भवत्यहिंसा । तेषां मृतिर्भवतु वा न वा, प्रयत्नपरिणाममन्तरेण सावद्यपरिहारो न भवति । अत एव प्रयत्नपरे हिंसापरिणतेरभावादहिंसाव्रतं भवतीति ।
न सा तत्रारम्भोऽस्त्यणुरपि च यत्राश्रमविधौ ।
भवानेवात्याक्षीन्न च विकृतवेषोपधिरतः ।।’’

‘‘[shlokArtha — ] jagatamAn vidit chhe ke jIvonI ahinsA param brahma chhe. je AshramanI vidhimAn lesh paN Arambh chhe tyAn ( – te AshramamAn arthAt sagranthapaNAmAn) te ahinsA hotI nathI. mATe tenI siddhine arthe, (he naminAth prabhu!) param karuNAvant evA ApashrIe banne granthane chhoDyA ( – dravya tem ja bhAv banne prakAranA parigrahane tajI nirgranthapaNun angIkRut karyun), vikRut vesh tathA parigrahamAn rat na thayA.’’
