ṇa vi hodi appamatto ṇa pamatto jāṇago du jo bhāvo .
yo hi nām svataḥsiddhatvenānādirananto nityodyoto vishadajyotirgnāyak eko bhāvaḥ sa sansārāvasthāyāmanādibandhaparyāyanirūpaṇayā kṣhīrodakavatkarmapudgalaiḥ samamekatve‘pi dravyasvabhāv- nirūpaṇayā durantakaṣhāyachakrodayavaichitryavashen pravartamānānān puṇyapāpanirvartakānāmupāttavaishvarūpyāṇān shubhāshubhabhāvānān svabhāvenāpariṇamanātpramatto‘pramattashcha na bhavati . eṣh evāsheṣhadravyāntarabhāvebhyo bhinnatvenopāsyamānaḥ shuddha ityabhilapyate . na chāsya gneyaniṣhṭhatven gnāyakatvaprasiddheḥ
ab yahān̐ yah prashna uṭhatā hai ki aisā shuddha ātmā kaun hai ki jisakā svarūp jānanā chāhie ? isake uttarasvarūp gāthāsūtra kahate hain : —
gāthārtha : — [yaḥ tu ] jo [gnāyakaḥ bhāvaḥ ] gnāyak bhāv hai vah [apramattaḥ api ] apramatta bhī [na bhavati ] nahīn aur [na pramattaḥ ] pramatta bhī nahīn hai, — [evan ] isaprakār [shuddhan ] ise shuddha [bhaṇanti ] kahate hain; [cha yaḥ ] aur jo [gnātaḥ ] gnāyakarūpase gnāt huā [saḥ tu ] vah to [saḥ ev ] vahī hai, anya koī nahīn .
ṭīkā : — jo svayam apanese hī siddha honese (kisīse utpanna huā na honese) anādi sattārūp hai, kabhī vināshako prāpta na honese ananta hai, nitya-udyotarūp honese kṣhaṇik nahīn hai aur spaṣhṭa prakāshamān jyoti hai aisā jo gnāyak ek ‘bhāv’ hai vah sansārakī avasthāmen anādi bandhaparyāyakī nirūpaṇāse (apekṣhāse) kṣhīr-nīrakī bhānti karmapudgaloṅke sāth ekarūp hone par bhī dravyake svabhāvakī apekṣhāse dekhā jāy to duranta kaṣhāyachakrake udayakī ( – kaṣhāyasamūhake apār udayoṅkī) vichitratāke vashase pravartamān jo puṇya-pāpako utpanna karanevāle samasta anekarūp shubhāshubhabhāv unake svabhāvarūp pariṇamit nahīn hotā (gnāyakabhāvase jaṛabhāvarūp nahīn hotā) isaliye pramatta bhī nahīn hai aur apramatta bhī nahīn hai; vahī samasta anya dravyoṅke bhāvonse bhinnarūpase upāsit hotā huā ‘shuddha kahalātā hai .
