bandhanirodhaḥ sidhyet . kiṁc yadidamātmāsravayorbhedajñānaṁ tatkimajñānaṁ kiṁ vā jñānam ? yadyajñānaṁ tadā tadabhedajñānānna tasya viśeṣaḥ . jñānaṁ cet kimāsraveṣu pravr̥ttaṁ kiṁ vāsravebhyo nivr̥ttam ? āsraveṣu pravr̥ttaṁ cettadāpi tadabhedajñānānna tasya viśeṣaḥ . āsravebhyo nivr̥ttaṁ cettarhi kathaṁ na jñānādev bandhanirodhaḥ ? iti nirasto‘jñānāṁśaḥ kriyānayaḥ . yattvātmāsravayorbhedajñānamapi nāsravebhyo nivr̥ttaṁ bhavati tajjñānamev na bhavatīti jñānāṁśo jñānanayo‘pi nirastaḥ .
aur, jo yah ātmā aur āsravoṁkā bhedajñān hai so ajñān hai yā jñān ? yadi ajñān hai to ātmā aur āsravoṁke abhedajñānase usakī koī viśeṣatā nahīṁ huī . aur yadi jñān hai to vah āsravoṁmeṁ pravr̥tta hai yā unase nivr̥tta ? yadi āsravoṁmeṁ pravr̥tta hotā hai to bhī ātmā aur āsravoṁke abhedajñānase usakī koī viśeṣatā nahīṁ huī . aur yadi āsravoṁse nivr̥tta hai to jñānase hī bandhakā nirodh siddha huā kyoṁ na kahalāyegā ? (siddha huā hī kahalāyegā .) aisā siddha honese ajñānakā aṁś aise kriyānayakā khaṇḍan huā . aur yadi ātmā aur āsravoṁkā bhedajñān bhī āsravoṁse nivr̥tta na ho to vah jñān hī nahīṁ hai aisā siddha honese jñānakā aṁś aise (ekānta) jñānanayakā bhī khaṇḍan huā .
bhāvārtha : — āsrav aśuci haiṁ, jaṛ haiṁ, duḥkhake kāraṇ haiṁ aur ātmā pavitra hai, jñātā hai, sukhasvarūp hai . isaprakār lakṣaṇabhedase donoṁko bhinna jānakar āsravoṁse ātmā nivr̥tta hotā hai aur use karmakā bandha nahīṁ hotā . ātmā aur āsravoṁkā bhed jānane par bhī yadi ātmā āsravoṁse nivr̥tta na ho to vah jñān hī nahīṁ, kintu ajñān hī hai . yahān̐ koī praśna kare ki avirat samyagdr̥ṣṭiko mithyātva aur anantānubaṁdhī prakr̥tiyoṁkā to āsrav nahīṁ hotā, kintu anya prakr̥tiyoṁkā to āsrav hokar bandha hotā hai; isaliye use jñānī kahanā yā ajñānī ? usakā samādhān : — samyagdr̥ṣṭi jīv jñānī hī hai, kyoṁki vah abhiprāyapūrvakake āsravoṁse nivr̥tta huā hai . use prakr̥tiyoṁkā jo āsrav tathā bandha hotā hai vah abhiprāyapūrvak nahīṁ hai . samyagdr̥ṣṭi honeke bād paradravyake svāmitvakā abhāv hai; isaliye, jab tak usako cāritramohakā uday hai tab tak usake udayānusār jo āsrav-bandha hotā hai usakā svāmitva usako nahīṁ hai . abhiprāyameṁ to vah āsrav-bandhase sarvathā nivr̥tta honā hī cāhatā hai . isaliye vah jñānī hī hai .
jo yah kahā hai ki jñānīko bandha nahīṁ hotā usakā kāraṇ isaprakār hai : — mithyātvasambandhī bandha jo ki ananta saṁsārakā kāraṇ hai vahī yahān̐ pradhānatayā vivakṣit hai . avirati ādise jo bandha hotā hai vah alpa sthiti-anubhāgavālā hai, dīrgha saṁsārakā kāraṇ nahīṁ
