tu prakṣhālitasakalamohakalaṅken samuchchhinna–
kr̥utsnagnānāvaraṇatayātyantamunmudritasamastānubhāven chetakasvabhāven samastavīryāntarāyakṣhayāsāditānant–
vīryā api nirjīrṇakarmaphalatvādatyant–

ṭīkāḥ– yah, 1chetayitr̥utvaguṇakī vyākhyā hai.
koī chetayitā arthāt ātmā to, jo ati prakr̥uṣhṭa mohase malin hai aur jisakā prabhāv
[shakti] ati prakr̥uṣhṭa gnānāvaraṇase mun̐d gayā hai aise chetak–svabhāv dvārā sukhaduḥkharūp ‘karmaphal’ ko
hī pradhānataḥ chetate hain, kyoṅki unakā ati prakr̥uṣhṭa vīryāntarāyase kārya karanekā [–karmachetanārūp
pariṇamit honekā] sāmarthya naṣhṭa gayā hai.
dūsare chetayitā arthāt ātmā, jo ati prakr̥uṣhṭa mohase malin chhe aur jisakā prabhāv 2prakr̥uṣhṭa
gnānāvaraṇase mun̐d gayā hai aise chetakasvabhāv dvārā – bhale hī sukhaduḥkharūp karmaphalake anubhavase
mishritarūpasee bhī – ‘kārya’ ko hī pradhānataḥ chetate hain, kyoṅki unhonne alpa vīryāntarāyake kṣhayopashamase
3kārya karanekā sāmarthya prāpta kiyā hai.
aur dūsare chetayitā arthāt ātmā, jisamense sakal mohakalaṅk dhul gayā hai tathā samasta
gnānāvaraṇake vināshake kāraṇ jisakā samasta prabhāv atyanta vikasit ho gayā hai aise chetakasvabhāv

dvārā ‘gnān’ ko hī – ki jo gnān apanese
1avyatirikta svābhāvik sukhavālā hai usīko –chetate
hain, kyoṅki unhonne samasta vīryāntarāyake kṣhayase ananta vīryako prāpta kiyā hai isaliye unako [vikārī
sukhaduḥkharūp] karmaphal nirjarit ho gayā hai aur atyanta
2kr̥utakr̥utyapanā huā hai [arthāt kuchh bhī
karanā leshamātra bhī nahīn rahā hai].. 38..
gāthā 39
anvayārthaḥ– [sarve sthāvarakāyāḥ] sarva sthāvar jīvasamūh [khalu] vāstavamen [karmaphalan]
karmaphalako vedate hain, [trasāḥ] tras [hi] vāstavamen [kāryayutam] kāryasahit karmaphalako vedate hain
aur [prāṇitvam atikrāntāḥ] jo prāṇitvakā [–prāṇoṅkā] atikram kar gaye hain [te jīvāḥ] ve jīv
[gnānan] gnānako [vindanti] vedate haĩn.
ṭīkāḥ– yahān̐, kaun kyā chetatā hai [arthāt kis jīvako kaunasī chetanā hotī hai] vah kahā
hai.
chetatā hai, anubhav karatā hai, upalabdha karatā hai aur vedatā hai –ye ekārtha hain [arthāt yah sab
shabda ek arthavāle hain], kyoṅki chetanā, anubhūti, upalabdhi aur vedanākā ek artha hai. vahān̐, sthāvar

huā hai tathāpi, unakā vīrya kāryachetanāko [karmachetanāko] nahīn rachatā, [aur vikārī sukhaduḥkh vinaṣhṭa ho gaye
hain isaliye unakā vīrya karmaphal chetaneāko bhī nahīn rachatā,] gnānachetanāko hī rachatā hai.]
vede karamaphal sthāvaro, tras kāryayut phal anubhave,
prāṇitvathī atikrānta je te jīv vede gnānane. 39.

uvaogo khalu duviho ṇāṇeṇ ya dansaṇeṇ sañjutto.
jīvassa savvakālan aṇaṇṇabhūdan viyāṇīhi.. 40..
upayogaḥ khalu dvividho gnānen cha darshanen sanyuktaḥ.
jīvasya sarvakālamananyabhūtan vijānīhi.. 40..

karmaphalako chetate hain, tras kāryako chetate hain, kevalagnānī gnānako chetate haĩn.
bhāvārthaḥ– pān̐ch prakārake sthāvar jīv avyakta sukhaduḥkhānubhavarūp shubhāshubhakarmaphalako chetate haĩn.
dvīindriy ādi tras jīv usī karmaphalako ichchhāpūrvak iṣhṭāniṣhṭa vikalparūp kārya sahit chetate haĩn.
1paripūrṇa gnānavanta bhagavanta [ananta saukhya sahit] gnānako hī chetate haĩn.. 39..
ab upayogaguṇakā vyākhyān hai.

hai. ānshik gnānachetanākī vivakṣhāse to muni, shrāvak tathā avirat samyagdraṣhṭiko bhī gnānachetanā kahī jā
sakatī haie; unakā yahān̐ niṣhedh nahīn samajhanā, mātra vivakṣhābhed hai aisā samajhanā chāhiye.
chhe gnān ne darshan sahit upayog yugal prakārano;
jīvadravyane te sarva kāḷ ananyarūpe jāṇavo. 40

kumadisudavibhaṅgāṇi ya tiṇṇi vi ṇāṇehin sañjutte.. 41..
ābhinibodhikashrutāvadhimanaḥparyayakevalāni gnānāni pañchabhedāni.
kumatishrutavibhaṅgāni cha trīṇyapi gnānaiḥ sanyuktāni.. 41..

anvayārthaḥ– [gnānen cha darshanen sanyuktaḥ] gnān aur darshanase sanyukta aisā [khalu dvividhaḥ]
vāstavamen do prakārakā [upayogaḥ] upayog [jīvasya] jīvako [sarvakālam] sarva kāl [ananyabhūtan]
ananyarūpase [vijānīhi] jāno.
ṭīkāḥ– ātmakā chaitanya–anuvidhāyī [arthāt chaitanyakā anusaraṇ karanevālā] pariṇām so
upayog hai. vah bhī doe prakārakā hai–gnānopayog aur darshanopayoga. vahān̐, visheṣhako grahaṇ karanevālā
gnān hai aur sāmānyako grahaṇ karanevālā darshan hai [arthāt visheṣh jisamen pratibhāsit ho vah gnān
hai aur sāmānya jisamen pratibhāsit ho vah darshan hai]. aur upayog sarvadā jīvase
apr̥uthagbhūt hī
hai, kyoṅki ek astitvase rachit hai.. 40..
gāthā 41
anvayārthaḥ– [ābhinibodhikashrutāvadhimanaḥparyayakevalāni] ābhinibodhik [–mati], shrut, avadhi,
manaḥparyay aur keval–[gnānāni pañchabhedāni] is prakār gnānake pān̐ch bhed hain; [kumatishrutavibhaṅgāni cha]
aur kumati, kushrut aur vibhaṅg–[trīṇi api] yah tīn [agnān] bhī [gnānaiḥ] [pān̐ch] gnānake sāth
[sanyuktāni] sanyukta kiye gaye haĩn. [is prakār gnānopayogake āṭh bhed haĩn.]

tatrābhinibodhikagnānan shrutagnānamavadhignānan manaḥparyayagnānan kevalagnānan kumatignānan kushrut–gnānan
vibhaṅgagnānamiti nāmābhidhānam. ātmā hyanantasarvātmapradeshavyāpivishuddha gnānasāmānyātmā. sa
khalvanādignānāvaraṇakarmāvachchhannapradeshaḥ san, yattadāvaraṇakṣhayopashamādindri–yānindriyāvalambāchcha
mūrtāmūrtadravyan vikalan visheṣheṇāvabudhyate tadābhinibodhikagnānam, yattadā–
varaṇakṣhayopashamādanindriyāvalambāchcha mūrtāmūrtadravyan vikalan visheṣheṇāvabudhyate tat shrutagnānam,
yattadāvaraṇakṣhayopashamādev mūrtadravyan vikalan visheṣheṇāvabudhyate tadavadhignānam, yattadā–varaṇakṣhayopashamādev

indriy–manake avalambanase mūrta–amūrta dravyakā

ābhinibodhikagnān hai, [2] us prakārake [arthāt shrutagnānake] āvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase aur manake

prakārake āvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase hī mūrta dravyakā vikalarūpase visheṣhataḥ avabodhan karatā hai vah
avadhignān hai, [4] us prakārake āvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase hī paramanogat [–dūsaroṅke manake sāth

mithyādarshanodayasahacharitamābhinibodhikagnānamev kumatignānam, mithyādarshanoday–sahacharitan
shrutagnānamev kushrutagnānam, mithyādarshanodayasahacharitamavadhignānamev vibhaṅgagnānamiti svarūpābhidhānam.
itthan matignānādignānopayogāṣhṭakan vyākhyātam.. 41..

visheṣhataḥ avabodhan karatā hai vah svābhāvik kevalagnān hai, [6] mithyādarshanake udayake sāthakā
ābhinibodhikagnān hī kumatignān hai, [7] mithyādarshanake udayake sāthakā shrutagnān hī kushrutagnān hai,
[8] mithyādarshanake udayake sāthakā avadhignān hī vibhaṅgagnān hai. – is prakār [gnānopayogake
bhedoṅke] svarūpakā kathan hai.
is prakār matignānādi āṭh gnānopayogoṅkā vyākhyān kiyā gayā.
bhāvārthaḥ– pratham to, nimnānusār pān̐ch gnānoṅkā svarūp haiḥ–

nishchayanayase akhaṇḍa–ek–vishuddhagnānamay aisā yah ātmā vyavahāranayase sansārāvasthāmen karmāvr̥utta
vartatā huā, matignānāvaraṇakā kṣhayopasham hone par, pān̐ch indriyon aur manase mūrta–amūrta vastuko
vikalparūpase jo jānatā hai vah matignān hai. vah tīn prakārakā haiḥ upalabdhirūp, bhāvanārūp aur
upayogarūpa. matignānāvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase janit arthagrahaṇashakti [–padārthako jānanekī shakti] vah
upalabdhi hai, jāne hue padārthakā punaḥ punaḥ chintan vah bhāvanā hai aur ‘yah kālā hai,’ ‘yah pīlā hai
’ ityādirūpase arthagrahaṇavyāpār [–padārthako jānanekā vyāpār] vah upayog hai. usī prakār vah
[matignān] avagrah, īhā, avāy aur dhāraṇārūp bhedon dvārā athavā koṣhṭhabuddhi, bījabuddhi,
padānusārībuddhi tathā sambhinnashrotr̥utābuddhi aise bhedon dvārā chār prakārakā hai. [yahān̐, aisā tātparya grahaṇ
karanā chāhiye ki nirvikār shuddha anubhūtike prati abhimukh jo matignān vahī upādeyabhūt ananta
sukhakā sādhak honese nishchayase upādey hai, usake sādhanabhūt bahiraṅg matignān to vyavahārase upādey
hai.]

vahī pūrvokta ātmā, shrutagnānāvaraṇakā kṣhayopasham hone par, mūrta–amūrta vastuko parokṣharūpase jo
jānatā hai use gnānī shrutagnān kahate haĩn. vah labdhirūp aur bhāvanārūp haie tathā upayogarūp aur
nayarūp hai. ‘upayog’ shabdase yahān̐ vastuko grahaṇ karanevālā pramāṇ samajhanā chāhiye arthāt sampūrṇa
vastuko jānanevālā gnān samajhanā chāhiye aur ‘nay’ shabdase vastuke [guṇaparyāyarūp] ek deshako
grahaṇ karanevālā aisā gnātākā abhiprāy samajhanā chāhiye. [yahān̐ aisā tātparya grahaṇ karanā chāhiye
ki vishuddhagnānadarshan jisakā svabhāv hai aise shuddha ātmatattvake samyak shraddhān–gnān–anucharaṇarūp
abhedaratnatrayātmak jo bhāvashrut vahī upādeyabhūt paramātmatattvakā sādhak honese nishchayase upādey hai
kintu usake sādhanabhūt bahiraṅg shrutagnān to vyavahārase upādey hai.]
yah ātmā, avadhignānāvaraṇakā kṣhayopasham hone par, mūrta vastuko jo pratyakṣharūpase jānatā hai
vah avadhignān hai. vah avadhignān labdhirūp tathā upayogarūp aisā do prakārakā jānanā. athavā
avadhignān deshāvadhi, paramāvadhi aur sarvāvadhi aise bhedon dvārā tīn prakārase hai. usamen, paramāvadhi aur
sarvāvadhi chaitanyake uchhalanese bharapūr ānandarūp paramasukhāmr̥utake rasāsvādarūp samarasībhāvase pariṇat
charamadehī tapodhanoṅko hotā hai. tīnon prakārake avadhignān nishchayase vishiṣhṭa samyaktvādi guṇase hote
haĩn. devon aur nārakoṅke honevāle bhavapratyayī jo avadhignān vah niyamase deshāvadhi hī hotā hai.

yah ātmā, manaḥparyayagnānāvaraṇakā kṣhayopasham hone par, paramanogat mūrta vastuko jo
pratyakṣharūpase jānatā hai vah manaḥparyayagnān hai. r̥ujumati aur vipulamati aise bhedon dvārā manaḥparyayagnān
do prakārakā hai. vahān̐, vipulamati manaḥparyayagnān parake manavachanakāy sambandhī padārthoṅko, vakra tathā
avakra donoṅko, jānatā hai aur r̥ujumati manaḥparyayagnān to r̥ujuko [avakrako] hī jānatā hai.
nirvikār ātmākī upalabdhi aur bhāvanā sahit charamadehī muniyoṅko vipulamati manaḥparyayagnān hotā
hai. yah donon manaḥparyayagnān vītarāg ātmatattvake samyak shraddhān–gnān–anuṣhṭhānakī bhāvanā sahit,
pandrah pramād rahit apramatta muniko upayogamen–vishuddha pariṇāmamen–utpanna hote haĩn. yahān̐ manaḥparyayagnānake
utpādakālamen hī apramattapanekā niyam hai, phir pramattapanemen bhī vah sambhavit hotā hai.

dansaṇamavi chakkhujudan achakkhujudamavi ya ohiṇā sahiyan.
aṇidhaṇamaṇantavisayan kevaliyan chāvi paṇṇattan.. 42..

jo gnān ghaṭapaṭādi gney padārthoṅkā avalamban lekar utpanna nahīn hotā vah kevalagnān hai. vah
shrutagnānasvarūp bhī nahīn hai. yadyapi divyadhvanikālamen usake ādhārase gaṇadharadev ādiko shrutagnān
pariṇamit hotā hai tathāpi vah shrutagnān gaṇadharadev ādiko hī hotā hai, kevalībhagavantoṅko to
kevalagnān hī hotā hai. punashcha, kevalībhagavantoṅko shrutagnān nahīn hai itanā hī nahīn, kintu unhen
gnān–agnān bhī nahīn hai arthāt unhen kisī viṣhayakā gnān tathā kisī viṣhayakā agnān ho aisā bhī
nahīn hai – sarva viṣhayoṅkā gnān hī hotā hai; athavā, unhen mati–gnānādi anek bhedavālā gnān nahīn
hai – ek kevalagnān hī hai.
yahān̐ jo pān̐ch gnānoṅkā varṇan kiyā gayā hai vah vyavahārase kiyā gayā hai. nishchayase to bādal
rahit sūryakī bhān̐ti ātmā akhaṇḍa–ek–gnān–pratibhāsamay hī hai.
ab agnānatrayake sambandhamen kahate hainḥ–
mithyātva dvārā arthāt bhāv–āvaraṇ dvārā agnān [–kumatignān, kushrutagnān tathā vibhaṅgagnān]
aur aviratibhāv hotā hai tathā gneyakā avalamban lenese [–gney sambandhī vichār athavā gnān
karanese] us–us kāl duḥnay aur duḥpramāṇ hote haĩn. [mithyādarshanake sadbhāvamen vartatā huā
matignān vah kumatignān hai, shrutagnān vah kushrutagnān hai, avadhignān vah vibhaṅgagnān hai; usake
sadbhāvamen vartate hue nay ve duḥnay hain aur pramāṇ vah duḥpramāṇ hai.] isaliye aisā bhāvārtha samajhanā
chāhiye ki nirvikār shuddha ātmākī anubhūtisvarūp nishchay samyaktva upādeyahai.
is prakār gnānopayogakā varṇan kiyā gayā.. 41..

darshanopayogavisheṣhāṇān nāmasvarūpābhidhānametat.
chakṣhurdarshanamachakṣhurdarshanamavadhidarshanan kevaladarshanamiti nāmābhidhānam. ātmā hyanant–
sarvātmapradeshavyāpivishuddhadarshanasāmānyātmā. sa khalvanādidarshanāvaraṇakarmāvachchhannapradeshaḥ san,

achakṣhudarshan, [avadhinā sahitam] avadhidarshan [cha api] aur [anantaviṣhayam] ananta jisakā viṣhay
hai aisā [anidhanam] avināshī [kaivalyan] kevaladarshan [pragnaptam] – aise chār bhedavālā kahā hai.
ṭīkāḥ– yah, darshanopayogake bhedoṅke nām aur svarūpakā kathan hai.
[1] chakṣhudarshan, [2] achakṣhudarshan, [3] avadhidarshan aur [4] kevaladarshan – is prakār
[darshanopayogake bhedoṅke] nāmakā kathan hai.
[ab usake svarūpakā kathan kiyā jātā haiḥ–] ātmā vāstavamen ananta, sarva ātmapradeshommen
vyāpak, vishuddha darshanasāmānyasvarūp hai. vah [ātmā] vāstavamen anādi darshanāvaraṇakarmase āchchhādit
pradeshomvālā vartatā huā, [1] us prakārake [arthāt chakṣhudarshanake] āvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase aur chakṣhu–

na vikalpyate gnānāt gnānī gnānāni bhavantyanekāni.
tasmāttu vishvarūpan bhaṇitan dravyamiti gnānibhiḥ.. 43..
ekasyātmano‘nekagnānātmakatvasamarthanametat.
na tāvajgnānī gnānātpr̥uthagbhavati, dvayorapyekāstitvanirvr̥uttatvenaikadravyatvāt,

haie, [3] us prakārake āvaraṇake kṣhayopashamase hī mūrta dravyako vikarūpase sāmānyataḥ avabodhan karatā
hai vah avadhidarshan hai, [4] samasta āvaraṇake atyanta kṣhayase, keval hī [–ātmā akelā hī],
mūrta–amūrta dravyako sakalarūpasee sāmānyataḥ avabodhan karatā hai vah svābhāvik kevaladarshan hai. –is
prakār [darshanopayogake bhedoṅke] svarūpakā kathan hai.. 42..
gāthā 43
anvayārthaḥ– [gnānāt] gnānase [gnānī na vikalpyate] gnānīkā [–ātmākā] bhed nahīn kiyā
jātā; [gnānāni anekāni bhavanti] tathāpi gnān anek hai. [tasmāt tu] isaliye to [gnānibhiḥ]
gnāniyonne [dravyan] dravyako [vishvarūpam iti bhaṇitam] vishvarūp [–anekarūp] kahā hai.
ṭīkāḥ– ek ātmā anek gnānātmak honekā yah samarthan hai.
pratham to gnānī [–ātmā] gnānase pr̥uthak nahīn hai; kyoṅki donoen ek astitvase rachit honese

yadi bhavati dravyamanyadguṇatashcha guṇāshcha dravyato‘nye.
dravyānantyamathavā dravyābhāvan prakr̥urvanti.. 44..
dravyasya guṇebhyo bhede, guṇānān cha dravyādbhede doṣhopanyāso‘yam.

donoṅko ekadravyapanā hai, donoṅke abhinna pradesh honese donoṅko ekakṣhetrapanā hai, donon ek samayameen rache
jāte honese donoṅko ekakālapanā hai, donoṅkā ek svabhāv honese donoṅko ekabhāvapanā hai. kintu
aisā kahā jāne par bhī, ek ātmāmen ābhinibodhik [–mati] ādi anek gnān virodh nahīn pāte,
kyoṅki dravya vishvarūp hai. dravya vāstavamen sahavartī aur kramavartī aise ananta guṇon tathā paryāyoṅkā
ādhār honeke kāraṇ anantarūpavālā honese, ek hone par bhī,

anvayārthaḥ– [yadi] yadi [dravyan] dravya [guṇataḥ] guṇonse [anyat cha bhavati] anya [–bhinna]

[athavā] athavā [dravyābhāvan] dravyakā abhāv [prakurvanti] ho.
ṭīkāḥ– dravyakā guṇonse bhinnatva ho aur guṇoṅkā dravyase bhinnatva ho to doṣh ātā hai usakā
yah kathan hai.

guṇ vāstavamen kisīke āshrayase hote hain; [ve] jisake āshrit hon vah dravya hotā hai. vah
[–dravya] yadi guṇonse anya [–bhinna] ho to–phir bhī, guṇ kisīke āshrit hoṅge; [ve] jisake
āshrit hon vah dravya hotā hai. vah yadi guṇonse anya ho to– phir bhī guṇ kisīke āshrit hoṅge;
[ve] jisake āshrit hon vah dravya hotā hai. vah bhī guṇose anya hī ho.–– is prakār, yadi
dravyakā guṇonse bhinnatva ho to, dravyakī anantatā ho.
vāstavamen dravya arthāt guṇoṅkā samudāya. guṇ yadi samudāyase anya ho to samudāy kaisā?
[arthāt yadi guṇoṅko samudāyase bhinna mānā jāye to samudāy kahān̐se ghaṭit hogā? arthāt dravya hī
kahān̐se ghaṭit hogā?] is prakār, yadi guṇoṅkā dravyase bhinnatva ho to, dravyakā abhāv ho.. 44..

anvayārthaḥ– [dravyaguṇānām] dravya aur guṇoṅko [avibhaktam ananyatvam] avibhaktapanerūp
ananyapanā hai; [nishchayagnāḥ hi] nishchayake gnātā [teṣhām] unhen [vibhaktam anyatvam] vibhaktapanerūp
anyapanā [vā] yā [tadviparītan] [vibhaktapanerūp] ananyapanā [na ichchhanti] nahīn mānate.

dravya aur guṇoṅko 1avibhaktapradeshatvasvarūp ananyapanā svīkār kiyā jātā hai; parantu
vibhaktapradeshatvasvarūp anyapanā tathā [vibhaktapradeshatvasvarūp] ananyapanā svīkār nahīn kiyā jātā.
vah spaṣhṭa samajhāyā jātā haiḥ– jis prakār ek paramāṇuko ek svapradeshake sāth avibhaktapanā honese
ananyapanā hai, usī prakār ek paramāṇuko tathā usamen rahanevāle sparsha–ras–gandh–varṇa ādi guṇoṅko
avibhakta pradesh honese [avibhakta–pradeshatvasvarūp] ananyapanā hai; parantu jis prakār atyanta dūr aise
2sahya aur vindhyako vibhaktapradeshatvasvarūp anyapanā hai tathā atyanta nikaṭ aise mishrit 3kṣhīr–nīrako
vibhaktapradeshatvasvarūp ananyapanā hai, usī prakār dravya aur guṇoṅko vibhakta pradesh na honese

hotā haie, usī prakār ‘vr̥ukṣhakī shākhā,’ ‘dravyake guṇ’ aise ananyapanemen bhī [ṣhaṣhṭhīvyapadesh] hotā haie.
jis prakār‘devadatta phalako aṅkush dvārā dhanadattake liyee vr̥ukṣha parase bagīchemen toṛatā hai’ aise anyapanemen
kārakavyapadesh hotā haie, usī prakār
miṭṭī svayam ghaṭabhāvako [–ghaṛārūp pariṇāmako] apane dvārā
apane liye apanemense apanemen karatī hai’, ‘ātmā ātmako ātmā dvārā ātmāke liye ātmāmense
ātmāmen jānatā hai’ aise ananyapanemen bhī [kārakavyapadesh] hotā haie. jis prakār ‘ūn̐che devadattakī

ādhār] hotā hai, usī prakār ‘vr̥ukṣhamen shākhāyen’, ‘dravyamen guṇ’ aise ananyapanemen bhī [viṣhay] hotā
hai. isaliye [aisā samajhanā chāhiye ki] vyapadesh ādi, dravya–guṇommen vasturūpase bhed siddha nahīn

anvayārthaḥ– [yathā] jis prakār [dhanan] dhan [cha] aur [gnānan] gnān [dhaninan] [puruṣhako]
‘dhanī’ [cha] aur [gnāninan] ‘gnānī’ [karoti] karate hain– [dvividhābhyām bhaṇanti] aise do prakārase
kahā jātā hai, [tathā] usī prakār [tattvagnāḥ] tattvagna [pr̥uthaktvam] pr̥uthaktva [cha api] tathā

[achetanatvan prasajati] achetanapanekā prasaṅg āye– [samyag jināvamatam] jo ki jinoṅko samyak
prakārase asammat hai.

ṭīkāḥ– dravya aur guṇoṅko arthāntarapanā ho to yah [nimnānusār] doṣh āyegā.
yadi gnānī [–ātmā] gnānase arthāntarabhūt ho to [ātmā] apane karaṇ–ansh binā, kulhāṛī
rahit devadattakī bhān̐ti, 1karaṇakā vyāpār karanemen asamartha honese nahīn chetatā [–jānatā] huā
achetan hī hogā. aur yadi gnān gnānīse [–ātmāse] arthāntarabhūt ho to gnān apane kartr̥u–anshake
binā, devadatta rahit kulhāṛīkī bhān̐ti, apane
2kartākā vyāpār karanemen asamartha honese nahīn chetatā
[–jānatā] huā achetan hī hogā. punashcha, 3yutasiddha aise gnān aur gnānīko [–gnān aur
ātmāko] sanyogase chetanapanā ho aisā bhī nahīn hai, kyoṅki nirvisheṣh dravya aur nirāshray guṇ shūnya
hote haĩn.. 48..

1. karaṇakā vyāpār = sādhanakā kārya. [ātmā kartā hai aur gnān karaṇ hai. yadi ātmā gnānase bhinna hī ho to
ātmā sādhanakā vyāpār arthāt gnānakā kārya karanemen asamartha honese jān nahīn sakegā isaliye ātmāko
achetanatva ā jāyegā.]
2. kartākā vyāpār = kartākā kārya. [gnān karaṇ haie aur ātmā kartā hai. yadi gnān ātmāse bhinna hī ho to
gnān kartākā vyāpār arthāt ātmākā kārya karanemen asamartha honese jān nahīn sakegā isaliye gnānako
achetanapanā ā jāvegā.]
3. yutasiddha = juṛakar siddha hue; samavāyase–sanyogase siddha hue. [jis prakār lakaṛī aur manuṣhya pr̥uthak hone
par bhī lakaṛīke yogase manuṣhya ‘lakaṛīvālā’ hotā hai usī prakār gnān aur ātmā pr̥uthak hone par bhī
gnānake sāth yukta hokar ātmā ‘gnānavālā [–gnānī]’ hotā hai aisā bhī nahīn hai. lakaṛī aur manuṣhyakī
bhān̐ti gnān aur ātmā kabhī pr̥uthak hoṅge hī kaise? visheṣharahit dravya ho hī nahīn sakatā, isaliye gnān rahit
ātmā kaisā? aur āshray binā guṇ ho hī nahīn sakatā, isaliye ātmāke binā gnān kaisā? isaliye
‘lakaṛī’ aur ‘lakaṛīvāle’kī bhān̐ti ‘gnān’ aur ‘gnānī’kā yutasiddhapanā ghaṭit nahīn hotā.]

agnānīti cha vachanamekatvaprasādhakan bhavati.. 49..
gnānagnāninoḥ samavāyasambandhanirāso‘yam.
na khalugnānādarthāntarabhūtaḥ puruṣho gnānasamavāyāt gnānī bhavatītyupapannam. sa khalu
gnānasamavāyātpūrvan kin gnānī kimagnānī? yadi gnānī tadā gnānasamavāyo niṣhphalaḥ. athāgnānī tadā
kimagnānasamavāyāt, kimagnānen sahaikatvāt? na tāvadagnānasamavāyāt; agnānino hyagnānasamavāyo
niṣhphalaḥ, gnānitvan tu gnānasamavāyābhāvānnāstyeva. tato‘gnānīti vachanamagnānen sahaikatvamavashyan

anvayārthaḥ– [gnānataḥ arthāntaritaḥ tu] gnānase arthāntarabhūt [saḥ] aisā vah [–ātmā]
[samavāyāt] samavāyase [gnānī] gnānī hotā hai [na hi] aisā vāstavamen nahīn hai. [agnānī]
‘agnānī’ [iti cha vachanam] aisā vachan [ekatvaprasādhakan bhavati] [guṇ–guṇīke] ekatvako siddha
karatā hai.
ṭīkāḥ– yah, gnān aur gnānīko samavāyasambandha honekā nirākaraṇ [khaṇḍan] hai.

gnānase arthāntarabhūt ātmā gnānake samavāyase gnānī hotā hai aisā mānanā vāstavamen yogya nahīn hai.
[ātmāko gnānake samavāyase gnānī honā mānā jāye to ham pūchhate hain ki] vah [–ātmā] gnānakā
samavāy honese pahale vāstavamen gnānī hai ki agnānī? yadi gnānī hai [aisā kahā jāye] to gnānakā
samavāy niṣhphal hai. ab yadi agnānī hai [aisā kahā jāye] to [pūchhate hain ki] agnānake samavāyase
agnānī hai ki agnānake sāth ekatvase agnānī hai? pratham, agnānake samavāyase agnānī ho nahīn
sakatā; kyoṅki agnānīko agnānakā samavāy niṣhphal hai aur gnānīpanā to gnānake samavāyakā abhāv
honese hai hī nahīnn. isaliye ‘agnānī’ aisā vachan agnānake sāth ekatvako avashya siddha karatā hī
hai. aur is prakār agnānake sāth ekatva siddha honese gnānake sāth bhī ekatva avashya siddha hotā
hai.

tasmādrravyaguṇānān ayutā siddhiriti nirdiṣhṭā.. 50..

bhāvārthaḥ– ātmāko aur gnānako ekatva hai aisā yahān̐ yuktise samajhāyā hai.
prashnaḥ– chhadmasthadashāmen jīvako mātra alpagnān hī hotā hai aur kevalīdashāmen to paripūrṇa gnān–
kevalagnān hotā hai; isaliye vahān̐ to kevalībhagavānako gnānakā samavāy [–kevalagnānakā sanyog]
huā na?
uttaraḥ– nahīn, aisā nahīn hai. jīvako aur gnānaguṇako sadaiv ekatva hai, abhinnatā hai.
chhadmasthadashāmen bhī us abhinna gnānaguṇamen shaktirūpase kevalagnān hotā hai. kevalīdashāmen, us abhinna
gnānaguṇamen shaktirūpase sthit kevalagnān vyakta hotā hai; kevalagnān kahīn bāharase ākar
kevalībhagavānake ātmāke sāth samavāyako prāpta hotā ho aisā nahīn hai. chhadmasthadashāmen aur
kevalīdashāmen jo gnānakā antar dikhāī detā hai vah mātra shakti–vyaktirūp antar samajhanā chāhiye..

anvayārthaḥ– [samavartitvan samavāyaḥ] samavartīpanā vah samavāy hai; [apr̥uthagbhūtatvam] vahī,
apr̥uthakpanā [cha] aur [ayutasiddhatvam] ayutasiddhapanā hai. [tasmāt] isaliye [dravyaguṇānām]
dravya aur guṇoṅkī [ayutā siddhiḥ iti] ayutasiddhi [nirdiṣhṭā] [jinonne] kahī hai.

[–dravya aur guṇoṅko sañgnā– lakṣhaṇ–prayojan ādikī apekṣhāse bhed hone par bhī] vasturūpase abhed
honese apr̥uthakpanā hai; vahī, yutasiddhike kāraṇabhūt
1astitvāntarakā abhāv honese ayutasiddhapanā hai.
