogathī paṇ thatun
nathī. upar upar puṇyaprakr̥itionā anubhāgano tīvra bandh-uday thāy chhe tathā pāpaprakr̥itionā

juo! chothā guṇasthānavāḷo shāstrābhyās, ātmachintavan ādi kārya karetyān paṇ tene
(guṇashreṇī) nirjarā nathī, bandh paṇ ghaṇo thāy chhe. ane pāñchamā guṇasthānavāḷo viṣhayasevanādi
kārya kare tyān paṇ tene guṇashreṇī nirjarā thatī rahe chhe, bandh paṇ thoḍo thāy chhe tathā pāñchamā
guṇasthānavāḷo upavāsādi vā prāyashchittādi tap kare te kāḷamān paṇ tene nirjarā thoḍī hoy
chhe, ane chhaṭhṭhā guṇasthānavāḷo āhār vihārādi kriyā kare te kāḷamān paṇ tene nirjarā ghaṇī
thāy chhe ane bandh tenāthī paṇ thoḍo thāy chhe.
māṭe bāhyapravr̥utti anusār nirjarā nathī, paṇ antaraṅg kaṣhāyashakti ghaṭavāthī
vishuddhatā thatān nirjarā thāy chhe. tenun pragaṭasvarūp āgaḷ nirūpaṇ karīshun tyānthī
jāṇavun.
e pramāṇe anashanādi kriyāne tapasañgnā upachārathī chhe em jāṇavun, ane tethī ja tene
vyavahāratap kahyun chhe, vyavahār upachārano ek artha chhe. vaḷī evā sādhanathī je vītarāg-
bhāvarūp vishuddhatā thāy te ja sāchun tap nirjarānun kāraṇ jāṇavun.
draṣhṭāntjem dhan vā anyane prāṇ kahyā chhe tenun kāraṇ, dhanathī anna lāvī tenun
bhakṣhaṇ karī prāṇonun poṣhaṇ karavāmān āve chhe tethī upachārathī dhan ane annane prāṇ kahyā
chhe. koī indriyādik prāṇone na jāṇe ane tene ja prāṇ jāṇī saṅgrah kare to te maraṇ ja
pāme, tem
anashanādik vā prāyashchittādikane tap kahyān chhe, kāraṇ ke anashanādi sādhanathī
prāyashchittādirūp pravartan karīne vītarāgabhāvarūp satyatapanun poṣhaṇ karavāmān āve chhe, tethī e
anashanādine vā prāyashchittādikane upachārathī tap kahyān chhe; paṇ koī vītarāgabhāvarūp tapane
to na jāṇe ane tene ja tap jāṇī saṅgrah kare to sansāramān ja bhramaṇ kare.
ghaṇun shun kahīe! āṭalun ja samajī levun kenishchayadharma to vītarāgabhāv chhe, tathā
anya anek prakāranā bhedo bāhyasādhananī apekṣhāe upachārathī kahyā chhe, tene
vyavahāramātra dharmasañgnā jāṇavī. ā rahasyane jāṇato nathī tethī tene nirjarānun paṇ
sāchun shraddhān nathī.
mokṣhatattvanā shraddhānanī ayathārthatā
vaḷī siddha thavun tene te mokṣha māne chhe. janma, jarā, maraṇ, rog, kleshādi duḥkh dūr
thayān chhe, anant gnānavaḍe lokālokanun tene jāṇavun thayun chhe, trailokyapūjyapaṇun thayun chhe
ityādirūpathī teno mahimā jāṇe chhe, paṇ e pramāṇe duḥkhane dūr karavānī, gneyane jāṇavānī
tathā pūjya thavānī ichchhā to sarva jīvone chhe; jo enā ja arthe teṇe mokṣhanī ichchhā karī
to tene anya jīvonā shraddhānathī visheṣhatā shī thaī?

vaḷī tene evo paṇ abhiprāy chhe kesvargamān sukh chhe tenāthī anantagaṇun mokṣhamān
sukh chhe. have e guṇākāramān te svarga ane mokṣhasukhanī ek jāti jāṇe chhe; svargamān to
viṣhayādi, sāmagrījanit sukh hoy chhe tenī jāti to tene bhāse chhe, paṇ mokṣhamān viṣhayādi
sāmagrī nathī eṭale tyānnā sukhanī jāti tene bhāsatī to nathī, parantu mahāpuruṣho mokṣhane
svargathī paṇ uttam kahe chhe tethī ā paṇ uttam ja māne chhe. jem koī gāyananā svarūpane
oḷakhato nathī paṇ sabhānā sarvalok vakhāṇe chhe tethī pote paṇ vakhāṇe chhe, e pramāṇe ā
mokṣhane uttam māne chhe.
prashnaḥshāstramān paṇ indrādikathī anantagaṇun sukh siddhone chhe em prarūpyun chhe,
tenun shun kāraṇ?
uttaraḥjem tīrthaṅkaranān sharīranī prabhāne sūryaprabhāthī kroḍaguṇī kahī tyān tenī ek
jāti nathī parantu lokamān sūryaprabhānun māhātmya chhe tenāthī paṇ ghaṇun māhātmya jaṇāvavā arthe
evo upamālaṅkār karīe chhīe; tem siddhasukhane indrādisukhathī anantagaṇun kahyun chhe tyān tenī
ek jāti nathī; parantu lokamān indrādisukhanun māhātmya chhe tenāthī paṇ ghaṇun māhātmya jaṇāvavā
arthe evo upamālaṅkār karīe chhīe.
prashnaḥsiddhasukh ane indrādisukhanī te ek jāti jāṇe chheevo nishchay
tame kevī rīte karyo?
uttaraḥje dharmasādhananun phaḷ svarga māne chhe te ja dharmasādhananun phaḷ te mokṣha māne
chhe koī jīv indrādipad pāme tathā koī mokṣha pāme tyān e bannene ekajātinā dharmanun phaḷ
thayun māne chhe. evun to māne chhe ke
jene thoḍun sādhan hoy chhe te indrādipad prāpta krare chhe
tathā jene sampūrṇa sādhan hoy chhe te mokṣha prāpta kare chhe, parantu tyān te dharmanī jāti ek jāṇe
chhe, have je kāraṇanī jāti ek jāṇe chhe tene kāryanī paṇ ek jātinun shraddhān avashya hoy.
kāraṇ ke
kāraṇ visheṣhatā thatān ja kārya visheṣhatā thāy chhe, tethī ame nishchay karyo ketenā
abhiprāyamān indrādisukh ane siddhasukhanī jātimān ek jātinun shraddhān chhe.
vaḷī karmanimittathī ātmāne aupādhikabhāv hatā teno abhāv thatān pote shuddha
svabhāvarūp kevaḷ ātmā thayo; jem paramāṇu skandhathī chhūṭatān shuddha thāy chhe tem ā karmādikathī
bhinna thaīne shuddha thāy chhe paṇ temān visheṣhatā eṭalī chhe ke
te (paramāṇu) banne avasthāmān
duḥkhī-sukhī nathī, parantu ātmā ashuddha avasthāmān duḥkhī hato, have teno abhāv thavāthī
nirākuḷalakṣhaṇ anantasukhanī prāpti thaī.
bījun indrādikone je sukh chhe te to kaṣhāyabhāvothī ākuḷatārūp chhe tethī te paramārthathī

duḥkh ja chhe; eṭalā māṭe tenī ane ānī ek jāti nathī. vaḷī svargasukhanun kāraṇ to
prashastarāg chhe tyāre mokṣhasukhanun kāraṇ vītarāgabhāv chhe tethī kāraṇamān paṇ bhed chhe;
parantu evo bhāv tene bhāsato nathī.
tethī mokṣhanun paṇ tene sāchun shraddhān nathī.
e pramāṇe tene sāchun tattvashraddhān nathī, tethī shrī samayasār gā. 276-77nī ṭīkāmān
paṇ kahyun chhe ke‘abhavyane tattvashraddhān thavā chhatān paṇ mithyādarshan ja rahe chhe’1 tathā shrī
pravachanasāramān kahyun chhe keātmagnānashūnya tattvārthashraddhān kāryakārī nathī.’2
vaḷī vyavahāradraṣhṭithī samyagdarshananān āṭh aṅg kahyān chhe tene te pāḷe chhe, pachīs doṣh
kahyā chhe tene ṭāḷe chhe, tathā samvegādiguṇ kahyā chhe tene dhāre chhe, parantu jem bīj vāvyā vinā
khetīnān badhān sādhan karavā chhatān paṇ anna thatun nathī tem satyatattvashraddhān thayā vinā
samyagdarshan thatun nathī. shrī pañchāstikāyanī vyākhyāmān antamān jyān vyavahārābhāsavāḷānun varṇan
karyun chhe tyān paṇ evun ja kathan karyun chhe.
e pramāṇe tene samyagdarshan arthe sādhan karavā chhatān paṇ samyagdarshan thatun nathī.
samyaggnānanun anyathārup
shāstramān samyaggnān māṭe shāstrābhyās karavāthī samyaggnān thavun kahyun chhe tethī te

arthaḥabhavya jīv nityakarmaphalachetanārūp vastunun shraddhān kare chhe. parantu nityagnānachetanāmātra
vastunun shraddhān karato ja nathī; kāraṇ abhavya jīv sadāy sva-paranā bhedagnānane yogya ja nathī tethī
te abhavya jīv gnānamātra satyārthadharma ke je karmakṣhayano hetu chhe tene shraddhān karato nathī parantu shubhakarmamātra
asatyārthadharma ke je bhogano hetu chhe tenun ja shraddhān kare chhe tethī te abhavyajīv abhūtārtha dharmanā
shraddhān-pratīti-ruchi ane sparshan e vaḍe antimagraiveyak sudhīnā bhogamātrane prāpta thāy chhe. parantu karmathī
kadī paṇ chhūṭato nathī tethī tene satyārthadharmanā shraddhānano abhāv hovāthī satyārtha shraddhān paṇ nathī.

shāstrābhyāsamān tatpar rahe chhe. tyān shīkhavun shīkhavavun, yād karavun, vāñchavun, bhaṇavun intyādi kriyāmān
to upayogane ramāve chhe parantu tenā prayojan upar draṣhṭi nathī. ā upadeshamān mane kāryakārī
shun chhe?’ te abhiprāy nathī, svayam shāstrābhyās karīne anyane upadesh āpavāno abhiprāy
rākhe chhe ane ghaṇā jīvo upadesh māne tyān pote santuṣhṭa thāy chhe. paṇ gnānābhyās to potānā
arthe karavāmān āve chhe tathā avasar pāmīne paranun paṇ bhalun thatun hoy to paranun paṇ bhalun
kare; tathā koī upadesh na sāmbhaḷe to na sāmbhaḷo, pote shā māṭe viṣhād kare? shāstrārthano
bhāv jāṇī potānun bhalun karavun.
vaḷī shāstrābhyāsamān paṇ keṭalāk to vyākaraṇ, nyāy, kāvyādi shāstrono
ghaṇo abhyās kare chhe, paṇ e to lokamān paṇḍitatā pragaṭ karavānān kāraṇ chhe. emān
ātma
hitanun nirūpaṇ to nathī, enun prayojan to eṭalun ja chhe kepotānī buddhi
ghaṇī hoy to teno thoḍoghaṇo abhyās karī pachhī ātmahitasādhak shāstrono abhyās
karavo, paṇ jo thoḍī buddhi hoy to ātmahitasādhak sugamashāstrono ja abhyās
karavo, parantu e vyākaraṇādino ja abhyās karatān karatān āyuṣhya pūrṇa thaī jāy
ane tattvagnānanī prāpti na bane em to na karavun.
prashnaḥevun chhe to vyākaraṇādino abhyās na karavo joīe?
uttaraḥenā abhyās vinā mahān granthono artha khulato nathī, tethī eno paṇ
abhyās karavo yogya chhe.
prashnaḥmahān granth evā shā māṭe banāvyā ke jeno artha vyākaraṇādi vinā na
khule? bhāṣhāvaḍe sugamarūp hitopadesh kem na lakhyo? temane kāī prayojan to hatun nahi?
uttaraḥbhāṣhāmān paṇ prākr̥it-sanskr̥itādinā ja shabdo chhe, parantu te apabhranshasahit chhe,
vaḷī judā judā deshomān judā judā prakāranī bhāṣhā chhe, have mahānapuruṣh shāstromān apabhransh
shabda kem lakhe? bāḷak totaḍun bole paṇ moṭā to na bole; vaḷī ek deshanān bhāṣhārūp shāstra
bījā deeshamān jāy to tyān teno artha kevī rīte bhāse? eṭalā māṭe prākr̥it-sanskr̥itādi shuddha
shabdarūp granth rachyā.
tathā vyākaraṇ vinā shabdano artha yathāvat bhāse nahi tathā nyāy vinā lakṣhaṇ parīkṣhādi
yathāyogya thaī shake nahi, ityādi vachan dvārā vastuno svarūpanirṇay vyākaraṇādi vinā barābar
na thato jāṇī tenī āmnāyānusār kathan karyun chhe. bhāṣhāmān paṇ tenī thoḍīghaṇī āmnāy
maḷavāthī ja upadesh thaī shake chhe, paṇ tenī ghaṇī āmnāyathī barābar nirṇay thaī shake chhe.

prashnaḥem chhe to have bhāṣhārūp granth shāmāṭe banāvo chho?
uttaraḥkāḷadoṣhathī jīvonī mandabuddhi jāṇī koī koī jīvone ‘jeṭalun gnān thashe teṭalun
to thashe,’ evo abhiprāy vichārī bhāṣhāgranth karīe chhīe. māṭe tyān je jīv vyākaraṇādino
abhyās na karī shake teṇe to āvā grantho vaḍe ja abhyās karavo.
parantu je jīv nānāprakāranī yuktipūrvak shabdonā artha karavā māṭe vyākaraṇ avagāhe
chhe, vādādikavaḍe mahant thavā māṭe nyāy avagāhe chhe, tathā chaturapaṇun pragaṭ karavā māṭe kāvya
avagāhe chhe, ityādi laukik prayojanapūrvak teno abhyās kare chhe te dharmātmā nathī, paṇ teno
bane teṭalo thoḍoghaṇo abhyās karī
ātmahit arthe je tattvādikano nirṇay kare chhe te
ja dharmātmā paṇḍit samajavo.
vaḷī keṭalāk jīv puṇya-pāpādi phaḷanān nirūpak purāṇādi shāstra, puṇya-pāpakriyānān
nirūpak āchārādi shāstra, tathā guṇasthān, mārgaṇā, karmaprakr̥iti ane trilokādikanān nirūpak
karaṇānuyoganān shāstrono abhyās kare chhe, paṇ jo tenun prayojan pote vichāre nahi to e
popaṭ jevo ja abhyās thayo. ane jo tenun prayojan vichāre chhe to tyān pāpane būrun jāṇavun,
puṇyane bhalun jāṇavun, guṇasthānādik svarūp jāṇī levun. tathā teno jeṭalo abhyās karīshun teṭaluunn
amārun bhalun thashe
ityādi prayojan vichāryun chhe; tenāthī narakādino chhed ane svargādinī
prāpti eṭalun to thashe, parantu tenāthī mokṣhamārganī prāpti to thāy nahi.
pahelān sāchun tattvagnān thāy to pachhī te puṇya-pāpanā phaḷane sansār jāṇe, shuddho-
payogathī mokṣha māne, guṇasthānādirūp jīvanun vyavahāranirūpaṇ jāṇe,ityādi jem chhe tem
shraddhān karī teno abhyās kare to samyaggnān thāy.
have tattvagnānanun kāraṇ to adhyātmarūp dravyānuyoganā shāstra chhe; ane keṭalāk jīv
e shāstrono paṇ abhyās kare chhe parantu jyān jem lakhyun chhe tem pote nirṇay karī
potāne potārūp, parane pararūp tathā āsravādine āsravādirūp shraddhān karatā nathī.
kadāpi mukhathī to yathāvat nirūpaṇ evun paṇ kare ke jenā upadeshathī anya jīv samyagdraṣhṭi
thaī jāy; jem koī chhokaro strīno svāṅg karī evun gāyan kare ke je sāmbhaḷīne anya puruṣh-
strī kāmarūp thaī jāy, paṇ ā to jevun shīkhyo tevun kahe chhe parantu teno bhāv kāī tene
bhāsato nathī tethī pote kāmāsakta thato nathī; tem ā jevun lakhyun chhe tevo upadesh de chhe
parantu pote anubhav karato nathī, jo potāne tenun shraddhān thayun hot to anyatattvano ansh
anyatattvamān na meḷavat paṇ tene tenun ṭhekāṇun nathī, tethī samyaggnān thatun nathī.

paṇ shāstra bhaṇavānā phaḷanā abhāvathī gnānī thato nathī. shāstrādhyayanano guṇ (phaḷ) to e chhe ke--
bhinnavastubhūt gnānamay ātmānun gnān thāy. eṭale te bhinnavastubhūt gnānane nahi shraddhān karavāvāḷo
abhavya shāstra bhaṇavāthī paṇ ātmagnān karavāne samartha thato nathī (arthāt shāstra-bhaṇatar tene shuddhātmagnān
karī shakatun nathī.) tethī tene shāstra bhaṇavānun phaḷ je bhinna ātmāne jāṇavo te tene nathī arthāt satyārtha
gnānashraddhānanā abhāvathī te abhavya agnānī ja chhe evo niyam chhe.

२ यदि करतलामलकीकृतसकलागमसारतया भूतभवद्भावि च स्वोचितपर्यायविशिष्टमशेषद्रव्यजातं
