पुरुष इत्यस्ति स्तवनम् । निश्चयनयेन तु शरीरस्तवनेनात्मस्तवनमनुपपन्नमेव ।
bhāvārthaḥ — ahīn koī prashna kare ke vyavahāranay to asatyārtha kahyo chhe ane sharīr jaḍ chhe to vyavahāranā āshraye jaḍanī stutinun shun phaḷ chhe? teno uttarḥ — vyavahāranay sarvathā asatyārtha nathī, nishchayane pradhān karī asatyārtha kahyo chhe. vaḷī chhadmasthane potāno, parano ātmā sākṣhāt dekhāto nathī, sharīr dekhāy chhe, tenī shāntarūp mudrāne dekhī potāne paṇ shānta bhāv thāy chhe. āvo upakār jāṇī sharīranā āshraye paṇ stuti kare chhe; tathā shānta mudrā dekhī antaraṅgamān vītarāg bhāvano nishchay thāy chhe e paṇ upakār chhe.
uparanī vātane gāthāthī kahe chheḥ —
gāthārthaḥ — [तत्] te stavan [निश्चये] nishchayamān [न युज्यते] yogya nathī [हि] kāraṇ ke [शरीरगुणाः] sharīranā guṇo [केवलिनः] kevaḷīnā [न भवन्ति] nathī; [यः] je [केवलिगुणान्] kevaḷīnā guṇonī [स्तौति] stuti kare chhe [सः] te [तत्त्वं] paramārthathī [केवलिनं] kevaḷīnī [स्तौति] stuti kare chhe.
ṭīkāḥ — jem chāndīno guṇ je saphedapaṇun, teno suvarṇamān abhāv chhe māṭe nishchayathī saphedapaṇānā nāmathī sonānun nām nathī banatun, suvarṇanā guṇ je pīḷāpaṇun ādi chhe temanā nāmathī ja suvarṇanun nām thāy chhe; tevī rīte sharīranā guṇo je shukla-raktapaṇun vagere, temano tīrthaṅkar-kevaḷīpuruṣhamān abhāv chhe māṭe nishchayathī sharīranā shukla-raktapaṇun vagere guṇonun stavan
