paṁcasamido tigutto paṁceṁdiyasaṁvuḍo jidakasāo .
yaḥ khalvanekāntaketanāgamajñānabalen sakalapadārthajñeyākārakaraṁbitaviśadaikajñānākār- mātmānaṁ śraddadhāno‘nubhavaṁścātmanyev nityaniścalāṁ vr̥ttimicchan samitipaṁcakāṁku śitapravr̥ttipravartit-
cāgo ya nijaśuddhātmaparigrahaṁ kr̥tvā bāhyābhyantaraparigrahanivr̥ttistyāgaḥ . aṇāraṁbho niḥkriyanij- śuddhātmadravye sthitvā manovacanakāyavyāpāranivr̥ttiranārambhaḥ . visayavirāgo nirviṣayasvātmabhāvanotthasukhe tr̥ptiṁ kr̥tvā pañcendriyasukhābhilāṣatyāgo viṣayavirāgaḥ. khao kasāyāṇaṁ niḥkaṣāyaśuddhātmabhāvanābalen krodhādikaṣāyatyāgaḥ kaṣāyakṣayaḥ . so saṁjamo tti bhaṇido sa evaṁguṇaviśiṣṭaḥ saṁyam iti bhaṇitaḥ . pavvajjāe viseseṇ sāmānyenāpi tāvadidaṁ saṁyamalakṣaṇaṁ, pravrajyāyāṁ tapaścaraṇāvasthāyāṁ viśeṣeṇeti . atrābhyantaraśuddhātmasaṁvittirbhāvasaṁyamo, bahiraṅganivr̥ttiśca dravyasaṁyam iti ..“35.. athāgamajñānatattvārtha- akiṁcitkar hī hai ..239..
ab āgamajñān – tattvārthaśraddhān – saṁyatattvake yugapatpaneke sāth ātmajñānake yugapatpaneko sādhate haiṁ; (arthāt āgamajñān, tattvārthaśraddhān aur saṁyatattva — is trikake sāth ātmajñānake yugapatpaneko siddha karate haiṁ ) : —
anvayārtha : — [paṁcasamitiḥ ] pān̐c samitiyukta, [paṁcendriy -saṁvr̥taḥ ] pāṁc indriyoṁkā saṁvaravālā [triguptaḥ ] tīn gupti sahit, [jitakaṣāyaḥ ] kaṣāyoṁko jītanevālā, [darśanajñānasamagraḥ ] darśanajñānase paripūrṇa — [śramaṇaḥ ] aisā jo śramaṇ [saḥ ] vah [saṁyataḥ ] saṁyat [bhaṇitaḥ ] kahā gayā hai ..240..
ṭīkā : — jo puruṣ anekāntaketan āgamajñānake balase, sakal padārthoṁke jñeyākāroṁke sāth milit hotā huā, viśad ek jñān jisakā ākār hai aise ātmākā śraddhān
