na khalu bahiransaṅgadbhāve tuṣhasadbhāve taṇḍulagatāshuddhatvasyevāshuddhopayogarūp- syāntaraṅgachchhedasya pratiṣhedhaḥ, tadbhāve cha na shuddhopayogamūlasya kaivalyasyopalambhaḥ . ato‘shuddhop- niravadyāhārādisahakārikāraṇan grāhyamiti punarapyapavādavisheṣhavyākhyānamukhyatven ‘uvayaraṇan jiṇamagge’ ityādyekādashagāthā bhavanti . atra ṭīkāyān gāthāchatuṣhṭayan nāsti . evan mūlasūtrābhiprāyeṇ trinshadgāthābhiḥ, ṭīkāpekṣhayā punardvādashagāthābhiḥ dvitīyāntarādhikāre samudāyapātanikā . tathāhi — ath bhāvashuddhi- pūrvakabahiraṅgaparigrahaparityāge kr̥ute sati abhyantaraparigrahaparityāgaḥ kr̥ut ev bhavatīti nirdishati – ṇa hi ṇiravekkho chāgo na hi nirapekṣhastyāgaḥ yadi chet, parigrahatyāgaḥ sarvathā nirapekṣho na bhavati kintu kimapi vastrapātrādikan grāhyamiti bhavatā bhaṇyate, tarhi he shiṣhya ṇa havadi bhikkhussa āsayavisuddhī na bhavati bhikṣhorāshayavishuddhiḥ, tadā sāpekṣhapariṇāme sati bhikṣhostapodhanasya chittashuddhirna bhavati . avisuddhasya hi chitte shuddhātmabhāvanārūpashuddhirahitasya tapodhanasya chitte manasi hi sphuṭan kahan tu kammakkhao vihido kathan tu karmakṣhayo vihitaḥ uchito, na kathamapi . anenaitaduktan bhavati — yathā bahiraṅgatuṣhasadbhāve sati taṇḍulasyābhyantarashuddhin kartun nāyāti tathā vidyamāne vā bahiraṅgapari- grahābhilāṣhe sati nirmalashuddhātmānubhūtirūpān chittashuddhin kartun nāyāti . yadi punarvishiṣhṭavairāgya-
ab, is upadhi (parigrah) kā niṣhedh vah antaraṅg chhedakā hī niṣhedh hai, aisā upadesh karate hain : —
anvayārtha : — [nirapekṣhaḥ tyāgaḥ na hi ] yadi nirapekṣha (kisī bhī vastukī apekṣhārahit) tyāg na ho to [bhikṣhoḥ ] bhikṣhuke [āshayavishuddhiḥ ] bhāvakī vishuddhi [na bhavati ] nahīn hotī; [cha ] aur [chitte avishuddhasya ] jo bhāvamen avishuddha hai usake [karmakṣhayaḥ ] karmakṣhay [kathan nu ] kaise [vihitaḥ ] ho sakatā hai ?..220..
ṭīkā : — jaise chhilakeke sadbhāvamen chāvalomme pāī jānevālī (raktatārūp) ashuddhatākā tyāg (-nāsh, abhāv) nahīn hotā, usīprakār bahiraṅg saṅgake sadbhāvamen

pūrvakaparigrahatyāgo bhavati tadā chittashuddhirbhavatyev, khyātipūjālābhanimittatyāge tu na bhavati ..220.. ath tamev parigrahatyāgan draḍhayati —
geṇhadi va chelakhaṇḍan gr̥uhṇāti vā chelakhaṇḍan vastrakhaṇḍan, bhāyaṇan bhikṣhābhājanan vā atthi tti bhaṇidan astīti bhaṇitamāste . kva . ih sutte ih vivakṣhitāgamasūtre jadi yadi chet . so chattālambo havadi kahan nirālambanaparamātmatattvabhāvanāshūnyaḥ san sa puruṣho bahirdravyālambanarahitaḥ kathan bhavati, na kathamapi; vā aṇārambho niḥkriyanirārambhanijātmatattvabhāvanārahitatven nirārambho vā kathan bhavati, kintu sārambha ev; iti prathamagāthā . vatthakkhaṇḍan duddiyabhāyaṇan vastrakhaṇḍan dugdhikābhājanan aṇṇan cha geṇhadi anyachcha gr̥uhṇāti kambalamr̥udushayanādikan yadi chet . tadā kin bhavati . ṇiyadan vijjadi pāṇārambho nijashuddhachaitanya- ashuddhopayogarūp antaraṅg chhedakā tyāg nahīn hotā aur usake sadbhāvamen shuddhopayogamūlak kaivalya (mokṣha) kī upalabdhi nahīn hotī . (isase aisā kahā gayā hai ki) ashuddhopayogarūp antaraṅg chhedake niṣhedharūp prayojanakī upekṣhā rakhakar vihit (-ādesh) kiyā jānevālā upadhikā niṣhedh vah antaraṅg chhedakā hī niṣhedh hai ..220..

upadhisadbhāve hi mamatvapariṇāmalakṣhaṇāyā mūrchchhāyāstadviṣhayakarmaprakramapariṇāmalakṣhaṇ- syārambhasya shuddhātmarūpahinsanapariṇāmalakṣhaṇasyāsanyamasya vāvashyambhāvitvāttathopadhidvitīyasya par- dravyaratatven shuddhātmadravyaprasādhakatvābhāvāchcha aikāntikāntaraṅgachchhedatvamupadheravadhāryat ev . idamatra tātparyamevamvidhatvamupadheravadhārya sa sarvathā sannyastavyaḥ ..221.. lakṣhaṇaprāṇavināsharūpo parajīvaprāṇavināsharūpo vā niyatan nishchitan prāṇārambhaḥ prāṇavadho vidyate, na kevalan prāṇārambhaḥ, vikkhevo tassa chittammi avikṣhiptachittaparamayogarahitasya saparigrahapuruṣhasya vikṣhepastasya vidyate chitte manasīti . iti dvitīyagāthā . geṇhai svashuddhātmagrahaṇashūnyaḥ san gr̥uhṇāti kimapi bahirdravyan; vidhuṇai karmadhūlin vihāy bahiraṅgadhūlin vidhūnoti vināshayati; dhovai nirmalaparamātmatattvamalajanakarāgādimalan vihāy bahiraṅgamalan dhauti prakṣhālayati; sosei jadan tu ādave khittā nirvikalpadhyānātapen sansāranadī- shoṣhaṇamakurvan shoṣhayati shuṣhkan karoti yatan tu yatnaparan tu yathā bhavati . kin kr̥utvā . ātape nikṣhipya . kin tat . pattan va chelakhaṇḍan pātran vastrakhaṇḍan vā . bibhedi nirbhayashuddhātmatattvabhāvanāshūnyaḥ san bibheti bhayan karoti . kasmātsakāshāt . parado ya paratashchaurādeḥ . pālayadi paramātmabhāvanān na pālayanna rakṣhanparadravyan kimapi pālayatīti tr̥utīyagāthā ..“17 – 19.. ath saparigrahasya niyamen chittashuddhirnashyatīti vistareṇākhyāti — kidh tamhi ṇatthi muchchhā paradravyamamatvarahitachichchamatkārapariṇatervisadr̥ushā mūrchchhā kathan
anvayārtha : — [tasmin ] upadhike sadbhāvamen [tasya ] us (bhikṣhu) ke [mūrchchhā ] mūrchhā, [ārambhaḥ ] ārambh [vā ] yā [asanyamaḥ ] asanyam [nāsti ] na ho [kathan ] yah kaise ho sakatā hai ? (kadāpi nahīn ho sakatā), [tathā ] tathā [paradravye rataḥ ] jo paradravyamen rat ho vah [ātmānan ] ātmāko [kathan ] kaise [prasādhayati ] sādh sakatā hai ? ..221..
ṭīkā : — upadhike sadbhāvamen, (1) mamatva – pariṇām jisakā lakṣhaṇ hai aisī mūrchhā, (2) upadhi sambandhī 1karmaprakramake pariṇām jisakā lakṣhaṇ hai aisā ārambha, athavā (3) shuddhātmasvarūpakī hinsārūp pariṇām jisakā lakṣhaṇ hai aisā asanyam avashyamev hotā hī hai; tathā upadhi jisakā dvitīy ho (arthāt ātmāse anya aisā parigrah jisane grahaṇ kiyā ho) usake paradravyamen ratapanā ( – līnatā) honeke kāraṇ shuddhātmadravyakī sādhakatākā abhāv hotā hai; isase upadhike aikāntik antaraṅg chhedapanā nishchit hotā hī hai .
yahān̐ yah tātparya hai ki — ‘upadhi aisī hai, (parigrah vah antaraṅg chhed hī hai ), aisā nishchit karake use sarvathā chhoṛanā chāhiye ..221.. 1. karmaprakram = kāmamen yukta honā; kāmakī vyavasthā .

ātmadravyasya dvitīyapudgaladravyābhāvātsarva evopadhiḥ pratiṣhiddha ityutsargaḥ . ayan tu nāsti, api tvastyev . kva . tasmin parigrahākāṅkṣhitapuruṣhe . ārambho vā manovachanakāyakriyārahit- paramachaitanyapratibandhak ārambho vā kathan nāsti, kintvastyev; asañjamo tassa shuddhātmānubhūtivilakṣhaṇā- sanyamo vā kathan nāsti, kintvastyev tasya saparigrahasya . tadh paradavvammi rado tathaiv nijātmadravyātparadravye rataḥ kadhamappāṇan pasādhayadi sa tu saparigrahapuruṣhaḥ kathamātmānan prasādhayati, na kathamapīti ..221.. evan shvetāmbaramatānusārishiṣhyasambodhanārthan nirgranthamokṣhamārgasthāpanamukhyatven prathamasthale gāthāpañchakan gatam . ath kālāpekṣhayā paramopekṣhāsanyamashaktyabhāve satyāhārasanyamashauchagnānopakaraṇādikan kimapi grāhyamityapavādamupadishati — chhedo jeṇ ṇa vijjadi chhedo yen na vidyate . yenopakaraṇen shuddhopayog- lakṣhaṇasanyamasya chhedo vināsho na vidyate . kayoḥ . gahaṇavisaggesu grahaṇavisargayoḥ . yasyop- karaṇasyānyavastuno vā grahaṇe svīkāre visarjane tyāge . kin kurvataḥ tapodhanasya . sevamāṇassa tadupakaraṇan sevamānasya . samaṇo teṇih vaṭṭadu kālan khettan viyāṇittā shramaṇastenopakaraṇeneh loke vartatām . kin kr̥utvā . kālan kṣhetran cha vignāyeti . ayamatra bhāvārthaḥ – kālan pañchamakālan shītoṣhṇādikālan vā, kṣhetran bharatakṣhetran manuṣhajāṅgalādikṣhetran vā, vignāy yenopakaraṇen svasamvittilakṣhaṇabhāvasanyamasya bahiraṅgadravyasanyamasya vā chhedo na bhavati ten vartat iti ..222.. ath pūrvasūtroditopakaraṇasvarūpan darshayati — appaḍikuṭṭhan uvadhin
ab, ‘kisīke kahīn kabhī kisī prakār koī upadhi aniṣhiddha bhī hai’ aise apavādakā upadesh karate hain : —
anvayārtha : — [grahaṇavisargeṣhu ] jis upadhike (āhār – nīhārādike) grahaṇ- visarjanamen sevan karanemen [yen ] jisase [sevamānasya ] sevan karanevāleke [chhedaḥ ] chhed [na vidyate ] nahīn hotā, [ten ] us upadhiyukta, [kālan kṣhetran vignāy ] kāl kṣhetrako jānakar, [ih ] is lokamen [shramaṇaḥ ] shramaṇ [vartatām ] bhale varte ..222..
te upadhi sah varto bhale muni kāḷakṣhetra vijāṇīne. 222.
