वृद्धिकरम्] uttam tap tathā svādhyāyanī vr̥uddhi karanār chhe [तत् एव] te ja [देयं] devā yogya chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘यत् (वस्तु) रागद्वेष असंयम मद दुःख भयादिकं न कुरुते तत् एव मुतपः स्वाध्यायवृद्धिकरं द्रव्यं देयम्।’–arthaḥ–je vastu rāg, dveṣh, asanyam, mad, duḥkh ane bhay utpattinun kāraṇ nathī ane je vastu tap ane shāstranā svādhyāyane vadhāranār chhe tenun ja dān karavun joīe.

bhāvārthaḥ– je dravyanun dān āpavāthī potānā karmonī nirjarā thāy ane pātrajīvone tap, svādhyāy vagerenī vr̥uddhi thāy tevān dravyonun ja dān shrāvake āpavun joīe. jenāthī āḷas vagerenī vr̥uddhi thāy evān gariṣhṭha bhojan vagerenun dān āpavun nahi. āvun utkr̥uṣhṭa dān chār prakāranun chhe. 1–āhāradān–sharīranī sthiratā māṭe āhār āpavo te pahelun dān chhe. 2– auṣhadhadān–rogādinī pīḍā dūr karavā māṭe auṣhadh āpavun te bījun dān chhe. 3–gnānadān– agnānano nāsh ane gnānano vikās karavā māṭe shāstra vagere āpavān te trījun gnānadān chhe. 4–abhayadān–jaṅgalamān jhūmpaḍī, vasatikā, dharmashāḷā vagere bandhāvī āpavī. andhārāvāḷā rastāmān prakāsh ādi thāy tevī vyavasthā karāvī āpavī te chothun abhayadān chhe. ā rīte ātmakalyāṇanā nimitte dān āpavun te ja kharun dān chhe. paṇ je vastuonun dān āpavāthī sansāranā viṣhay ādi ane rāgadveṣhanī vr̥uddhi thāy evun dān na āpavun joīe.

jem ke–pr̥ithvīnun dān, hāthī, ghoḍā, sonun, chāndī, strī vagerenun dān karavun te. jenāthī rāgadveṣhanī vr̥uddhi thāy tene ja kudān kahe chhe. āvun dān karavāthī halakī gatinā bandh sivāy bījun kāī thatun nathī, māṭe evun kudān na karavun joīe. 170.

have pātronā bhed batāve chheḥ–

पात्रं त्रिभेदमुक्तं संयोगो मोक्षकारणगुणानाम्।
अविरतसम्यग्द्रष्टिः विरताविरतश्च सकलविरतश्च।। १७१।।

anvayārthaḥ– [मोक्षकारणगुणानाम्] mokṣhanā kāraṇarūp guṇono arthāt samyagdarshan, samyaggnān ane samyakchāritrarūp guṇono [संयोगः] sanyog jemān hoy, evā [पात्रं] pātra [अविरतसम्यग्द्रष्टिः] vratarahit samyagdraṣhṭi [च] tathā [विरताविरतः] deshavratī [च] ane [सकलविरतः] mahāvratī [त्रिभेदम्] traṇ bhedarūp [उक्तम्] kahel chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘मोक्षकारणगुणानां संयोगः पात्रं त्रिभेदं उक्तं सकलविरतः च विरताविरतः च अविरतसम्यग्द्रष्टिः च इति।’–arthaḥ–mokṣhanā kāraṇ samyagdarshan, samyaggnān ane samyakchāritra– e traṇeno sanyog jemān hoy tene pātra kahe chhe. uttam, madhyam ane jaghanyapātranā bhedathī tenā traṇ prakār chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– samyaktvasahit munine uttamapātra, samyaktvasahit deshavrat pāḷanār shrāvakane madhyamapātra ane vratarahit samyaktvasahit shrāvakane jaghanyapātra kahe chhe. je jīvane samyagdarshan thaī gayun chhe te ja pātra kahevāvāne yogya chhe. samyagdarshananā abhāvamān koī prakāranī pātratā hoī shakatī nathī. tethī dravyaliṅgī muni pātra nathī paṇ uttam kupātra chhe, kem ke tene samyagdarshan nathī. paṇ ahīn vichāravā jevī vāt e chhe ke pātranā bhed vyavahārasamyagdarshananī apekṣhāthī chhe ke nishchayasamyagdarshananī apekṣhāe? jo nishchayasamyagdarshananī apekṣhāe mānavāmān āve to to uttamapātranī oḷakhāṇ karavī te kupātranī buddhinī bahāranī vāt chhe ane jo vyavahārasamyagdarshananī apekṣhāe mānavāmān āve to pahelā guṇasthānavāḷo jīv paṇ vyavahārasamyagdraṣhṭi hoī shake chhe ane te uttamapātranī gaṇanāmān āvī shake chhe. tethī dravyaliṅgī muni paṇ uttamapātra hoī shake chhe ane e ja ṭhīk lāge chhe. kāraṇ ke pātranī oḷakhāṇ karavī e shrāvakanun kām chhe. shrāvak je vātanī jeṭalī parīkṣhā karī shake chhe teṭalī ja karashe tethī dravyaliṅgīne paṇ (vyavahār) pātratā hoī shake chhe. māṭe vyavahārasamyagdarshanathī pātronī parīkṣhā karīne temane yathāyogya vinay, ādarapūrvak dān devun ane te sivāy duḥkhī prāṇīone bhaktibhāv vinā karuṇāthī dān āpavun joīe.

je duḥkhī nathī, potānī ājīvikā karavāne samartha chhe, vyasanī ane vyabhichārī chhe temane dān na āpavun joīe. temane dān āpavāthī anek pāp utpanna thāy chhe, māṭe evā jīvone dān nahi āpavun joīe. uttamapātrane dān devāthī uttam bhogabhūmi, madhyamapātrane dān devāthī madhyam bhogabhūmi, ane jaghanyapātrane dān devāthī jaghanya bhogabhūmi tathā kupātrane dān devāthī kubhogabhūmi maḷe chhe. apātrane dān āpavāthī narakādi gatinī prāpti thāy chhe.

jem ke rayaṇasāramān kahyun chhe keḥ–

सप्पुरिसाणं दाणं कप्पतरूणं फलाण सोहं वा।
लोहीणं दाणं जई विमाण सोहा सव्वस्स जाणेह।।

arthaḥ– satpuruṣhone dān devāthī kalpatarunī jem shobhā paṇ thāy chhe ane manavāñchhit phaḷanī prāpti paṇ thāy chhe. lobhī, pāpī puruṣhone dān āpavāthī maḍadānī ṭhāṭhaḍīnī jem shobhā to thāy paṇ duḥkh paṇ thāy chhe. jem ke maḍadānī ṭhāṭhaḍī shaṇagārīne kāḍhavāthī lokamān kīrti thāy paṇ gharanā svāmīne duḥkh āpanār bane chhe, evī ja rīte apātra vagerene dān āpavāthī sansāramān loko to vakhāṇ kare chhe paṇ tenun phaḷ kharāb ja thāy chhe, sārun thatun nathī. 171.

dān āpavāthī hinsāno tyāg thāy chheḥ–

हिंसायाः पर्यायो लोभोऽत्र निरस्यते यतो दाने।
तस्मादतिथिवितरणं
हिंसाप्युपरमणमेवेष्टम्।। १७२।।

anvayārthaḥ– [यतः] kāraṇ ke [अत्र दाने] ahīn dānamān [हिंसायाः] hinsānā [पर्यायः] paryāy [लोभः] lobhano [निरस्यते] nāsh karavāmān āve chhe, [तस्मात्] tethī [अतिथिवितरणं] atithidānane [हिंसाव्युपरमणमेव] hinsāno tyāg ja [इष्टम्] kahyo chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘यतः अत्र दाने हिंसायाः पर्यायः लोभः तिरस्यते तस्मात् अतिथि वितरणं हिंसाव्युपरमणं एव इष्टम्।’ arthaḥ–ā dānamān hinsāno ek bhed je lobh chhe teno tyāg thāy chhe tethī atithi pātrane dān devun te hinsāno ja tyāg chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– kharekhar jyāre āpaṇo antaraṅg kaṣhāy je lobh chhe teno tyāg thāy chhe tyāre ja āpaṇā pariṇām bāhya vastumān vitaraṇ karavānā thāy chhe, tethī lobh kaṣhāyano tyāg ja kharun dān chhe ane lobh kaṣhāy bhāvahinsāno ek bhed chhe, tethī je satpuruṣh dān kare chhe teo ja kharī rīte ahinsāvrat pāḷe chhe. 172.

गृहमागताय गुणिने मधुकरवृत्या परानपीडयते।
वितरति यो नातिथये स कथं न हि लोभवान् भवति।। १७३।।

anvayārthaḥ– [यः] je gr̥uhastha [गृहमागताय] gher āvelā [गुणिने] sanyamādi guṇavān evā ane [मधुकरवृत्या] bhramar samān vr̥uttithī [परान्] bījāone [अपीडयते] pīḍā na devāvāḷā [अतिथये] atithi sādhune [न वितरति] bhojanādi deto nathī, [सः] te [लोभवान्] lobhī [कथं] kem [न हि भवति] na hoy?

ṭīkāḥ– ‘यः गृहमागताय गुणिने परान् अपीडयते अतिथये न वितरति सः लोभवान् कथं न भवति।’ arthaḥ–potānī meḷe–svayamev gher āvelā tathā ratnatrayādi guṇasahit ane bhamarā jevī vr̥uttithī dātāne takalīph na āpanār evā atithi muni mahārāj vagere chhe, temane je shrāvak gr̥uhastha dān deto nathī te shrāvak lobh–hinsā sahit kem na hoy? avashya ja hoy chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– jevī rīte bhamaro badhān phūlonī vās le chhe paṇ koī phūlane pīḍā upajāvato nathī tevī ja rīte muni mahārāj vagere paṇ koī paṇ shrāvak gr̥uhasthane pīḍā pahoñchāḍatā nathī. temane em kahetā nathī ke amāre māṭe bhojan banāvo athavā āpo. paṇ shrāvak pote jyāre ādarapūrvak bolāve chhe tyāre teo thoḍo lūkho sūko shuddha prāsuk jevo āhār maḷe chhe tevo ja grahaṇ karī le chhe; tethī je shrāvak āvā santoṣhī vratīne jo dān na āpe to te avashya hinsāno bhāgīdār thāy chhe. 173.

कृतमात्मार्थं मुनये ददाति भक्तमिति भावितस्त्यागः।
अरतिविषादविमुक्तः शिथिलितलोभो
भवत्यहिंसैव।।
१७४।।

anvayārthaḥ– [आत्मार्थं] potāne māṭe [कृतम्] banāvel [भक्तम्] bhojan [मुनये] munine [ददाति] āpe–[इति] ā rīte [भावितः] bhāvapūrvak [अरतिविषादविमुक्तः] aprem ane viṣhādarahit tathā [शिथिलितलोभः] lobhane shithil karanār [त्यागः] dān [अहिंसा एव] ahinsā svarūp ja [भवति] chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘आत्मार्थं कृतं भुक्तं मुनये ददाति इति भावितः त्यागः अरतिविषादविमुक्तः शिथिलितलोभः अहिंसैव भवति।’–arthaḥ–potāne māṭe banāvelun bhojan te hun muni mahārājane āpun chhun em tyāgabhāvano svīkār karī tathā shok ane viṣhādano tyāg karī jeno lobh shithil thayo chhe evā shrāvakane avashya ahinsā hoy chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– ā atithisamvibhāg–vaiyāvr̥utta shikṣhāvratamān dravya–ahinsā to pragaṭ ja chhe kem ke dān devāthī bījānī kṣhudhā–tr̥uṣhānī pīḍā maṭe chhe tathā dātā lobhano tyāg kare chhe tethī bhāv–ahinsā paṇ thāy chhe arthāt dān karanār pūrṇa ahinsāvratanun pālan kare chhe. ā rīte sāt shīlavratonun varṇan pūrun thayun. 174.

have sallekhanānun svarūp kahe chheḥ–

इयमेकैव समर्था धर्मस्वं मे मया समं नेतुम्।
सततमिति भावनीया पश्चिमसल्लेखना भक्त्या।। १७५।।

anvayārthaḥ– [इयम्] [एका] ek [पश्चिमसल्लेखना एव] maraṇanā ante thavāvāḷī sanlekhanā ja [मे] mārā [धर्मस्वं] dharmarūpī dhanane [मया] mārī [समं] sāthe [नेतुम्] laī javāne [समर्था] samartha chhe. [इति] e rīte [भक्त्या] bhakti sahit [सततम्] nirantar [भावनीया] bhāvanā karavī joīe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘इयम् एकैव मे धर्मस्वं मया समं नेतुम् समर्था इति इतौः पश्चिमसल्लेखना भक्त्या सततं भावनीया।’ arthaḥ–ā mātra ekalī sanlekhanā ja mārā dharmane mārī sāthe laī javāne samartha chhe te kāraṇe darek manuṣhye ā antim sanlekhanā athavā samādhimaraṇanī bhaktithī sadā bhāvanā karavī joīe.

bhāvārthaḥ– sansāranān kāraṇ krodhādi kaṣhāy chhe ane temanān kāraṇ āhār vagere parigrahamān ichchhā chhe. (svasanmukhatānā baḷavaḍe) e badhānne ghaṭāḍavān tene ja sanlekhanā kahe chhe. ā sanlekhanā paṇ be prakāranī chhe. ek krame krame tyāg karavo ane bījī sarvathā tyāg karavo. tethī vichār karīne shrāvake potānā maraṇanā ant samaye jarūr ja sanlekhanā karavī joīe. men je jīvanaparyant puṇyarūp kārya karyun chhe tathā dharmanun pālan karyun chhe te dharmane mārī sāthe pahoñchāḍavāne māṭe ā ek sanlekhanā ja samartha chhe–evo vichār karī shrāvake avashya samādhimaraṇ karavun.17p.

मरणान्तेऽवश्यमहं विधिना 1सल्लेखनां करिष्यामि।
इति भावनापरिणतोऽनागतमपि पालयेदिदं शीलम्।।
१७६।।

ṭīkāḥ– ‘अहं मरणान्ते अवश्यं विधिना सल्लेखनां करिष्यामि–इति भावना परिणतः अनागतं अपि शीलं पालयेत्।’ arthaḥ–hun maraṇ samaye avashya ja vidhipūrvak samādhimaraṇ karīsh–evī bhāvanāsahit shrāvak je prāpta thayel nathī tevā shīl (svabhāv)ne prāpta karī le chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– shrāvake ā vātano vichār sadaiv karavo joīe ke hun mārā maraṇ vakhate avashya ja sanlekhanā karīsh. kāraṇ ke maraṇ vakhate prāyaḥ manuṣhyonā pariṇām bahu duḥkhī thaī jāy chhe tathā kuṭumbījano ane dhanādithī mamatvabhāv chhūṭato nathī. jeṇe mamatvabhāv chhoḍī dīdho teṇe sanlekhanā karī. mamatvabhāv chhūṭī javāthī pāpano bandh thato nathī tathā narakādi gatino bandh thato nathī, tethī maraṇ vakhate jarūr ja sanlekhanā karavānā pariṇām rākhavā joīe. 176.

मरणेऽवश्यं भाविनि कषायसल्लेखनातनूकरणमात्रे।
रागादिमन्तरेण व्याप्रियमाणस्य
नात्मघातोऽस्ति।। १७७।।

anvayārthaḥ– [अवश्यं] avashya [भाविनि] thavāvāḷun [मरणे ‘सति’] maraṇ thatān [कषायसल्लेखनातनूकरणमात्रे] kaṣhāy sallekhanānā kr̥ush karavā mātranā vyāpāramān [व्याप्रियमाणस्य] pravartamān puruṣhane [रागादिमन्तरेण] rāgādibhāvonā abhāvamān [आत्मघातः] ātmaghāt [नास्ति] nathī.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘अवश्यं भाविनि कषायसल्लेखनातनूकरणमात्रे मरणे रागादिमन्तरेण व्याप्रियमाणस्य आत्मघातः न अस्ति।’–arthaḥ–avashya ja thanār je maraṇ chhe temān kaṣhāyano tyāg karatān rāgadveṣh vinā prāṇatyāg karanār je puruṣh chhe tene ātmaghāt thaī shakato nathī.

bhāvārthaḥ– sanlekhanā karanār puruṣhanī ichchhā evī nathī ke hun jabarajastīthī maraṇ karun paṇ eno abhiprāy evo hoy chhe ke jabarajastīthī maraṇ thavā lāge

tyāre mārā pariṇām shuddha rahe ane hun sansāranā viṣhay–bhogothī mamatvano tyāg karī daun. tenā maraṇamān jo rāgadveṣh thāy to ja ātmaghāt thāy. paṇ je manuṣhya rāgadveṣhano tyāg karī rahyo chhe tene ātmaghāt thaī shakato nathī. 177.

ātmaghātī koṇ chhe te have batāve chheḥ–

यो हि कषायाविष्टः कुम्भकजलधूमकेतुविषशस्त्रैः।
व्यपरोपयति प्राणान् तस्य
स्यात्सत्यमात्मवधः।। १७८।।

anvayārthaḥ– [हि] nishchayathī [कषायाविष्टः] krodhādi kaṣhāyothī gherāyelo [यः] je puruṣh [कुम्भकजलधूमकेतुविषशस्त्रैः] shvāsanirodh, jaḷ, agni, viṣh, shastrādithī potānā [प्राणान्] prāṇane [व्यपरोपयति] pr̥uthak kare chhe [तस्य] tene [आत्मवधः] ātmaghāt [सत्यम्] kharekhar [स्यात्] thāy chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘हि यः (श्रावकः) कषायाविष्टः (सन्) कुम्भक–जल–धूमकेतु–विषशस्त्रैः प्राणान् व्यपरोपयति तस्य आत्मवधः सत्यं स्यात्।’–arthaḥ–je jīv krodhādi kaṣhāy sanyukta thayo thako shvās rokīne, vā jaḷathī, agnithī, viṣhathī ke hathiyār vagerethī potānā prāṇano viyog kare chhe tene sadā āpaghātano doṣh thāy chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– krodh–mān–māyā–lobh ityādi kaṣhāyonī tīvratāthī je potānā prāṇano ghāt karavo tene ja āpaghāt–maraṇ kahe chhe. 178.

visheṣhaḥ– sallekhanā dharma (samādhimaraṇ vidhi) gr̥uhastha ane muni beune chhe, sallekhanā athavā sannyāsamaraṇano ek ja artha chhe. māṭe bār vrato pachhī sallekhanānun varṇan karyun chhe. ā sallekhanāvratanī utkr̥uṣhṭa maryādā bār varṣha sudhīnī chhe;–em shrī vīranandī āchāryakr̥ut yatyāchāramān kahyun chhe.

jyāre sharīr koī asādhya rogathī athavā vr̥uddhāvasthāthī asamartha thaī jāy, dev– manuṣhyādikr̥ut koī durnivār upasarga āvī paḍe, koī mahā duṣhkāḷathī dhānyādi bhojya padārtho duṣhprāpya thaī jāy athavā dharmano nāsh karavāvāḷān koī visheṣh kāraṇ āvī maḷe tyāre potānā sharīrane pākī gayelā pān samān athavā telarahit dīpak samān āpoāp vināshasanmukh jāṇī, sannyās dhāraṇ kare. jo maraṇamān koī prakāre sandeh hoy to maryādāpūrvak evī pratignā kare, ke jo ā upasargamān mārun āyu pūrṇa thaī jashe to (mr̥utyu thaī jashe to) māre āhārādino sarvathā tyāg chhe

ane kadāchit jīvan bākī raheshe to āhārādikane grahaṇ karīsh. ā sannyās grahaṇ karavāno kram chhe.

rogādik thatān yathāshakti auṣhadh kare paṇ jyāre asādhya rog thaī jāy, koī rīte upachārathī lābh na thāy tyāre ā sharīr, duṣhṭa samān sarvathā tyāg karavā yogya kahyun chhe, ane ichchhit phaḷ dātā dharma visheṣhatāthī pālan karavā yogya kahel chhe. sharīr maraṇ bād bījun paṇ maḷe chhe parantu dharmapālan karavānī yogyatā pāmavī atishay durlabh chhe. āthī vidhipūrvak dehanā tyāgamān duḥkhī na thatān sanyamapūrvak man–vachan–kāyāno upayog ātmāmān ekatrit karavo joīe ane ‘‘janma, jarā tathā mr̥utyu sharīr sambandhī chhe, mane nathī’’–evun chintavan karī nirmamatvī thaī, vidhipūrvak āhār ghaṭāḍī, potānā trikāḷī akaṣhāy gnātāmātra svarūpanā lakṣhe kāyā kr̥ush karavī joīe ane shāstrāmr̥utanā pānathī kaṣhāyone pātaḷā pāḍavā joīe, pachhī 1chār prakāranā saṅghanī sākṣhī vaḍe samādhimaraṇamān sāvadhān–udyamavant thavun.

antanī ārādhanāthī chirakāḷathī karelī samyak vrat–niyamarūp dharma ārādhanā saphaḷ thaī jāy chhe, kemake tethī kṣhaṇabharamān ghaṇā kāḷathī sañchit pāpano nāsh thaī jāy chhe. ane jo ant maraṇ bagaḍī jāy arthāt asanyamapūrvak yā dehamān ekatā–buddhipūrvak mr̥utyu thaī jāy to karelī dharmārādhanā niṣhphaḷ thaī jāy chhe. ahīn koī prashna kare ke, ‘‘jo ant samay samādhimaraṇ karī levāthī kṣhaṇamātramān pūrva pāpono nāsh thaī jāy chhe to pachhī yuvāavasthāmān dharma karavānī shī jarūr chhe? ant samaye sannyās dhāraṇ karī levāthī ja sarva manorath siddha thaī jashe,’’ to tenun samādhān–je jīv potānī pūrvaavasthāmān dharmathī vimukh rahe chhe arthāt jemaṇe tattvagnānapūrvak vrat–niyam ādi dharmārādhanā nathī karī te jīv antakāḷamān dharmasanmukh arthāt sannyāsayukta kadī thaī shakato nathī. kemake–chandraprabhacharitra pratham sargamān kahyun chhe ke ‘‘चिरन्तनाभ्यासनिबन्धनेरितागुणेषु दोषेषु च जायते मतिः’’ arthāt chirakāḷanā abhyāsathī prerit karavāmān āvelī buddhi guṇ athavā doṣhomān jāy chhe. je vastra prathamathī ja ujaḷun karelun hoy chhe tenī upar manapasand raṅg chaḍhī shake chhe, paṇ je vastra prathamathī melun chhe tenī upar kadīpaṇ raṅg chaḍhāvī shakāto nathī. māṭe samādhimaraṇ te ja dhāraṇ karī shake chhe ke je pratham avasthāthī ja dharmanī ārādhanāmān barābar sāvadhān rahelo hoy. hān, koī sthāne evun paṇ jovāmān āve chhe ke jeṇe _________________________________________________________________ 1. chār prakāranā saṅgh muni, arjikā, shrāvak, shrāvikā.

ājīvan dharmasevanamān chitta lagāḍayun nahotun te paṇ apūrva vivekanun baḷ prāpta karī samādhimaraṇ eṭale sannyāsapūrvak maraṇ karīne svargādik sukhone pāmī gayā paṇ te to kākatālīy nyāyavat ati kaṭhin chhe. (tāḍavr̥ukṣhathī phaḷ tūṭavun ne ūḍatā kāgaḍānā moḍhāmān tenī prāpti thaī javī jem kaṭhin chhe tem sanskārahīn jīvan vaḍe samādhimaraṇ pāmavun kaṭhaṇ chhe.) māṭe sarvagna vītarāganān vachano prati shraddhāvān chhe temaṇe upar kahī shaṅkāne potānā chittamān kadīpaṇ sthān āpavun nahi.

samādhimaraṇanā ichchhuk puruṣho bane tyānsudhī jineshvar bhagavānanī janmādi tīrthabhūmino āshray grahaṇ kare, jo tem na banī shake to mandir athavā sanyamījanonā āshrayamān rahe. sannyāsārthī tīrthakṣhetre jatī vakhate badhā sāthe kṣhamā yāchanā kare ane pote paṇ man–vachan– kāyapūrvak sarvane kṣhamā kare. ant samaye kṣhamā karavāvāḷo sansārano pāragāmī thāy chhe, ane vair– virodh rākhanāro arthāt kṣhamā na rākhanār anant sansārī thāy chhe. sannyāsārthīe putra, kalatrādi kuṭumbīothī tathā sānsārik sarva sampadāthī sarvathā moh chhoḍī (nirmohī nij ātmāne bhajavo joīe.) uttam sādhak dharmātmāonī sahāy levī kemake sādharmī tathā āchāryonī sahāyathī ashubhakarma yatheṣhṭa bādhānun kāraṇ banatān nathī. vratanā atichāro sādharmīo athavā āchārya sanmukh pragaṭ karīne niḥshalya thaī pratikramaṇ–prāyashchit shāstramān kahelī vidhiothī shodhan karavun joīe.

nirmaḷabhāvarūpī amr̥utathī siñchit samādhimaraṇane māṭe pūrva athavā uttar dishā taraph mastak rākhe. jo shrāvak mahāvratanī yāchanā kare, to nirṇāyak āchāryane uchit chhe ke tene mahāvrat de, mahāvrat grahaṇamān nagna thavun joīe. arjikāne paṇ antakāḷ upasthit thatān ekānta sthānamān vastrono tyāg karavo uchit kahel chhe. santhārā vakhate anek prakāranā yogya āhār dekhāḍī bhojan karāve. athavā jo tene agnānatāvash bhojanamān āsakta samaje, to paramārthagnātā āchārya tene uttam prabhāvashālī vyākhyān dvārā em samajāve ke–

have āvī bhrānta buddhine sarvathā chhoḍī de ane nirmaḷagnānānandamay ātmatattvamān lavalīn thā. ā te ja samay chhe ke jemān gnānī jīv shuddhatāmān sāvadhān rahe chhe ane bhedagnānanā baḷathī chintavan kare chhe ke hun anya chhun ane e pudgal dehādi mārāthī sarvathā bhinna judā ja padārtha chhe. māṭe he mahāshay! paradravyothī moh turat ja chhoḍ ane potānā ātmāmān nishchal–sthir rahevāno prayatna kar. jo koī pudgalamān āsakta rahīne maraṇ pāmīsh to yād rākhaje ke tane halakā–tuchchha jantu thaī, ā pudgalonun bhakṣhaṇ anantavār karavun paḍashe. ā bhojanathī tun sharīrano upakār karavā chāhe chhe to koī rīte paṇ yogya nathī. kemake sharīr evun kr̥utadhnī chhe ke te koīnā karelā upakārane māne nahi, māṭe bhojananī ichchhā chhoḍī, kevaḷ ātmahitamān chitta joḍavun te ja buddhimattā chhe.

ā prakāre hitopadesharūpī amr̥utadhārā paḍavāthī annanī tr̥uṣhṇā dūr karī kavalāhār chhoḍāve tathā dūdh ādi pīvāyogya vastu vadhāre, pachhī krame krame garam jaḷ levā mātrano niyam karāve. jo unāḷo, māravāḍ jevo desh tathā pitta prakr̥itinā kāraṇe tr̥uṣhānī pīḍā sahan karavā asamartha hoy to mātra ṭhaṇḍun pāṇī levānun rākhe, ane shikṣhā de ke he ārādhak! he ārya! paramāgamamān prashansanīy māraṇāntik sallekhanā atyant durlabh varṇavī chhe, māṭe tāre vichār pūrvak atichār ādi doṣhothī tenī rakṣhā karavī.

pachhī ashaktinī vr̥uddhi dekhīne, maraṇakāḷ najīk chhe em nirṇay thatān āchārya samasta saṅghanī anumatithī sannyāsamān nishchalatā māṭe pāṇīno paṇ tyāg karāve. āvā anukramathī chāre prakāranā āhārano tyāg thatān samasta saṅghathī kṣhamā karāve ane nirvighna samādhinī siddhine māṭe kāyotsarga kare. tyār pachhī vachanāmr̥utanun siñchan kare arthāt sansārathī vairāgya utpanna karavāvāḷā kāraṇono ukta ārādhakanā kānamān, manda manda vāṇīthī jap kare. shreṇik, vāriṣheṇ, subhagādinān draṣhṭānta sambhaḷāve ane vyavahār–ārādhanāmān sthir thaī, nishchay–ārādhanānī tatparatā māṭe ām upadesh kare ke–

chintāothī pr̥uthak thaīne prāṇavisarjan kar! ane jo tārun man koī kṣhudhā parīṣhahathī athavā koī upasargathī vikṣhipta (vyagra) thaī gayun hoy to narakādi vedanāonun smaraṇ karīne gnānāmr̥utarūp sarovaramān pravesh kar. kemake agnānī jīv sharīramān ātmabuddhi arthāt ‘‘hun duḥkhī chhun hun sukhī chhun–evā saṅkalpa karīne duḥkhī thayā kare chhe, parantu bhedavignānī jīv ātmā ane dehane bhinna bhinna mānīne dehane kāraṇe sukhī–duḥkhī thato nathī, paṇ vichāre chhe ke mane maraṇ ja nathī to pachhī bhay kono? mane rog nathī pachhī vedanā kevī? hun bāḷak, vr̥uddha yā taruṇ nathī to pachhī manovedanā kevī? he mahābhāgya! ā jarāk jeṭalā shārīrik duḥkhathī kāyar thaīne pratignāthī jarāpaṇ chyut na thaīsh, draḍhachitta thaīne param nirjarānī abhilāṣh kar. jo, jyānsudhī tun ātmachintavan karato thako sannyās grahaṇ karīne santhārāmān beṭho chho, tyānsudhī kṣhaṇe kṣhaṇe tane prachur karmono vināsh thāy chhe! shun tun dhīravīr pāṇḍavonun charitra bhūlī gayo chhe? jemane loḍhānān ghareṇān agnithī tapāvī shatrue paherāvyān hatān topaṇ tapasyāthī kiñchit paṇ chyut na thatān ātmadhyānathī mokṣhane pāmyā! shun te mahāsukumār sukumālakumāranun charitra sāmbhaḷ‌yun nathī? jenun sharīr shiyāḷe thoḍun thoḍun karaḍīne atishay kaṣhṭa devā māṭe ghaṇā divas (traṇ divas) sudhī bhakṣhaṇ karyun hatun, parantu kiñchit paṇ mārgachyut na thatān jemaṇe sarvārthasiddhi svarga pāpta karyun hatun. evān asaṅkhya udāharaṇ shāstramān chhe jemān dussah upasargo sahan karīne anek sādhuoe svārthasiddhi karī chhe. shun tārun ā kartavya nathī ke temanun anukaraṇ karīne jīvan–dhanādimān nirvāñchhak thaī, anrta–bāhya parigrahanā tyāgapūrvak sāmyabhāvathī nirupādhimān sthir thaī ānandāmr̥utanun pān karavun! ane uparokta upadeshathī samyak prakāre kaṣhāyane pātaḷā karī–kr̥ush karī ratnatrayanī bhāvanārūp pariṇamanathī pañch namaskār–mantra smaraṇ pūrvak samādhimaraṇ karavun joīe.–ā samādhimaraṇanī saṅkṣhep vidhi chhe.

नीयन्तेऽत्र कषाया हिंसाया हेतवो यतस्तनुताम्।

bhāvārthaḥ– jem svayamvaramān kanyā potānī meḷe oḷakhīne yogya patine vare chhe, tem muktirūpī lakṣhmī vratī ane samādhimaraṇ karanār shrāvakane pote ja prāpta thāy chhe. 180.

ā rīte pāñch aṇuvrat, traṇ guṇavrat, chār shikṣhāvrat, ek sanlekhanā ane ek samyaktva–ā rīte shrāvakanī chaud vātonun varṇan karyun.

anvayārthaḥ– [शङ्का] sandeh [काङ्क्षा] vāñchhā [विचिकित्सा] glāni [तथैव] tevī ja rīte [अन्यद्रष्टीनाम्] mithyādraṣhṭionī [संस्तवः] stuti [च] ane [मनसा] manathī [तत्प्रशंसा] te anya matavāḷāonī prashansā karavī te [सम्यग्द्रष्टेः] samyagdraṣhṭinā [अतीचाराः] atichār chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘शङ्का तथैव काङ्क्षा विचिकित्सा अन्यद्रष्टीनाम् संस्तवः च मनसा प्रशंसा सम्यग्द्रष्टेः अतीचाराः भवन्ति।’–arthaḥ–(1) jinavachanamān shaṅkā karavī, (2) vrato pāḷīne sansāranān sukhonī ichchhā karavī. साकारमन्त्रभेदश्च।। १८४।।

anvayārthaḥ– [मिथ्योपदेशदानं] jūṭho upadesh āpavo, [रहसोऽभ्याख्यानकूट– लेखकृती] ekāntanī gupta vāto pragaṭ karavī, jūṭhān lakhāṇ karavān, [न्यासापहारवचनं] thāpaṇ oḷavavānun vachan kahevun [च] ane [साकारमन्त्रभेदः] kāyānī cheṣhṭāothī jāṇīne bījāno abhiprāy pragaṭ karavo–e pāñch satya aṇuvratanā atichār chhe.

anvayārthaḥ– [प्रतिरूपव्यवहारः] pratirūp vyavahār eṭale sāchī vastumān khoṭī vastu bheḷavīne vechavī, [स्तेननियोगः] chorī karanārāone madad karavī, [तदाहृतादानम्] chore lāvelī vastuo rākhavī, [च] ane [राजविरोधातिक्रमहीनाधिकमानकरणे] rājāe prachalit karelā niyamonun ullaṅghan karavun, māpavānā ke toḷavānā gaj, kāṇṭā, tolā vagerenā māpamān hīnādhik karavun–(एते पञ्चास्तेयव्रतस्य) e pāñch achauryavratanā atichār chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘स्मरतीव्राभिनिवेशः अनङ्गक्रीडा अन्यपरिणयनकरणं इत्वरिकयोः अपरिगृहीता गमनं च इत्वरिका परिगृहिता गमनं च इति पञ्च अतीचाराः ब्रह्मचर्याणुव्रतस्य सन्ति।’ arthaḥ– 1. kām–bhog–viṣhay sevan karavānī bahu lālasā rākhavī, 2. je aṅg viṣhay sevan karavānā nathī tevān mukh, nābhi, stan vagere anaṅgomān ramaṇ karavun, 3. bījānā putra–putrīonā vivāh karāvavā, 4. vyabhichāriṇī veshyā tathā kanyā vagere sāthe leṇadeṇ ādi vyavahār rākhe, vārtā kare, rūp–shr̥uṅgār dekhe, pa–vyabhichāriṇī bījānī strī sāthe paṇ e pramāṇe karavun–e pāñch brahmacharya aṇuvratanā atichār chhe. 186.

parigrahapariṇām vratanā pāñch atichār

वास्तुक्षेत्राष्टापदहिरण्यधनधान्यदासदासीनाम्।
कुप्यस्य भेदयोरपि परिमाणातिक्रियाः
पञ्च।। १८७।।

anvayārthaḥ– [वास्तुक्षेत्राष्टापदहिरण्यधनधान्यदासदासीनाम्] ghar, bhūmi, sonun, chāndī, dhan, dhānya, dās, dāsī ane [कुप्यस्य] suvarṇādi dhātuo sivāy vastrādinā [भेदयोः] babbe bhedonān [अपि] paṇ [परिमाणातिक्रियाः] parimāṇanun ullaṅghan karavun–[एते अपरिग्रहव्रतस्य] e aparigrahavratanā [पञ्च] pāñch atichār chhe.

digvratanā pāñch atichār batāve chheḥ–

ऊर्ध्वमधस्तात्तिर्यग्व्यतिक्रमाः क्षेत्रवृद्धिराधानम्।
स्मृत्यन्तरस्य गदिताः पञ्चेति
प्रथमशीलस्य।। १८८।।

anvayārthaḥ– [ऊर्ध्वमधस्तात्तिर्यग्व्यतिक्रमाः] upar, nīche ane samān bhūminī karelī maryādānun ullaṅghan karavun arthāt jeṭalun pramāṇ karyun hoy tenāthī bahār chālyā javun, [क्षेत्रवृद्धिः] parimāṇ karelā kṣhetranī lobhādivash vr̥uddha karavī ane [स्मृत्यन्तरस्य] smr̥uti sivāyanā kṣhetranī maryādā [आधानम्] dhāraṇ karavī arthāt yād na rākhavī, [इति] e rīte [पञ्च] pāñch atichār [प्रथमशीलस्य] pratham shīl arthāt digvratanān [गदिताः] kahevāmān āvyā chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘ऊर्ध्व व्यतिक्रमः अधस्तात् व्यतिक्रमः तिर्यक् व्यतिक्रमः क्षेत्रवृद्धिः, स्मृत्यन्तरस्य आधानम् इति पञ्च अतीचाराः प्रथमशीलस्य दिग्व्रतस्य सन्ति।’ arthaḥ–1. maryādā karelī uparanī dishāonun ullaṅghan karavun, 2. maryādā karelī nīchenī dishāonun ullaṅghan karavun, 3. maryādā karelī tiryak dishāonun ullaṅghan karavun, 4. maryādā karelā kṣhetrane vadhāravun, pa. parimāṇ karelī maryādāne bhūlī jaīne had vadhārī devī–e pāñch atichār digvratanān chhe. 188.

deshavratanā pāñch atichār

प्रेष्यस्य संप्रयोजनमानयनं शब्दरूपविनिपातौ।
क्षेपोऽपि पुद्गलानां द्वितीयशीलस्य पञ्चेति।। १८९।।

anvayārthaḥ– [प्रेष्यस्य संप्रयोजनम्] pramāṇ karelā kṣhetranī bahār bījā manuṣhyane mokalavo, [आनयनं] tyānthī koī vastu maṅgāvavī, [शब्दरूपविनिपातौ] shabda sambhaḷāvavā, rūp batāvīne īshārā karavā ane [पुद्गलानां] kāṅkarā vagere pudgalo [क्षेपोऽपि] paṇ pheṅkavā– [इति] ā rīte [पञ्च] pāñch atichār [द्वितीयशीलस्य] bījā shīlanā arthāt deshavratanā kahevāmān āvyā chhe.

anarthadaṇḍatyāg vratanā pāñch atichār

कन्दर्पः कौत्कुच्यं भोगानर्थक्यमपि च मौखर्यम्।
असमीक्षिताधिकरणं
तृतीयशीलस्य पञ्चेति।। १९०।।

anvayārthaḥ– [कन्दर्पः] kāmanān vachan bolavān, [कौत्कुच्यं] bhāṇḍarūp ayogya kāyacheṣhṭā karavī, [भोगानर्थक्यम्] bhog–upabhoganā padārthonun anarthakay, [मौखर्यम्] vāchāḷapaṇun [च] ane [असमीक्षिताधिकरणं] vichār karyā vinā kārya karavun; [इति] e rīte [तृतीयशीलस्य] trījā shīl arthāt anarthadaṇḍavirati vratanā [अपि] paṇ [पंच] pāñch atichār chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘‘कन्दर्पः कौत्कुच्यं भोगानर्थक्यम् मौखर्यम् च असमीक्षिताधिकरणं इति तृतीयशीलस्य पञ्च अतीचाराः सन्ति।’’ arthaḥ–1–hāsya sahit bhāṇḍ vachan bolavān, 2–kāyāthī kucheṣhṭā karavī, 3–prayojanathī adhik bhoganā padārtho bhegā karavā tathā nām grahaṇ karavun, 4– laḍāī–jhagaḍā karāvanār vachano bolavān, pa–prayojan vinā man, vachan, kāyāno vyāpār vadhāratā javun–e ja pāñch anarthadaṇḍatyāgavratanā atichār chhe. 190.

sāmāyik shikṣhāvratanān pāñch atichār

वचनमनःकायानां दुःप्रणिधानं त्वनादरश्चैव।
स्मृत्यनुपस्थानयुताः पञ्चेति चतुर्थशीलस्य।। १९१।।

anvayārthaḥ– [स्मृत्यनुपस्थानयुताः] smr̥utianupasthān sahit, [वचनमनःकायानां] vachan, man ane kāyānī [दुःप्रणिधानं] khoṭī pravr̥utti[तु] ane [अनादरः] anādar–[इति] e rīte [चतुर्थशीलस्य] chothā shīl arthāt sāmāyikavratanā [पंच] pāñch [एव] ja atichār chhe.

uchchāraṇ barābar na karavun, 2–manano durupayog arthāt manamān kharāb bhāvanā utpanna thavī, manamān anek saṅkalpa–vikalpa ūṭhavā, 3–kāyāno durupayog arthāt sāmāyik karatī vakhate hāth–pag halāvavā, 4–anādar arthāt sāmāyik ādarapūrvak na karatān veṭhanī jem pūrṇa karavun, pa–smr̥utyanupasthān eṭale sāmāyikano pāṭh bhūlī javo–e sāmāyik shikṣhāvratanā pāñch atichār chhe.

sāmāyikamān man, vachan, kāyā e traṇenī ekāgratānī ghaṇī ja āvashyakatā chhe. e traṇene vash karyā vinā sāmāyik thaī shakatī ja nathī. māṭe tene avashya ja vash karavā joīe.191.

proṣhadhopavās shikṣhāvratanā pāñch atichār

अनवेक्षिताप्रमार्जितमादानं संस्तरस्तथोत्सर्गः।
स्मृत्यनुपस्थानमनादरश्च
पञ्चोपवासस्य।। १९२।।

anvayārthaḥ– [अनवेक्षिताप्रमार्जितमादानं] joyā vinā ke shuddha karyā vinā grahaṇ karavun, [संस्तरः] pathārī pātharavī [तथा] tathā [उत्सर्गः] maḷ–mūtrano tyāg karavo, [स्मृत्यनुपस्थानम्] upavāsanī vidhi bhūlī javī [च] ane [अनादरः] anādar–e [उपवासस्य] upavāsanā [पञ्च] pāñch atichār chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘१–अनवेक्षिताप्रमार्जितमादानं २–अनवेक्षिताप्रमार्जित संस्तरः ३– अनवेक्षिताप्रमार्जित उत्सर्गः ४–स्मृत्यनुपस्थानम् ५–अनादरश्च इति पञ्च अतीचाराः उपवासस्य सन्ति।’ arthaḥ–1–joyā vinā tathā poñchhayā vinā koī vastu grahaṇ karavī, 2–joyā vinā sāph karyā vinā pathārī pātharavī, 3–joyā vinā sāph karyā vinā maḷ–mūtrano tyāg karavo, 4–upavāsanī vidhi bhūlī javī ane pa–tap ke upavāsanī vidhimān anādar (udāsīnatā) karavo–e pāñch proṣhadhaupavāsavratanā atichār chhe. 192.

bhog–upabhogaparimāṇ shikṣhāvratanā pāñch atichār

आहारो हि सचित्तः सचित्तमिश्र सचित्तसंबन्धः।
दुष्पक्वोऽभिषवोपि च पञ्चामी
षष्ठशीलस्य।। १९३।।

anvayārthaḥ– [हि] nishchayathī [सचितः आहारः] sachitta āhār, [सचित्त–

ṭīkāḥ– ‘हि सचितः आहारः सचित्तमिश्रः आहारः सचित्तसंबन्धः आहारः च दुःपक्वः आहारः अभिषवाहारः इति अमी पञ्च अतीचाराः षष्ठशीलस्य सन्ति।’ 1–jīvasahit kāchī līlī (līlotarī) vastuno āhār levo, 2–līlotarīnā mishraṇavāḷī vastuno āhār levo, 3–līlotarī ḍhāṅkī hoy tevī vastuno āhār levo, 4–evī vastuno āhār karavo je sārī rīte randhāyelī na hoy, ati randhāyelī vā adhakacharī randhāyelī hoy tathā pa–gariṣhṭha, kāmoddīpak vastuno āhār karavo. –e pāñch bhogopabhogaparimāṇavratanā atichār chhe.

bhāvārthaḥ– joke ā bhogopabhogaparimāṇ shikṣhāvrat pāḷanār shrāvak hajī sachittano tyāgī nathī topaṇ sachittatyāg pratimānā pālananā abhyās māṭe tathā khāvānā padārthomān adhik lālasā maṭāḍavā māṭe ja teṇe ā atichār ṭāḷavā joīe. 192.

vaiyāvr̥utta atithisamvibhāganā pāñch atichār

परदातृव्यपदेशः सचित्तनिक्षेपतत्पिधाने च।
कालस्यातिक्रमणं मात्सर्य्यं चेत्यतिथिदाने।। १९४।।

anvayārthaḥ– [परदातृव्यपदेशः] paradātr̥uvyapadesh, [सचित्तनिक्षेपतत्पिधाने च] sachittanikṣhep ane sachittapidhān, [कालस्यातिक्रमणं] kāḷano atikram [च] ane [मात्सर्य्यं] mātsarya–[इति] e rīte [अतिथिदाने] atithisamvibhāgavratanā pāñch atichār chhe.

ṭīkāḥ– ‘अतिथिदाने परदातृव्यपदेशः अतिथिदाने सचित्तनिक्षेपः अतिथिदाने सचित्तपिधानं अतिथिदाने कालस्य अतिक्रमणं च अतिथिदाने मात्सर्य्यं–इति पञ्च अतीचाराः वैयाव्रतस्य सन्ति।’ arthaḥ–1–gharanun kām adhik hovāthī potānā hāthe dān na detān bījānā hāthe apāvavun, 2–āhāranī vastune līlā pāndaḍāmān mūkī _________________________________________________________________ 1. dugdha dhr̥utādik rasamishrit kāmotpādak āhār.
