asanyatasya cha yathoditātmatattvapratītirūpan shraddhānan yathoditātmatattvānubhūtirūpan gnānan vā kin kuryāt . tataḥ sanyamashūnyāt shraddhānāt gnānādvā nāsti siddhiḥ . at āgamagnānatattvārtha- shraddhānasanyatatvānāmayaugapadyasya mokṣhamārgatvan vighaṭetaiv ..237..
athāgamagnānatattvārthashraddhānasanyatatvānān yaugapadye‘pyātmagnānasya mokṣhamārgasādhakatamatvan dyotayati —
shraddhānagnānasahito‘pi pauruṣhasthānīyachāritrabalen rāgādivikalparūpādasanyamādyadi na nivartate tadā tasya shraddhānan gnānan vā kin kuryāt, na kimapīti . ataḥ etadāyāti – paramāgamagnānatattvārthashraddhānasanyatatvānān madhye dvayenaiken vā nirvāṇan nāsti, kintu trayeṇeti ..237.. evan bhedābhedaratnatrayātmakamokṣhamārga- sthāpanamukhyatven dvitīyasthale gāthāchatuṣhṭayan gatam . kiñch bahirātmāvasthāntarātmāvasthāparamātmāvasthā- mokṣhāvasthātrayan tiṣhṭhati . avasthātraye‘nugatākāran dravyan tiṣhṭhati . evan parasparasāpekṣhadravyaparyāyātmako jīvapadārthaḥ. tatra mokṣhakāraṇan chintyate . mithyātvarāgādirūpā bahirātmāvasthā tāvadashuddhā, muktikāraṇan ātmatattvakī pratītirūp shraddhān yā yathokta ātmatattvakī anubhūtirūp gnān kyā karegā ? isaliye sanyamashūnya shraddhānase yā gnānase siddhi nahīn hotī .
isase āgamagnān – tattvārthashraddhān – sanyatattvake ayugapatpaneko mokṣhamārgapanā ghaṭit nahīn hotā ..237..
ab, āgamagnān – tattvārthashraddhān – sanyatattvakā yugapatpanā hone par bhī, ātmagnān mokṣhamārgakā sādhakatam (utkr̥uṣhṭa sādhak) hai aisā samajhāte hain : —
anvayārtha : — [yat karma ] jo karma [agnānī ] agnānī [bhavashatasahasrakoṭibhiḥ ] lakṣhakoṭi bhavommen [kṣhapayati ] khapātā hai, [tat ] vah karma [gnānī ] gnānī [tribhiḥ guptaḥ ] tīn prakār (man – vachan – kāy) se gupta honese [uchchhvāsamātreṇ ] uchchhvāsamātramen [kṣhapayati ] khapā detā hai ..238..
te karma gnānī trigupta bas uchchhvāsamātrathī kṣhay kare. 238.
