sūtrārthavaishāradyapravartitasanyamatapaḥsvatattvagnānānāmev shramaṇānāmabhyutthānādikāḥ pravr̥uttayo- ‘pratiṣhiddhā, itareṣhān tu shramaṇābhāsānān tāḥ pratiṣhiddhā ev ..263.. padārthaparignānārthamupāseyāḥ paramabhaktyā sevanīyāḥ . sañjamatavaṇāṇaḍḍhā paṇivadaṇīyā hi sanyamatapognānāḍhayāḥ praṇipatanīyāḥ hi sphu ṭan . bahiraṅgendriyasanyamaprāṇasanyamabalenābhyantare svashuddhātmani yatnaparatvan sanyamaḥ . bahiraṅgānashanāditapobalenābhyantare paradravyechchhānirodhen cha svasvarūpe pratapanan vijayanan tapaḥ . bahiraṅga- paramāgamābhyāsenābhyantare svasamvedanagnānan samyaggnānam . evamuktalakṣhaṇaiḥ sanyamatapognānairāḍhayāḥ paripūrṇā yathāsambhavan prativandanīyāḥ . kaiḥ . samaṇehin shramaṇairiti . atredan tātparyam — ye bahushrutā api chāritrādhikā na bhavanti, te‘pi paramāgamābhyāsanimittan yathāyogyan vandanīyāḥ . dvitīyan cha kāraṇam — te samyaktve gnāne cha pūrvamev dr̥uḍhatarāḥ, asya tu navataratapodhanasya samyaktve gnāne chāpi dāḍharyan nāsti . tarhi stokachāritrāṇān kimarthamāgame vandanādiniṣhedhaḥ kr̥ut iti chet . atiprasaṅganiṣhedhārthamiti ..263..
ab shramaṇabhāsoṅke prati samasta pravr̥uttiyoṅkā niṣhedh karate hain : —
anvayārtha : — [shramaṇaiḥ hi ] shramaṇoṅke dvārā [sūtrārthavishāradāḥ ] sūtrārthavishārad (sūtroṅke aur sūtrakathit padārthoṅke gnānamen nipuṇ) tathā [sanyamatapognānāḍhayāḥ ] sanyamatapagnānāḍhay, (sanyam, tap aur ātmagnānamen samr̥uddha) [shramaṇaḥ ] shramaṇ [abhyuttheyāḥ upāseyāḥ praṇipatanīyāḥ ] abhyutthān, upāsanā aur praṇām karane yogya hain ..263..
