ab uparokta bhAvArthamen kathit Ashayako pragaT karaneke lie, kAvya kahate hain : —
shlokArtha : — [tathApi ] tathApi (arthAt lok Adi kAraNonse bandha nahIn kahA aur rAgAdik se hI bandha ka hA hai tathApi) [gnAninAn nirargalan charitum na iShyate ] gnAniyonko nirargal (svachchhandatApUrvak) pravartanA yogya nahIn hai, [sA nirargalA vyApRuti kil tad-Ayatanam ev ] kyonki vah nirargal pravartan vAstavamen bandhakA hI sthAn hai . [gnAninAn akAm-kRut-karma tat akAraNam matam ] gnAniyonke vAnchhArahit karma (kArya) hotA hai vah bandhakA kAraN nahIn ka hA, kyonki [jAnAti cha karoti ] jAnatA bhI hai aur (ka rmako ) ka ratA bhI hai — [dvayan kimu na hi virudhyate ] yah donon kriyAen kyA virodharUp nahIn hain ? (ka ranA aur jAnanA nishchayase virodharUp hI hai .)
bhAvArtha : — pahale kAvyamen lok Adiko bandhakA kAraN nahIn kahA, isalie vahAn yah nahIn samajhanA chAhie ki bAhyavyavahArapravRuttikA bandhake kAraNommen sarvathA hI niShedh kiyA hai; bAhyavyavahArapravRutti rAgAdi pariNAmakI — bandhake kAraNakI — nimittabhUt hai, us nimittakA yahAn niShedh nahIn samajhanA chAhie . gnAniyonke abuddhipUrvak — vAnchhA rahit — pravRutti hotI hai, isaliye bandha nahIn kahA hai, unhen kahIn svachchhanda hokar pravartaneko nahIn ka hA hai; kyonki maryAdA rahit (nirankush) pravartanA to bandhakA hI kAraN hai . jAnanemen aur karanemen to paraspar virodh hai; gnAtA rahegA to bandha nahIn hogA, kartA hogA to avashya bandha hogA .166.
