anvayārthaḥ– [आगमे] jain āgamamān [चारित्रान्तर्भावात्] chāritranun antarvartī hovāthī [तपः] tapane [अपि] paṇ [मोक्षाङ्गम्] mokṣhanun aṅg [गदितम्] kahevāmān āvyun chhe, tethī [अनिगूहितनिजवीर्यैः] potānun parākram na chhupāvanār tathā [समाहितस्वान्तैः] sāvadhān chittavāḷā puruṣhoe [तदपि] te tapanun paṇ [निषेव्यम्] sevan karavā yogya chhe.
ṭīkāḥ– ‘चारित्रान्तर्भावात् तपः अपि आगमे मोक्षाङ्गम् गदितम् अतः एव अनिगूहितनिजवीर्यैः समाहितस्वान्तैः तदपि निषेव्यम्।’ arthaḥ–samyakchāritramān samāvesh pāmatun hovāthī tapane paṇ shāstromān mokṣhanun kāraṇ kahyun chhe, tethī potānī shakti chhupāvyā vinā potānun man vash rākhī te tapanun paṇ ācharaṇ karavun joīe.
bhāvārthaḥ– tap ek prakāre vyavahārachāritra chhe. (bhūtārthano āshray karanārane) vyavahārachāritrathī nishchayachāritra ke je samyakchāritra chhe tenī prāpti thāy chhe arthāt e niyam chhe ke tapashcharaṇ vinā nishchay samyakchāritranī prāpti thatī ja nathī tethī mokṣha ichchhanār puruṣhoe avashya tap dhāraṇ karavun joīe. 197.
[nondhaḥ– chāritra to vītarāgatā chhe ane te nij shuddhātmānā āshraye ja pragaṭe chhe. paṇ tyān te kāḷe vyavahāracharaṇ kevun hoy te batāvavā tene vyavahāranayathī kāraṇ kahyun chhe. rāg chhe te bādhak ja chhe paṇ te te bhūmikāne yogya rāg te guṇasthānano nāshak nathī eṭalo meḷ batāvavā māṭe upachār–vyavahār nirūpaṇanī e rīt chhe. rāg karatān karatān nishchayachāritra thāy nahi em prathamathī ja niḥsandehapaṇe pratīti karavī joīe.]
