ṇa vi hodi appamatto ṇa pamatto jāṇago du jo bhāvo .
yo hi nām svataḥsiddhatvenānādirananto nityodyoto viśadajyotirjñāyak eko bhāvaḥ sa saṁsārāvasthāyāmanādibandhaparyāyanirūpaṇayā kṣīrodakavatkarmapudgalaiḥ samamekatve‘pi dravyasvabhāv- nirūpaṇayā durantakaṣāyacakrodayavaicitryavaśen pravartamānānāṁ puṇyapāpanirvartakānāmupāttavaiśvarūpyāṇāṁ śubhāśubhabhāvānāṁ svabhāvenāpariṇamanātpramatto‘pramattaśca na bhavati . eṣ evāśeṣadravyāntarabhāvebhyo bhinnatvenopāsyamānaḥ śuddha ityabhilapyate . na cāsya jñeyaniṣṭhatven jñāyakatvaprasiddheḥ
ab yahān̐ yah praśna uṭhatā hai ki aisā śuddha ātmā kaun hai ki jisakā svarūp jānanā cāhie ? isake uttarasvarūp gāthāsūtra kahate haiṁ : —
gāthārtha : — [yaḥ tu ] jo [jñāyakaḥ bhāvaḥ ] jñāyak bhāv hai vah [apramattaḥ api ] apramatta bhī [na bhavati ] nahīṁ aur [na pramattaḥ ] pramatta bhī nahīṁ hai, — [evaṁ ] isaprakār [śuddhaṁ ] ise śuddha [bhaṇanti ] kahate haiṁ; [ca yaḥ ] aur jo [jñātaḥ ] jñāyakarūpase jñāt huā [saḥ tu ] vah to [saḥ ev ] vahī hai, anya koī nahīṁ .
ṭīkā : — jo svayaṁ apanese hī siddha honese (kisīse utpanna huā na honese) anādi sattārūp hai, kabhī vināśako prāpta na honese ananta hai, nitya-udyotarūp honese kṣaṇik nahīṁ hai aur spaṣṭa prakāśamān jyoti hai aisā jo jñāyak ek ‘bhāv’ hai vah saṁsārakī avasthāmeṁ anādi bandhaparyāyakī nirūpaṇāse (apekṣāse) kṣīr-nīrakī bhāṁti karmapudgaloṁke sāth ekarūp hone par bhī dravyake svabhāvakī apekṣāse dekhā jāy to duranta kaṣāyacakrake udayakī ( – kaṣāyasamūhake apār udayoṁkī) vicitratāke vaśase pravartamān jo puṇya-pāpako utpanna karanevāle samasta anekarūp śubhāśubhabhāv unake svabhāvarūp pariṇamit nahīṁ hotā (jñāyakabhāvase jaṛabhāvarūp nahīṁ hotā) isaliye pramatta bhī nahīṁ hai aur apramatta bhī nahīṁ hai; vahī samasta anya dravyoṁke bhāvoṁse bhinnarūpase upāsit hotā huā ‘śuddha kahalātā hai .
